EYES OF WAKANDA Actress Teases the Scope of the Animated Marvel Series Saying It Explores More of Black Panther's Lore — GeekTyrant

Marvel's Disney+ series Eyes of Wakanda 'follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history. In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda. They are the Hatut Zaraze, and this is their story.' In the teaser that was released a couple of weeks ago, we could see that the series will lean into the history and mysteries of Black Panther's home country, showing glimpses of new characters, intense battles, and locations far from the borders of Wakanda. One of the show's stars, Jona Xiao ( Raya and the Last Dragon , Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness ), reinforced the idea of these themes in a recent interview with SuperHeroHype, where she stated: 'The show is much more than just an expansion. It's like this in-depth exploration of, like, the secrets and the history of Wakanda. You actually get to see how Wakanda secretly shapes world history, which is really cool, through the Hatut Zaraze. If you like the Dora Milaje, you'll love this group of covert warriors. You see them do some pretty epic things across continents and across time. There's a lot to look forward to.' When asked about her character in the series, and how it is similar to and different from her previous roles, Xiao said: 'I'm really excited to play such a badass female character. Like several of my other characters that I've played, she's very tough and strong. In terms of differences, I guess you'll have to watch in August to find out.' All four episodes of Eyes of Wakanda are set to hit Disney+ on August 27th.

EYES OF WAKANDA Teaser Promises Hidden Histories and an Interesting New MCU Story — GeekTyrant

Marvel has released a new teaser for Eyes of Wakanda , and it makes one thing clear… there's a lot more to Wakanda's legacy than we've seen so far. The animated series dives deep into Wakandan history. Each episode plays out as its own standalone story, spanning different eras and corners of the world, as elite Wakandan warriors retrieve stolen Vibranium from enemies who have no idea what they're messing with. It's a spiritual cousin to Black Panther, but with a global, time-hopping twist. Eyes of Wakanda 'follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history. In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda. They are the Hatut Zaraze, and this is their story.' The teaser leans into mystery and momentum, showing glimpses of new characters, intense battles, and locations far from the borders of Wakanda. A voiceover teases that 'many secrets' will be uncovered, which sets the tone for something more expansive and mythic than fans may be expecting. Ryan Coogler, the creative force behind Black Panther and Wakanda Forever , is back in the mix as executive producer, bringing along key collaborators like Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian. Head of streaming, television, and animation for Marvel Studios, Brad Winderbaum shared some insight on the series, syaing: ' Eyes of Wakanda , more than any other show, we're doing in animation, ties directly into the MCU. This is a story about Wakandan history ... It's both about the history of Wakanda, but it also expands into the greater MCU at different time periods. So if you're a fan of the movies, I think this show's going to be a real treat.' The voice cast includes an impressive mix of talent: Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Anika Noni Rose, and Steve Toussaint, among others. With Eyes of Wakanda , Marvel is looking to explore untold history, confront stolen legacies, and expand its world in a fresh, animated direction. The series is set to debut on Disney+ on August 27, 2025.

Predator Kills the Marvel Universe Promises Huge Body Count, Sets Release Date

One sought Wolverine as the ultimate challenge. A hunting party invaded Wakanda only to be turned away by Black Panther and his people. An outcast contended with Spider-Man in the urban jungles of New York City. Now, a Yautja king and his court will make Earth into their own happy hunting ground in Predator Kills the Marvel Universe. Predator Kills the Marvel Universe will be the finale of a line of crossovers between the two franchises. It will be written by Benjamin Percy who has overseen the series since the bloody beginning. The artwork will be provided by Marcelo Ferreira, who also illustrated Predator vs. Spider-Man. The story will center around a Predator king empowered by a new arsenal of Vibranium weapons. This, coupled with a surprisingly unlikely human ally, leads to an all-out invasion of Earth. Both heroes and villains will stand against the alien hunters. However, not all of them will make it out alive. The first issue is scheduled for release on August 13. Percy spoke with IGN about the series to date and the accordingly escalated build to Predator Kills the Marvel Universe. 'Over the past few years, I've been having the time of my life writing the Predator Vs. series,' he said. 'The Yautja have hunted Wolverine across the decades. They've battled Black Panther and plundered Wakanda of its Vibranium. And they've faced off against Spider-Man and Kraven during a blackout heatwave in New York. These stories have been patiently building toward something epic. Their interconnectedness will be revealed in this explosive, blood-drenched, five-part story.' Marvel Comics is famed for their explicitly hyperbolic advertising. As such, audiences might be skeptical of a title like Predator Kills the Marvel Universe. However, Percy is adamant that this series' title is no exaggeration. 'That title? It's not misdirection. This one's gonna hurt. Your favorite heroes and villains will fall, even as others rise up against this extinction-level event. The Predator King is here. The Yautja are armed with Vibranium. And Earth is now a hunting preserve.' Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on August 13, 2025.
