Devotees flock to temples in East and West Godavari amid first Ekadashi

The first Ekadashi festival attracted large crowds of devotees to renowned temples across the East and West Godavari districts. From early morning, worshippers gathered for darshan of the Lord and participated in special pujas and abhishekams. At the Venkateswara Swamy temple in Undrajavaram, devotees believed that receiving darshan on this auspicious day would bring blessings and good fortune. In anticipation of the high turnout, temple authorities implemented special arrangements to accommodate the influx of worshippers. Similarly, the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tanuku, along with its revered deities Sri Devi and Bhu Devi, witnessed a significant number of devotees. The temple premises bustled with activity as prasad was generously distributed to attendees, enhancing the festive spirit of the day.

Tirumala: Agricultural Minister Atchennaidu on Sunday offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala. TTD Officials welcomed him at the main entrance and after darshan, presented Srivari Prasadam and Theertha Prasadams to him. Temple Veda pundits blessed him with Vedic -Hyms at Ranganayakula Mandapam. After he had darshan, TDP leaders and activists met the Minister outside the temple and felicitated him. The Minister came to Tirupati to attend on official meeting.

: (TTD) has vowed to embark on a massive afforestation drive on the occasion of the on Thursday. TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Choudary took part in the environment day celebrations organised by the forest department at Tirumala earlier in the day. Speaking to reporters later, Ch Venkaiah Choudary stated that the TTD will soon embark on a mission to plant 2 lakh saplings across the Seshachalam forests which houses the iconic Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala. "The idea is to enhance the forest cover from 70% to 80% near Tirumala. TTD will join hands with the state forest department and initiate this mega afforestation drive. Earlier, during his reviews on TTD activities, chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had also directed the Tirupati trust to draw up plans to enhance the forest cover in a big way," the additional EO recalled. "Beat plastic is this year's environment day's theme and the TTD is playing a significant role in banning the use of plastic in a big way. TTD is the first temple trust in the world to ban the use of packaged drinking water in plastic bottles at Tirumala, where the annual pilgrim footfall is over 2.5 crore. TTD has also stopped using materials made of plastic across all its departments at Tirumala as well," he added.

Tight security arranged for ‘Brahmotsavams' at Dwaraka Tirumala

Police conducted surprise checks during the ongoing 'Brahmotsavams', at Dwaraka Tirumala Devasthanam, in Eluru district, on Sunday. The police carried out the searches using drones at the temple premises. Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara Swamy are being performed from May 7 to 14. The police conducted vehicle checks in the villages, temple premises, bus stations and on National Highways leading to the Devasthanam, said Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Pratap Shiva Kishore. 'Elaborate security arrangements have been made atop the hill shrine for the Kalyanotsavam being performed on May 11 night and Radhotsavam on May 12,' said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) D. Sravan Kumar. 'Police arranged pickets and round-the-clock bandobust during the Brahmotsavams. Checking is being done at hotels in and around the temple,' said Bhimadole Circle Inspector (CI) U.J. Wilson. Devotees can alert the police by calling 9440796653, or Dial 112, if they observe suspicious movements, the DSP said.
