AKTU centres to aid industry collab with engg instts
Lucknow: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University will establish four centres of excellence at its four affiliated institutes in state at a cost of Rs 140 crore to enhance research, education and industry collaboration and will include specialised training, access to cutting-edge technologies, industry-oriented projects and opportunities for students and faculty to engage in impactful research and development.
Budget sanctioned will be spent by AKTU on developing these centres to promote skills of students of core branches and enhance technical education in UP. Each centre, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories, will focus on specific engineering domains.
Centres of excellence will be set up at Institute of Engineering and Technology Lucknow, Kamala Nehru Institute of Technology Sultanpur, Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jhansi and UP Institute of Design, Noida, with partial support from industry.
"The centres of excellence in different departments will be a hub for students, faculty and even industry professionals to collaborate, develop skills and contribute to advancements in their respective fields," said Prof Vineet Kansal, IET director, adding, it would help hone skills of students in core branches of engineering. The initiative aligns with the National Education Policy's emphasis on practical learning and industry engagement.
