From temples and mutts buzzing with thousands of devotees to youngsters sending messages of thanks to their teachers, the day exuded a vibrant mood of spiritual connection. At the historic Sai Mandir on Wardha Road, the celebrations, which began on Wednesday, continued with grandeur. Thursday witnessed a mass feast at 12.30pm, followed by an enthralling devotional musical concert by Vidya Borkar's Swar Smarani Group, filling the temple premises with divine melodies. The temple remains abuzz for the concluding festivities on Friday, featuring Gopal Kala and Dahi Handi Kirtan. Meanwhile, Ramkrishna Math resonated with spiritual chants as devotees gathered from as early as 5am. The day was packed with Ved Path, Ramkrishna Sankirtan, spiritual discourses, prasad distribution, and Sandhya Aarti, creating an atmosphere steeped in devotion. Adding to the fervour, the Guru Mandir Parivar celebrated Guru Purnima in a grand two-day event that concluded on Thursday at Gajanan Maharaj Temple in Sahakar Nagar. Sadgurudas Maharaj delivered a profound discourse, emphasising that liberation (moksha) is attainable through the satsang of a true Guru. Apart from large gatherings, Guru Purnima also unfolded intimately across Nagpur as many youngsters and professionals reached out to their gurus in various fields. From teachers and music mentors to coaches and spiritual guides, heartfelt messages, calls, and personal meetings marked the day. Businesses and professional groups too held small events to felicitate mentors who have guided them over the years.

Cultural, spiritual events to mark Guru Purnima celebrations today
Nagpur: A series of spiritual, cultural and religious programmes have been planned at various locations to celebrate Guru Purnima on Thursday. From early morning rituals to devotional music and community feasts, several temples and organisations have lined up events that reflect reverence towards gurus and spiritual mentors. One of the major attractions is at the historic Sai Mandir on Wardha Road, known for following the festival calendar of the Sai Mandir in Shirdi. The Guru Purnima celebrations began Wednesday, with Bhajan Sandhya organised by Jai Gurudev Sanmitra Seva Mandal and Anand Borkar. On Thursday, a mahaprasad will be held at 12.30pm, followed by a devotional musical performance by Vidya Borkar's Swar Smarani Group. Adding a festive and traditional touch, Gopal Kala and Dahi Handi Kirtan is scheduled at 10 am on July 11. "Thousands of devotees visit Sai Mandir during this three-day Guru Purnima festival," said Avinash Shegaonkar, secretary of the temple trust. Ramkrishna Math, another spiritual hub in the city, will observe Guru Purnima on Thursday from 5am to 7pm. The day will begin with Ved Path, followed by Ramakrishna Sankirtan, spiritual discourses (pravachan), prasad distribution, and conclude with Sandhya Aarti. "Devotees are welcome to participate in the full-day celebrations," said Swami Raghvendranand, president of the math. Several cultural and religious institutions, as well as medical and community organisations, are also organising Guru Vandana programmes, health camps and devotional gatherings to mark the occasion.
