The actor has revealed in several interviews how his father struggled to make ends meet. His mother was a homemaker, and his father worked on a construction site, earning a low salary. As stated by Vikrant Massey, his father's salary would finish by the 15th of every month, and then they began their actual struggle. The Broken But Beautiful actor revealed that he took on odd jobs to contribute to his educational expenses. At a very young age, he began working and earning a living. Massey worked with Shiamak Davar's team for two years and also worked at a coffee shop in Versova at the same time. In fact, during a podcast with Samdish, the Balika Vadhu actor revealed how his close friends' behaviour changed after they visited his small house and saw plastic chairs. As they say, hard work always pays off; the same holds true for the Dil Dhadakne Do star. He made his acting debut in 2007 with Dhoom Machaao Dhoom. However, it was only after his portrayal of Shyam Singh in Balika Vadhu in 2009 that he gained widespread recognition. After working in a couple of hit shows, Massey made his big-screen debut with Vikramaditya Motwane's Lootera in 2013 alongside Ranveer Singh. Since then, there was no looking back for him. The 2023 film 12th Fail marked a significant point in Vikrant Massey's career. His portrayal of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma touched the hearts of everyone. The tables have turned so much for him that, from nowhere, to a net worth ranging between Rs 20 and 26 crore, he has come a long way. He owns a luxurious sea-facing apartment on Madh Island in Mumbai. Chandigarh: Three more arrested in Rs 2.5-crore cyber fraud case
In the ongoing investigation of a Rs 2.5 crore high-profile cyber fraud case involving a fake 'digital arrest' operation, the Cyber Crime Police Station, Chandigarh, has arrested three more accused, taking the total number of arrests to 11. The accused have been identified as Anurag alias Vikrant (23), Abhijeet (24), and Prashant Kumar (20). All are residents of Uttar Pradesh, who have been allegedly involved in the cyber scam. Police have recovered three mobile phones with active SIMs and a set of forged KYC documents from the accused. The case was registered on June 1, 2025, on a complaint filed by Sumit Kaur, a resident of Sector 10-A, Chandigarh. Kaur fell victim to an elaborate cyber fraud on May 3, 2025, after receiving a call falsely claiming to be from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The fraudsters accused her of SIM misuse linked to a money laundering case involving the CEO of Jet Airways. She was then coerced via WhatsApp video calls by imposters posing as senior officials, including a fake DIG CBI, and as Supreme Court judges. Under extreme psychological pressure, the victim was made to take an oath of secrecy and was tricked into transferring her life savings — approximately Rs 2.5 crore — into multiple fraudulently operated accounts under the guise of fund verification. Accused Prashant Kumar was first arrested from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, and revealed he had helped open a fraudulent bank account using someone else's KYC documents, for which he received Rs 54,000. His confession led the police to the arrests of Abhijeet and Anurag, alias Vikrant, from UP on June 27. They admitted to operating fake accounts for a 15 per cent commission and were found in possession of mobile phones and fake KYC documents. Efforts are ongoing to trace the remaining members of the cyber fraud syndicate and to recover the defrauded amount, said the police.

Vikrant Massey Says Many In The Industry Don't Like Him, Still Treat Him As ‘Lesser'
Last Updated: Vikrant Massey revealed that despite his success, some in the film industry still make him feel lesser. He believes such negativity fuels his determination. He's riding high on the success of 12th Fail, but Vikrant Massey says some things never change. The praise may be louder, but so are the whispers of doubt. And he's well aware of them. In a candid chat with IANS, Vikrant opened up about how some people in the industry still treat him as if he doesn't belong. 'There are many people who, from time to time, try to make you feel lesser and they still do. Even today? Yes, even today. There are many who do that. But I believe such people are necessary," he said. The actor was quick to clarify that it's not about being an insider or a star kid. 'No, it's not about a star kid. It's about the kind of people who make you feel small. We shouldn't generalise it," he explained, adding that many star kids have been kind to him. Despite facing dismissiveness from within the industry, Vikrant doesn't let it get under his skin. Instead, he uses it as fuel. 'They help keep the fire inside you burning. I actually think we need people like that—those who challenge you, who look down on you. They still exist, and I'm thankful for their presence," he said. And yes, he's aware not everyone's a fan. 'There are a lot of people who don't like me as an actor. I know that. I won't name them, but they give me the drive to keep going." Asked whether this affects his mental peace, Vikrant responded with clarity. 'Not at all. In fact, it works in my favour. There are so many who think, 'Oh, he's not a good actor.' Some even believe I'm overrated. So, when my film does well, it feels good—I prove them wrong. That's what keeps me going." For him, that sense of being underestimated is no longer a burden, it's become his power. 'That's the driving force for me. That feeling stays with you—it's very important," he said. On the work front, Vikrant is gearing up for the release of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, a romantic drama opposite Shanaya Kapoor. Directed by Santosh Singh, the film is set to hit theatres on July 11.
