JSP cadre offer spl prayers
Nellore: At a special prayer ceremony at Gangamma temple in Balaji Sun City, Jana Sena Party's district general secretary Gunukula Kishore hailed Goddess Varahi as the divine force behind Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's efforts for women's safety and effective governance. The event, led by JSP supporters Pawan and Sujitha, on Sunday celebrated one year of Kalyan's administration and prayed to Varahi for his health and strength. Leaders like Nune Mallikarjuna Yadav, Vijayalakshmi, Pawan Yadav, Sundar Ramireddy, and women activists joined the gathering. They honored Varahi, a Saptamatrika avatar, worshipped to conquer fear and inner enemies like desire and anger, seeking her protection for Kalyan against obstacles. Participants praised Kalyan's swift action in ensuring a missing girl's safe return within 48 hours, reflecting his commitment to women's safety. They expressed trust in his vision for a safer, inclusive society. 'Our prayers are a collective wish for progress under Pawan Kalyan's leadership,' said Kishore.

Month-long Varahi festivities begin at Durga temple on a grand note in Andhra Pradesh
VIJAYAWADA: The month-long Varahi festivities commenced with grandeur at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri on Thursday, as the Ashada masam began. Temple Executive Officer (EO) VK Seena Naik and his wife offered the ceremonial first Saare (traditional offering) to Goddess Kanaka Durga, marking the start of the celebrations. The ritual included offerings of turmeric, vermilion, bangles, chalimidi (a sweet delicacy), henna leaves (gorintaku), flowers, and new garments (Shesha Vasthrams), accompanied by devotional music and drum beats. The EO Seena Naik expressed joy in offering the first Saree and said such offerings would continue throughout the Ashada month with ceremonial elegance. Highlighting upcoming events, he said that devotees from Telangana will present a golden Bonam to the deity on June 29. The temple will also host the Shakambari festival from July 8 to 10, another key celebration during this season. The temple is preparing for a large influx of devotees during the festive period. Later in the day, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and her family visited the temple, offered a Saree, and had darshanam of the presiding deity. She was received with temple honours and received blessings from priests.

Ashadha Gupt Navratri 2025: Also known as Varahi or Gayatri Navratri, Ashadha Gupt Navratri will begin on 26th June July 2025 and end on 4th July 2025. This sacred festival is observed during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the Hindu month of Ashadha, which usually falls between June and July. Each day of this Navratri is associated with one of the Dus Mahavidyas, starting from Maa Kali and concluding with Maa Kamala on the tenth day. Unlike the popular Chaitra and Sharad Navratris, this one is observed in secrecy by spiritual seekers and tantriks.

Varahi Gupta Navaratri celebrations from June 26
Rajamahendravaram: The sacred Varahi Devi Gupta Navaratri celebrations will commence at the Gadala Sri Mahalakshmi Sametha Chinna Venkateswara Swamy Peetham on Thursday, June 26, coinciding with the auspicious Ashada month. The announcement was made by Peethadhipathi Guru Govinda Chinna Venkanna Babu Swamiji during a meeting held on Monday. Swamiji informed that until July 10, Goddess Mahalakshmi will bless devotees in her Varahi avatar. He explained that worshipping Varahi Devi brings knowledge, health, courage, wealth and success, while also eliminating tantric obstacles. As part of the Navaratri festivities, special rituals and Homams will be performed at the Peetham. On Thursday, July 3, a special Abhishekam will be conducted for Goddess Sri Vyuhalakshmi. On July 10, under the leadership of Anugrahaprada Foundation Vice-Chairman Singamsetti Mahitosh, a grand Gandhabhishekam will be performed to Goddess Varahi using 108 kilograms of fragrant sandal paste. Speaking on the occasion, Anugrahaprada Foundation Chairperson Dharanikota Durga Venkata Hemavathi stated that devotees who have darshan of Sri Varahi Devi during the Gupta Navaratri will be blessed with the removal of obstacles and the fulfilment of their wishes. Managudi–Manaseva Bharatiya Adhyatmika Seva Samithi Chairman for AP and Telangana, Mathala Ramesh, said that devotees from across various states are expected to participate in the celebrations and offer special prayers and services. Vice-Chairman of the Mahalakshmi Peetham TV Apparao, INTUC District President Vasamsetti Gangadhar Rao, trade union leaders Box Prasad, Gubbala Gangabhavani, Mudunuri Venkata Lakshmi, Ananta Lakshmi, and Tirumala Raju Venkataraju were among those present at the gathering.
