Savona forced off with injury
Manchester City turned in arguably the performance of the Club World Cup so far with a 5-2 hammering of Juventus in Group G. It ensured the Premier League side would finish top, meaning they will likely avoid Real Madrid in the last 16. There were a couple of early goals as Teun Koopmeiners cancelled out Jeremy Doku's opening goal all inside 11 minutes but then it was all City. An unfortunate Pierre Kalulu own goal made it 2-1 before substitutes Erling Haaland and Phil Foden added a third and fourth. A super strike from Savinho made it 5-1 before Dusan Vlahovic clawed one back in the 84th minute. Possible strikers AC Milan could target this summer
Possible strikers AC Milan could target this summer AC Milan are gearing up for a new era under new manager Massimiliano Allegri, who has returned to San Siro after 11 years. Luka Modric is set to become the first of many signings in what promises to be a busy summer transfer window. Advertisement While a plethora of midfielders continue to get linked with Milan, signing a striker will be as important. The Rossoneri paid €32 million for Santiago Gimenez in February, but the Mexican has failed to replicate the sublime form he showed at Feyenoord. Alvaro Morata, who was signed last summer, struggled to make an impact before moving to Galatasaray on loan in the winter transfer window. Luka Jovic and Tammy Abraham are also on the verge of leaving San Siro this summer. Here are the possible centre forwards Milan could target this summer Dusan Vlahovic The Serbian striker has been heavily linked with a move to Milan, with Allegri looking for a reunion after working with him at Juventus. Advertisement Vlahovic's future appears to lie far away from Juventus, who are open to cashing in on him this summer before his deal expires in a year. The former Fiorentina man has had mixed success with the Old Lady, failing to live up to his hefty €70 million transfer fee. A lot can be attributed to the Old Lady's collective decline in recent years, with Inter Milan and Napoli knocking them off their perch. Nevertheless, Vlahovic's talent is undeniable, and he can reach the top in the right environment. Vlahovic has a similar profile to Gimenez – tall, physical, predatory instincts inside the box and good build-up play. Advertisement Juve want to recoup at least €30 million from Vlahovic, and Milan can provide him with an escape route to revive his career. Moise Kean Kean has reinvented himself at Fiorentina after bagging 25 goals and four assists last season. The Italian's stock has skyrocketed, with several European heavyweights and Saudi clubs hot on his trail. Milan are among the interested parties for the former Everton star, but La Viola are trying to keep him for next season. Goncalo Ramos Goncalo Ramos provides an excellent opportunity for Milan as he faces an uncertain future at Paris Saint-Germain. The Portuguese striker has slipped down the pecking order under manager Luis Enrique following his €80m move from Benfica. Advertisement Still, Ramos has displayed his class and finishing prowess even with the limited opportunities, playing a part in PSG's treble last season. Ousmane Dembele has found unprecedented success after being converted into a No.9 and will continue to play in his newfound position next season. PSG might look to count Ramos as an ideal backup unless a huge offer knocks on their door. Milan need a young forward to spearhead their attack for years to come, and Ramos can be a top addition. Mateo Retegui Retegui enjoyed a breathtaking 2024/25 campaign with Atalanta, finishing as Serie A's top scorer with 25 goals. Advertisement He racked up 37 goal contributions in total to fortify his status as one of the finest strikers in Europe. The 26-year-old would be a brilliant signing for Milan, but it would be difficult to prise him away from Atalanta. Especially, the absence of Champions League football at Milan next season may not appeal to Retegui.

