Moment The Chase's Bradley Walsh accepts ‘incorrect' answer from Jenny Ryan

Watch as Bradley Walsh accepts an 'incorrect' answer from The Chase 's 'The Vixen' on Monday (30 June). In the final round of the repeat episode, with £3,000 up for grabs for contestants Laura and Nick, Walsh asked Jenny Ryan: 'What colour indicates semi-skimmed milk on bottles?' After mulling over her answer, Ryan said: 'Red and silver', to which Walsh replied: 'I'll accept'. Puzzled fans took to social media to complain that host Walsh had allowed an incorrect answer, with the final contestants just one question away from winning. "Semi skimmed milk tops are green' one argued, with another stating: 'Weird he just accepted a wrong answer'. However, some pointed out that Ryan was likely referring to less common glass bottles, which have a red lid.

The Chase fans fume 'what is going on' as Jenny Ryan sparks 'fix' row

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The Chase fans fumed "what is going on" as Jenny Ryan sparked a "fix" row on Monday (June 30). During yesterday's rerun episode, the Vixen faced off against an all-new team comprising Nick from Liverpool, Laura from Bolton, Aiden from Falkirk, and Vivienne from Bracknell. Following the preliminary rounds, only Laura and Nick advanced to the final chase, clutching onto a modest jackpot of £3,000 after narrowly avoiding capture by Jenny. With a challenging beginning, the duo accumulated a respectable 14-point lead before Jenny tackled the concluding questions. It was during these final moments when host Bradley Walsh asked: "What colour indicates semi-skimmed milk on bottles?" reports the Express. (Image: ITV) Jenny confidently declared: "Red and silver," which Bradley immediately acknowledged as correct. However, the show's viewers were quick to voice their frustration on social platforms, insisting that the answer was incorrect, while suggesting that the game had been fixed. "Excuse me? Semi-skimmed is GREEN! Incorrect answer from #TheVixen given as correct? They were one correct answer away from winning!" one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another added: "Semi-skimmed milk carton tops are Green (or white), NOT RED, which is skimmed milk... What is going on here?" A third said: "Am I going mad? I'm sure the question was about the colour of tops on semi-skimmed milk. The Chaser said red and silver... it's green. Or did I mishear?" (Image: ITV) Jenny's answer wasn't entirely incorrect - red and silver tops are indeed used for semi-skimmed milk in glass bottles, which are less common than the plastic containers found in supermarkets. In UK supermarkets, semi-skimmed milk is typically identified by a green top, with red for skimmed and blue for full-fat. Despite the technicality, fans continued to voice their disapproval. One disgruntled viewer pointed out: "What's the point of asking a question when there's a degree of ambiguity towards the correct answer? That question should never have been allowed - it cost them the game." (Image: ITV) The episode had already caused a stir earlier when two contestants chose lower offers, slashing the potential prize fund by £6,000. Former police officer Nick shocked everyone when he decided to go for a mere £2,000 after accumulating £7,000 in the cash builder and being tempted by a £30,000 offer from the Vixen. He confessed: "I'm going to shock you," before choosing the lower sum, leaving even Bradley taken aback as he responded: "Yeah, that is shocking." Ultimately, Nick and Laura reached the final chase with just £3,000 in hand and narrowly missed out on victory. In a tense showdown with Jenny, they were caught just seconds from the finish line. The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 at 5pm

ITV The Chase's Bradley Walsh halts show as Jenny Ryan makes rare admission

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Bradley Walsh brought The Chase to an unexpected standstill when Jenny Ryan's revelation left him utterly gobsmacked. In Thursday's episode of the hit ITV quiz show, Bradley greeted contestants Mark, Izzie, James and Annie as they faced off against The Vixen. Solihull's mature student Mark bagged £7,000 in his cash builder and was the first to make it to the final chase after a face-off with Jenny. Following on was Izzie, who also put up a strong show with £5,000. She, like Mark, opted for the middle offer. During their head-to-head, they were quizzed: "What is the subject of the 2020 Netflix documentary series High Score?" Both Izzie and Jenny nailed it with "video games", prompting Bradley to probe: "What's the highest score you've ever got on a video game?" The Vixen wasn't sure but concurred with Bradley that it was likely quite high. "You can get ridiculously high scores on the kind of games I play, like Lego Avengers." (Image: ITV) Just as Jenny began to divulge a score she'd racked up, Bradley interjected. "Hold the line," he declared, probing: "Did you just say Lego adventures?" Once Jenny set the record straight about the game, Bradley couldn't resist a cheeky dig at his colleague. "What about the ones adults play?" he quipped, eliciting chuckles from Jenny. "What about things like Minecraft and Fortnight? Aren't they adult ones?" The Vixen clapped back: "All games are adult and potentially child-friendly games." The round went on, but soon enough Izzie was eliminated after being caught by Jenny. Secondary school teacher James managed to secure £4,000 in his initial round before bravely taking the higher offer of £40,000. (Image: ITV) Despite a valiant effort, James ultimately got caught by the chaser. The last contestant, Annie, aimed to win some cash to replace an engagement ring she'd lost over 45 years ago, which her partner had given her. She garnered a commendable £8,000 in her cash builder and fortunately for Mark, made it through to the final chase. In the final, Mark and Annie played for £15,000, ending with a total of 13 points. Jenny experienced a rocky start in the final chase, only answering three questions correctly within the first 55 seconds. Nonetheless, The Vixen managed to turn things around, catching the pair with merely three seconds to spare. At the close of the game, Jenny remarked: "I have astonished myself that I managed to catch you as you saw I struggled to build a rhythm." The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1.

Grimacing Bradley Walsh roars 'what's the matter with you?!' as The Chase player 'injures' him minutes into show

A grimacing Bradley Walsh roared 'what's the matter with you?!' when a player on The Chase 'injured' him mid-show. Wednesday's instalment of the ITV show saw Niall, Philip, Amy and Alexia take on Jenny Ryan, known as The Vixen, in an attempt to win some cash. Niall, from Falkirk, was up first and bagged a respectable £6,000 for the team, but when Bradley went to congratulate him, things took a turn. The host held out his hand to shake and said, 'Well played Niall'. However, when the player shook Bradley's hand, the TV star exclaimed: 'Oh you've got a strong handshake, that's unnecessary that!' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Bradley tentatively cupped his hand as the audience laughed and Niall replied: 'Sorry Bradley.' 'What's the matter with you?!' the host roared back. The other players laughed as Bradley went on, 'I've got to shake everybody's hand and you've hurt me now, it's unnecessary.' Niall continued to apologise as he returned to his seat. Bradley smiled at the camera and joked, 'Like a pincer movement! Thought he was going to throw me there.' By the end of the episode, all four players made it back to the table and built up an impressive prize pot of £22,000. However, when they took on Chaser Jenny one last time in the final round, they fell short and were beat. It comes after fans of The Chase raged 'enough is enough' and blasted an 'incredibly annoying' problem with the show. Tuesday's instalment of the ITV quiz programme, hosted by Bradley Walsh , saw four players, Andy, Jan, Billy and Hannah take on Chaser Darragh Ennis, known as The Menace. In the end, the entire team made it to the final chase against Darragh with a prize pot of £8,000. They managed to beat the Chaser with just one point remaining between them. But viewers were left frustrated with something completely unrelated to the game play. Gala Bingo adverts played in the intervals due to the company sponsoring The Chase. Some fans expressed on X, formerly Twitter, how they were 'sick' of seeing the ad and posted: 'Absolutely sick to death of those #Galabingo ads before, after and during #thechase. Enough is enough please.' The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 from 5pm and is available to stream on ITVX.
