CM's convoy route declared as ‘red zone' in Tiruvarur district
The streets and roads through which Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's convoy is scheduled to pass through during his two-day visit to Tiruvarur have been declared as 'red zone' by the Tiruvarur District Police. Collector V. Mohanachandran in a press release said the Chief Minister would be visiting Tiruvarur district on July 9 and 10. During his visit, the use of civil remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS)/drones was banned since the VVIP route has been declared as 'red zone', he added. On his arrival from Chennai through Tiruchi, the Chief Minister would hold a roadshow in Tiruvarur on July 9 night after visiting the Kalaignar Memorial at Kattur on the outskirts of the town. After the overnight stay at their family home in Tiruvarur town, he would participate in the function organised by the district administration on July 10 where benefits under various welfare schemes would distributed, sources said.

School students to be involved in palm seeds collection
Collector V. Mohanachandran has said that school children in the district would be involved in the exercise of palm seeds collection. Disclosing this at an awareness rally held at Moonar River Head near Needamangalam on June 8, the Collector presented a brief note on the usage of palm products, including palm leaves used to record verses and statements, in the past. Calling upon the people to extend their support in preservation of palm trees for posterity, he said that efforts would be initiated to involve school children in the process of collection of palm seeds and subsequent planting of them. He flagged off an awareness rally, Bamani Aatril Panaipayanam, organised by Green Needa organisation in association with National Service Scheme volunteers of various higher education institutions in Tiruvarur and Thanjavur districts, affiliated with Bharathidasan University, Tiruchi. The awareness rally passed through 30 hamlets covering around 60 km between the Moonar River Head and Muthupettai.

Digitisation of property-related procedures, taxation to be discussed at grama sabha meetings
Digitisation of property-related procedures and taxation will be discussed in detail at grama sabha meetings to be held in Tiruvarur district on May 1. Disclosing this in a press release, Collector V. Mohanachandran said online submission of applications for residential layouts and building permissions, procedures to be followed for obtaining building plan approvals by self-certification basis and payment of tax and other payments through online would be discussed and explained in detail at the grama sabha meetings to be held in 430 village panchayats in the district on May Day. The discussion and explanation of the above mentioned subjects would be taken up in addition to subjects relating to the village administration and development. Meanwhile, Thanjavur Collector B. Priyanka Pankajam has said that subjects relating to the development of village panchayats would be discussed at May Day grama sabha meetings to be held in 589 village panchayats in the district on Thursday.
