Vijayendra Kumeria on Mumbai rains; says ‘It feels like a character; they demand your attention'
Actor
Vijayendra Kumeria
, currently seen as Suraj in Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah, recently shared how Mumbai's
monsoon
has reshaped his everyday life and mindset. Unlike his hometown Ahmedabad, where the rains are relatively subdued, Mumbai's dramatic monsoon has become an emotional experience for him.
'Ahmedabad doesn't get as dramatic a monsoon as Mumbai, so when I moved here, I wasn't prepared for the emotion of it all. The rains in this city feel like a character—they demand your attention,' Vijayendra said, reflecting on how deeply the season now influences his moods and routines.
For the actor, monsoons are more than just weather—they've become a ritual of introspection. 'I make myself a cup of masala tea, put on Kishore Kumar classics, and just sit by the window—no phone, no distractions.
It sounds simple, but it brings me immense peace,' he shared.
On days off, rather than stepping out, Vijayendra prefers staying indoors. 'I love it. It's my time to cook, clean, reorganise my thoughts—and my kitchen!' he laughed, admitting he often ends up making comfort foods like poha or sabudana vadas while enjoying the view of the rain-drenched city.
Monsoon is also a bonding time for his family. 'My daughter loves dancing in the rain, and I let her.

I want her to have those memories too,' he said, adding a personal touch to his fondness for the season.
'Monsoon for me is about slowing down, appreciating the small things, and allowing nostalgia to wrap itself around you,' he concluded.
From quiet windowside reflections to raindrop dances with his daughter, Vijayendra's monsoon diary reminds us how the simplest moments can bring the deepest joy.
