The Indian squash players, who won the bronze medal together at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, claimed the mixed doubles crown in Kuching after beating Malaysian duo Ameeshenraj Chandaran and Rachel Arnold 2-0 (11-9, 11-7) in the final. The 17-year-old Anahat also paired up with senior compatriot Joshna Chinappa to claim the women's doubles crown, as per the The Anahat-Joshna duo had to dig deep to beat the Malaysian pair of Ainaa Amani and Yee Xin Ying 2-1 (8-11, 11-9, 11-10) in a fiercely-contested gold medal match. After going down in the first game, the Indian pair rallied to claw their way back in the second before clinching a thrilling decider. Anahat and Joshna are the first Indian pair to win the women's doubles squash crown at the Asian Championships. In men's doubles, Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar successfully defended their title after beating the Pakistani pair of Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal. The highly anticipated India vs Pakistan title clash lasted 88 minutes, with Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar coming out as the winners by a 2-1 (9-11, 11-5, 11-5) scoreline following the marathon exchange. The men's pairing of Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar earned a 2-1 (9-11, 11-5, 11-5) triumph over Pakistani opponents Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal, while Joshana Chinappa and Anahat Singh earned a 2-1 (8-11, 11-9, 11-10) victory against Ainaa Amani and Xin Ying Yee of Malaysia. Abhay and Anahat rounded off the Indian challenge at Malaysia with a 2-0 (11-9, 11-7) win in the final of the mixed event over Malaysia's Rachel Arnold and Ameeshenraj Chandaran to clinch all three titles on offer at the tournament. The Indian men's duo secured their place in the final after beating Hong Kong pair of Chi Him Wong and Ming Hong Tang in the semifinals and went on to clinch the title with their win over arc-rivals from Pakistan as the Indian unit rallied from a set down to register come-from-behind win to take the crown and everything that goes with it. The women's doubles pair emulated their male compatriots as they also fought back after having surrendered the opening set of the championship clash against the home hope in an encounter that last 35-minutes. The top-seeded mixed doubles pair though, who entered the finals of the event with a win over Malaysians Ainaa Amani and Syafiq Kamal in the semis, had no such complications as they stormed to a 2-0 win over the home side in a fixture that concluded just under the half-an-hour mark.