Update: Date: 2025-06-26T18:00:41.000Z Title: Preamble Content: Manchester City have to beat Juventus tonight if they're to win Group G. But what the reward for that will be is anyone's guess. We know they'd play the runners-up in Group H, but given the manner in which Real Madrid have so far underwhelmed, and Al Hilal have impressed, there are no certain outcomes there, and that's before we bring Red Bull Salzburg into the equation. So with the winners of Group H awaiting the Group G runners-up, and any combination of 1-2-3 possible in Group H later tonight, it's a toss of a coin as things stand. City and Juve might as well treat this as a dry run for the knockouts, and what will be, will be. Kick-off in Orlando, Florida is at 8pm UK time, 3pm local. It's on! 1. Dusan Vlahovic already sent Ruben Amorim telling message amid Man Utd swap deal
Dusan Vlahovic has made it clear what Manchester United and Ruben Amorim can expect from him if he completes a swap deal from Juventus this summer, with Jadon Sancho potentially going the opposite way Dusan Vlahovic has let Ruben Amorim know exactly the type of player Manchester United could be getting if they sign him this summer, saying he 'likes pressure' and is 'totally dedicated' to football. The Juventus striker has been linked with the Red Devils this week as part of a swap deal which would see him join United and Jadon Sancho head to Turin. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serbian is deemed surplus to requirements at Juventus, who will try to offload him while securing United wantaway Sancho. Amorim is currently in the market for a new striker and, with Vlahovic inside the final 12 months of his contract, swapping Sancho for the 25-year-old could be a financially savvy move. United have been guilty of splashing out huge sums of money in recent years on various players who have crumbled under the bright Old Trafford lights, becoming a shadow of the players they once were. But Vlahovic presents a low-risk transfer opportunity both economically and due to the fact that he prides himself on his mental strength. When asked by The Telegraph if he feels any pressure back in 2022, the Serbia international was almost insulted by the suggestion. He said: 'I like pressure. I like high expectations because I like the kind of adrenalin that comes out. I have never really suffered too much from pressure. Maybe when I was younger but not now and in 10 years time I will probably feel even better about it. I don't really care too much when people talk about pressure.' The expectations are indeed high at United, where the team is expected to win silverware and qualify for Europe next season despite finishing near the relegation zone this term. Yet, Vlahovic appears to have the appetite to succeed - something Amorim undoubtedly values highly. He added: 'I never want to rest. I am dedicated 24/7 and when I go home, what do I do? I watch football matches! I watch to have fun, to enjoy, but also to learn and improve. You notice things and figure them out and think, 'I could have done this or that.' 'I like spending time with my family, who have always been my force, and friends. I don't like video games. I am not very good at them. I prefer going for a walk! 'In the past I had the time to read books, but not now. Basically I am completely dedicated to football and, for me, it's only the beginning, by the way. The best is yet to come.' It remains to be seen, however, if Vlahovic would entertain a move to the struggling Premier League side. He is said to have been 'unreceptive' to previous offers to leave Juventus and already snubbed proposals from Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Vlahovic is also no stranger to Premier League links. He was pursued by Arsenal before signing for Juve in a £60million deal back in 2021 and has also been the subject of interest from Chelsea in the past. Juventus are expected to push to sign Sancho, who is no longer wanted at Old Trafford, even if Vlahovic is not part of the deal. Gazzetta dello Sport claims they are willing to offer other players to United in a bid to get a deal for the winger over the line, including midfielder Douglas Luiz. Sancho is expected to leave the Red Devils on a permanent deal after Chelsea paid £5m to waive their obligation to buy clause at the end of his unsuccessful season-long loan move at Stamford Bridge. Napoli have also been credited with an interest in Sancho's services, but Juve are pushing to beat the Italian champions to a deal. Man Utd target Dusan Vlahovic was completely shown up by £50m ace Liverpool want
Manchester United have been linked with a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has already faced Premier League stars Manchester United have been linked with Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic, who has come up against Premier League defenders in the past. The Serbian striker was signed for £60million from Fiorentina in 2022, but could be on his way out of Turin this summer. Vlahovic, 25, scored 16 goals across all competitions for the Old Lady this season. He has since been touted as a target for United as Juventus reportedly explore a possible swap deal for Jadon Sancho. The winger is set to enter the final year of his United contract and is not thought to be in manager Ruben Amorim's plans after his Chelsea loan spell failed to materialise into a permanent move. However, if Vlahovic does join the Premier League as part of a swap deal, he will hope to perform better against England defender Marc Guehi, who is wanted by Liverpool. Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that Juventus are willing to offer players in exchange for Sancho, who is also said to be on Napoli's radar. Vlahovic has been named as one option and former Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz is said to be another alternative. Vlahovic has been described as 'unreceptive' to previous offers to leave Juventus, having attracted interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia. However, the chance to lead the line for United could convince the forward. He has limited experience against English clubs, scoring in a Champions League group stage win over Manchester City in November. However, Vlahovic did line up for Serbia against England in their opening game at Euro 2024, where he endured a tough evening against Guehi. The centre-back was selected by Gareth Southgate to replace the injured Harry Maguire, despite his relative inexperience at international level. Crystal Palace captain Guehi stepped up to the challenge and appeared composed alongside John Stones as the Three Lions earned a 1-0 win. Vlahovic, partnered by ex-Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic, barely had a touch in the first-half as England stifled Serbia's physical front two. It proved to be a landmark performance from Guehi, who has since attracted interest from Liverpool. The Palace defender is another who is set to enter the last 12 months of his deal after failing to agree to a new contract with Oliver Glasner's side. Reluctant to let one of their prize assets leave for free next year, the FA Cup winners are expected to sell Guehi this summer. Liverpool have expressed interest in Guehi this summer as they look to bolster their centre-back options. Arne Slot's side are searching for a central defender following Jarell Quasah's move to Bayer Leverkusen. Palace have set a £50m asking price for Guehi, according to talkSPORT. Liverpool have already been busy in the transfer market after agreeing deals for Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez. Meanwhile, as United consider Sancho's future, the club have also begun rebuilding their team. Matheus Cunha has arrived from Wolves and the club have improved their offer for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
