Amy Poehler's Private Romance With Joel Lovell Is No Longer a Secret

In March 2025, Amy Poehler and editor Joel Lovell made their red carpet debut at the the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar party following almost a year of low-key dating. In October 2024, People reported the pair had begun seeing one another that summer, with a source saying they were 'enjoying spending time together.' The Parks & Recreation star has been previously linked to John Stamos, Nick Kroll, and Benjamin Graf, but her most well-known relationship was with her ex-husband, Will Arnett. The pair was married for 13 years before divorcing in 2016. They share two sons, 16-year-old Archie and 14-year-old Abel. Here's everything to know about Poehler and her connection with Joel Lovell so far. Joel Lovell grew up in upstate New York, then went to college at Cornell University, according to an interview with the University of Michigan's alumni newsletter in 2016. He wanted to go to medical school but discovered a love for literature and writing. He went to University of Michigan for his MFA. After graduating, he taught undergraduate fiction writing at Michigan before making a big career change. 'I kind of lucked into a magazine job at Harper's,' said Lovell. 'My friend had applied for a job at the magazine but decided not to take it, so he recommended me. I literally just got a call one day from an editor asking if I'd be interested in applying for an editing job. That was 20 years ago.' From Harper's, he went to the New York Times Magazine and GQ, where he wrote a very popular profile of Stephen Colbert in 2015, which connected him to the comedy world. He then became deputy editor of the New York Times Magazine. According to People, Lovell left the publication to start working in podcasting. He is now the executive editor at Pineapple Street Studios, which is owned by Audacy, the producers of Poehler's 2023 scripted comedy podcast, Say More with Dr? Sheila. On his company's website, Lovell is credited for editing the podcasts Missing Richard Simmons, Winds of Change, and 9/12. Before that, he worked as the executive editor at This American Life and on the first two seasons of hit true crime show Serial. In his University of Michigan interview, Lovell shared a bit about his editing philosophy. 'You have to look at what's working in the story, but also, in a less intellectual sense, you look at the way in which things are said,' said Lovell. 'You start paying a crazy amount of attention to the sound of things, such as, 'Oh, there's an intake of breath here that makes the next thing she says difficult to understand.'' Like Poehler, Lovell has children from a previous relationship: Addie, 23, Tess, 21, and Julia, 17. After going red carpet official at the 2025 Academy Awards, Poehler referenced her date in an interview at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. 'I had the trifecta tonight, which never happens,' she said of her experience that evening. 'I'm just gonna say, I liked how I looked, which never happens—you know what, I want to be one of the greatest! I want to be the Michael Jordan of this party. I liked how I looked, I had fun with my date, and my feet don't hurt.' But she added, laughing, 'I cannot wait to leave. I cannot wait to get in there so I can do a lap and leave.'

BREAKING NEWS Mindy Kaling's rumored baby daddy BJ Novak, 45, has a 'new girlfriend' who is 17 years younger

Mindy Kaling 's good friend BJ Novak, 45, has a new girlfriend. On Monday People reported that he has been spending time with a pretty brunette TikTok star. She is Idaho native Delaney Rowe, 28. In November they were snapped together at The Official How Long Gone After Party at The Standard in New York City. In December 2024 there was talk that the two might be seeing each other after they were spotted together at the Bowery Hotel in New York City, according to Deuxmoi. For years it has been speculated that he is still dating his The Office costar Kaling and they have welcomed children together. The pair dated on and off from 2004 to 2007, and although they have publicly insisted their bond is now platonic, rumors have been swirling about their equation for years. The pair have remained friends since they met while working on The Office in 2004. In 2017, Novak became her daughter's godfather. They have appeared at multiple public events together since their split, igniting speculation that their relationship might be more than just amicable. Their Office characters Kelly and Ryan had a complicated relationship on-screen, and by the series finale, the two characters were back together. At the 2022 Emmy Awards, the pair poked fun at their 'insanely complicated relationship' while co-presenting the award for writing for a limited or anthology series or movie. When she received her star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, Mindy - who has not publicly named the father of any of her three children - made headlines by describing BJ as an 'important and integral' part of her family. However, amid the renewed surge of conjecture, Mindy, 45, posed solo on the red carpet outside Hollywood's famed Dolby Theatre on Oscar night. But they were seen together at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Mindy is mother to Katherine, seven, Spencer, four, and Anne, one, but has been assiduously private about who fathered her children. Kaling secretly had her third child in February 2024. The Mindy Project actress, who previously had her son Spencer, four, without telling fans she was pregnant, chose her 45th birthday to announce she was a mother again. She captioned an Instagram post that featured photos of her new arrival – a girl called Anne – with her siblings Katherine, six, and Spencer: 'She's the best birthday present I could've ever imagined. 'When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life.' 'I'm so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!' Mindy included a throwback snap of her baby bump with the post. In 2020, the comic and actress announced on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' she had given birth to Spencer without ever letting the public know she had been pregnant. She said: 'I'm telling it for the first time now… I gave birth to a baby boy on 3 September.' Mindy has never disclosed the father of her children, and left the box for the father's name on Katherine's birth certificate blank.

(AP Photo/Lois Bernstein, File) HOUSTON (AP) — Family, friends and the public are preparing to remember boxing legend, pastor and entrepreneur George Foreman during a memorial service in his hometown of Houston. George Foreman IV, one of five sons of the boxing legend, along with Houston Mayor John Whitmire and former boxer Michael Moorer, who Foreman defeated in 1994 to become the oldest man at age 45 to win the heavyweight championship, are expected to speak at the service Monday. Advertisement The service will be hosted by Foreman's family and the city of Houston at the Wortham Theater Center, a performing arts center that is home to the city's ballet and opera companies. 'We're going to celebrate the life of George Foreman, two-time heavyweight champion of the world and certainly the face of how great Houston is,' Whitmire said. Foreman died on March 21 at age 76. Foreman's family has not disclosed his cause of death, only saying on social media that he 'peacefully departed … surrounded by loved ones.' Born in Marshall, Texas, Foreman was raised in Houston's Fifth Ward, one of the city's historically Black neighborhoods. Advertisement He began his boxing career as an Olympic gold medalist in 1968, turning pro the next year. Foreman became the heavyweight champion of the world when he beat Joe Frazier in 1973. But he lost the title the following year when Muhammad Ali beat Foreman in the famous 'Rumble in the Jungle' fight in Zaire. Foreman then gave up boxing and after a religious awakening, became an ordained minister in 1978. He began preaching in Houston, later founding The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1980. The middle-aged fighter returned to the ring after a 10-year absence and in 1994 pulled off one of the most spectacular knockouts in boxing history, flooring Moorer — 19 years his junior — with a surgical right hand to claim Moorer's two heavyweight belts. Advertisement Foreman retired in 1997 with a 76-5 career record. He then moved to the next chapter in his life as a businessman, pitchman and occasional actor. He became known to a new generation as the face of the George Foreman Grill. The simple cooking machine sold more than 100 million units and brought him more wealth than boxing. A biographical movie based on his life was released in 2023. Foreman had 12 children, including five sons who are all famously named George Edward Foreman. ___ Follow Juan A.
