Mahindra registers 14 per cent growth in June 2025, marks its best quarter for SUVs
Mahindra & Mahindra marked its best-ever quarter for SUV sales in June 2025, achieving an 18 per cent Y-o-Y growth. Notify me Mahindra & Mahindra registered a 14 per cent year-on-year increase in total auto sales for June 2025, with volumes hitting 78,969 units across all segments. The growth in sales was driven by sustained demand within the utility vehicles and three-wheeler segments. This aided the company in concluding its best-ever quarter for SUV sales, marking an 18 per cent Y-o-Y growth in the segment. In the passenger vehicles segment, domestic SUV sales stood out with 47,306 units sold in June 2025, compared to the 40,022 units sold in the same month last year. The company sold a total of 48,329 utility vehicles during the month, including exports. Mahindra reported total domestic commercial vehicle sales of 20,575 units. Within the segment, three-wheeler sales saw a strong 37 per cent jump to 8,454 units, up from 6,180 units in the year-ago period. Everything to expect Commenting on the performance, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra's Automotive Division, said that June capped off the company's best-ever quarter for SUV sales. 'In June, we achieved SUV sales of 47,306 units, a growth of 18 per cent, and total vehicle sales of 78,969 units, a 14 per cent growth compared to the same month last year," he said. Mahindra sales in the Farm Equipment Sector (FES): In June 2025, Mahindra registered total tractor sales of 53,392 units, marking a 13 per cent year-on-year sales growth. Domestic sales totalled 51,769 units, up from 45,888 units in the same period last year. Total tractor exports additionally grew by 13 per cent, with 1,623 units shipped to international markets. The SUV now comes equipped with 10 Level 2 ADAS features in the top-spec Z8L trim across both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The Indian manufacturer has further added a new Z8T variant with more features to the Scorpio-N lineup. This is positioned between the Z8 and Z8L and carries an ex-showroom price tag of ₹ 20.29 lakh. Mahindra Vision.T concept teased ahead of August 15 unveil. Is it the Thar e.?
Mahindra and Mahindra has sparked excitement with the first teaser of its upcoming Vision.T concept vehicle, set to be unveiled on August 15, 2025, coinciding with India's Independence Day. The reveal will take place at the company's Freedom_NU event in Mumbai, where Mahindra is expected to showcase its vision for a lot of projects. The tyres and the bonnet hinge suggest that the Vision.T could be the electric Thar. advertisementThe Vision.T concept, teased with a striking silhouette, appears to build on the rugged, boxy design language of the Thar.e concept, an off-road SUV concept first showcased in 2023. The teaser suggests it could preview a closer-to-production electric version of the legendary off-roader, blending Mahindra's off-road DNA with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology. The teaser, shared across social media platforms, hints at a versatile new platform, dubbed 'Nu,' which will likely support multiple powertrains. The Freedom_NU event is also expected to spotlight additional concept vehicles and The concept of the Thar.e was unveiled at Mahindra's Futurescape event in Cape Town, South Africa on 15 August, 2023. The event also saw the unveiling of the global tractor brand OJA and the Scorpio-N based pickup truck. The Mahindra Thar.e stands out as a distinctive SUV, featuring modular components that can be swapped or adapted as needed, allowing it to transform from a rugged off-roader into a more urban-friendly vehicle in theory. Although it strongly resembles a concept car, it carries signature Thar family elements, such as squircle-shaped headlamps with LED DRLs and a vertically slatted front that echoes the Thar's iconic grille. The SUV rides on the INGLO platform, introduced last year, but for the Thar.e, it has been specially modified and is known as the INGLO Thar.e sports sharp, geometric body panels that lend it both a futuristic look and off-road capability. It's equipped with large off-road wheels, short overhangs, and spacious wheel arches, and distinguishes itself from the current-generation Thar with its five-door configuration. Inside, the cabin is designed to be minimalist yet practical, featuring straight lines complemented by grab handles, a smartly positioned rotating display, and an uncluttered layout. While the Thar.e is still in development, Mahindra has revealed that its wheelbase will range between 2,775mm and 2,975mm. The SUV is expected to offer a ground clearance of 250mm to 300mm, with a front overhang measuring between 640mm and 680mm, and a rear overhang ranging from 640mm to 740mm. Although specific powertrain details are yet to be disclosed, the Thar.e will feature a dual-motor setup with identical motors at each axle.
