CPI(M) veteran V.S. Achuthanandan's condition remains critical
The condition of former Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, who was admitted to a private hospital in the city after a cardiac arrest, continues to remain critical, hospital sources said. A medical bulletin issued by the hospital on Friday (July 4) said his health condition remains the same. The Communist veteran is on ventilator support and is undergoing dialysis, the bulletin added. The 101-year-old Achuthanandan was admitted to the hospital after a cardiac arrest and age-related ailments on June 23. A team of expert doctors is monitoring his health condition, hospital sources added.

V.S. Achuthanandan remains in ICU, condition stable, says family
Veteran Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] and former Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, 101, continued to be under medical observation at the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for the second consecutive day on Tuesday (June 24, 2025). In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Mr. Achuthanandan's son, V. Arun Kumar, said his father was admitted to the hospital on Monday after the centenarian experienced 'mild' breathing difficulties. Mr. Arun Kumar said the doctors admitted Mr. Achuthanandan to the intensive care unit after they 'perceived' the possibility of a cardiac ailment. Top CPI(M) leaders, including Left Democratic Front (LDF) convenor T.P. Ramakrishnan, had called on Mr. Achuthanandan's family at the hospital.
