Larry David Reunites With HBO for New Sketch Comedy Limited Series
Summary Larry Davidis back atHBOfor a new limited series, marking his return to the network after the end ofCurb Your Enthusiasm. Varietyreports that the upcoming project will be 'a sketch comedy limited series about American history.' LD will star in the six-episode show as well as write with Jeff Schaffer, the showrunner, executive producer and regular director onCurb. Schaffer will direct, as well as executive produce alongside David andBarackandMichelle Obamaunder their Higher Ground Productions banner. Vinnie Malhotra and Ethan Lewis will also executive produce. The logline reads, 'President and Mrs. Obama wanted to honor America's 250th anniversary and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion…But then Larry David called.' 'Once 'Curb' ended, I celebrated with a three-day foam party,' LD said. 'After a violent allergic reaction to the suds, I yearned to return to my simple life as a beekeeper, harvesting organic honey from the wildflowers in my meadow. Alas, one day my bees mysteriously vanished. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I return to television, hoping to ease the loss of my beloved hive.' 'I've sat across the table from some of the world's most difficult leaders and wrestled with some of our most intractable problems. Nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David,' added former President Obama. 'The characters Larry is playing didn't change history. In fact, they were largely ignored by history. And that's a good thing,' Schaffer stated. 'It's hard to remember a time before 'Curb,' or without Larry David's perspective on modern life,' said Amy Gravitt, executive vice President and head of HBO & HBO Max Comedy Programming. 'We're thrilled that Larry is coming back to HBO, this time with Higher Ground, to give us a glimpse at our shared history as we celebrate our Semiquincentennial.' Curb Your Enthusiasmaired for a total of 12 seasons between 2000 and 2024, with long breaks in between. During its run, it garnered over 50 Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. A Sequel To Issa Rae's 'One of Them Days' Starring Keke Palmer and SZA Is in the Works
Summary A sequel toIssa Rae'sOne of Them Days,starringKeke PalmerandSZA, is officially in the works. Varietyreports that the second film is currently in 'early development' over at TriStar pictures. Palmer and SZA are expected to reprise their roles for the sequel, but additional details are yet to be announced. One of Them Daysis a buddy comedy helmed by Lawrence Lamont and produced by Rae. Palmer and SZA starred as best friends and roommates who must find a way to make rent after SZA's boyfriend dropped their rent money for himself. On the exact same day, however, Palmer is also scheduled to interview for her dream job. Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Maude Apatow, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Patrick Cage, Dewayne Perkins, Amin Joseph, Gabrielle Dennis and DomiNque Perry also star. 'Shin Godzilla' Is Receiving a North American 4K Remastered Theatrical Re-Release
Summary Shin Godzillais returning to North American theaters for a 4K remastered re-release. Varietyreports that Gkids acquired the North American distribution rights to Hideaki Anno's 2016 Godzillais now slated to hit the big screen in its 4K glory, complete with its original Japanese language, subtitles and restored text cards. This will mark the first release of aGodzillatitle since Toho acquired Gkids last year. Gkids President David Jesteadt said, 'With an incredibly timely story of people struggling to work together to stop imminent destruction, backed by some of the most explosive action scenes the franchise has ever seen, 'Shin Godzilla' is a modern masterpiece. We are honored to play a part in bringing the film back for American fans, better than ever.' ''Shin Godzilla' marked the first Japanese-produced Godzilla film since the release of 'Godzilla Final Wars' in 2004,' Keiji Ota, Toho's chief Godzilla officer, added. 'Upon its release, it became a social phenomenon in Japan, playing a pivotal role in reviving the Godzilla franchise after a 12-year hiatus, and we're thrilled to bring this landmark film back to the big screen in North America.' OnlyFans Discussing Sale to Investor Group for $8 Billion USD
Summary OnlyFansowner Leonid Radvinsky is currently in talks to sell his content creator site for a valuation of about $8 billion USD. Varietyreports that Radvinsky is discussing OnlyFans' sale to an investor group led by Forest Road Co.. The LA-based firm's executives were previously included in a special purpose acquisition company that were negotiating an OnlyFans IPO in 2022. A source stated that an IPO is not on the table as of writing. No additional details have been confirmed so far, howeverVarietyadds that the talks are neither exclusive nor bound by a deadline. Earlier reports from theNew York Postclaimed that Radvinsky was having issues finding a buyer due to its content. He was also supposedly looking to sell the site for somewhere between $1.46 billion USD to $2.42 billion USD. Varietyfurther reports that OnlyFans grossed a whopping $6.63 billion USD in revenue by the end of its 2023 fiscal year. Its creators earned $5.32 billion USD. The site logged 4.12 million creators and over 300 million registered users during the same timeframe. OnlyFans was initially launched in 2016 by Tim Stokely. Radvinsky acquired a 75% stake in the site's parent company Fenix International Ltd. two years later.
