The Argentine had spent the majority of last season on the sidelines recovering from a knee injury that he'd suffered in the fall. However, Carboni was part of the Inter squad at the Club World Cup this summer. And the young attacking midfielder got his share of playing time at that tournament. Not only that, Carboni enjoyed something of a star turn. The 20-year-old came off the bench to score Inter's stoppage time winner in a group stage match against Urawa Red Diamonds. Now, Carboni has joined Genoa on loan. He will hope that this spell with the Grifone provides him with the platform to play regularly in Serie A and really hit his stride. Carboni called it 'a perfect comeback.' He aded that 'I'll use it as a starting point.' Then, the 20-year-old said that 'I'm feeling good physically.' 'I've joined up with [Genoa] a bit late, but I started working with the group. They're slowly getting me back to the best shape possible.' Rather, it is just a season-long dry loan deal. This reflects the fact that Inter still see Carboni as part of their future plans. Therefore, the Nerazzurri don't want there to be any risk of losing control of the Argentine's future this summer. Rather, the priority is playing time. Reportedly, Inter have agreed to pay Genoa a bonus of up to €1 million based on the amount of playing time that Carboni receives.
