Abdi-Rahman Khaliif-Ali, pictured above, targeted the unnamed officer who was posing as a lost drunk in a sting operation. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up Khaliif-Ali, 27, pounced in London's West End, demanding he hand over the £45,000 Sky-Dweller. When the cop revealed who he was, the thief grabbed his neck and put a hand over his mouth and nose. A homeless man tried to intervene and a female officer was punched in the face while she detained the robber days before Christmas. The cop, who had helped victims of the 2017 London Bridge attacks, said: 'I felt safer at a terrorist attack than I did during the incident. "I realised I was on my own and fighting for my life.' Gambling addict and paranoid schizophrenic Khaliif-Ali, of Ealing, had previously admitted assault with intent to rob and intentional strangulation. "Yesterday he got a life term with a minimum of four years and nine months at Southwark crown court. In 2018 he had been detained under the Mental Health Act for wounding with intent. A conflict between contestants Uorfi Javed and Apoorva Mukhija has come to light, with both parties offering different accounts of a tense incident that occurred on set. The confrontation reportedly began when Uorfi approached a visibly emotional Apoorva to ask why she was crying. According to Uorfi, she was met with a sharp response from Apoorva, which she found disrespectful. The moment, though brief, sparked a larger emotional reaction from Uorfi, who has since addressed the incident in a series of Instagram stories. 'I literally didn't want to do any of this, I'm feel pathetic right now after seeing Apoorva's YouTube video,' Uorfi said in her statement. 'She is painting me like a villain, which I am not. I am literally shivering right now.' Uorfi went on to explain the context, claiming that the day prior, Apoorva allegedly mocked another contestant, Jannat, for crying over missing her parents. 'I'll tell you what happened. One day before, Jannat was crying for her parents, tabhi Apoorva mujhse bolti hai 'Kya ye parents ke liye ro rahi hai, kya ye pagalpanti hai.' The next day when she started crying, I went to her nicely to ask what had happened." Johann Rupert, SA golfers to join Ramaphosa-Trump meeting
The stage is set for the anticipated heated and robust meeting between Ramaphosa and US President Donald Trump. President Cyril Ramaphosa exits the plane in Washington. He is expected to meet with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday. Renowned businessman Johann Rupert and golfers Ernie Els and Retief Goosen are expected to join President Cyril Ramaphosa's South African delegation when he meets his US counterpart, Donald Trump. The stage is set for the anticipated heated and robust meeting between Ramaphosa and Trump, expected to take place at the White House on Wednesday. 'Good discussions' There is speculation about how the meeting will go, with fears Ramaphosa is walking into a 'Zelensky-style ambush', referring to the viral clash that took place when Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the White House in February which was broadcast live on television. Ramaphosa told journalists in Washington that he was hoping for 'really good' discussions with Trump and his administration. 'I'm looking forward to a really good and positive meeting, and we're looking forward to a very good outcome for our country, for our people, for the jobs in our country and good trade relations and [normalising] relations between our two countries.' Ramaphosa was not fazed that he may face 'humiliation' similar to the shouting match involving Trump, his deputy JD Vance and Zelensky. 'Well, South Africans are never humiliated, are they? Rupert, Els and Goosen While Rupert, South Africa's richest man, Els and Goosen will be part of Ramaphosa's delegation, it is understood the South African bord billionaire and owner Starlink, SpaceX and Tesla will not be at the highly anticipated meeting. According to a News24 report, it was Rupert who facilitated the meeting amid escalating tensions between the US and South Africa that was ramped when 49 Afrikaners were given refugee status by Trump. 'Ernie Els was actually the person who, over the past month, talked Trump into agreeing to the meeting,' said Rupert. Both Els and Rupert are currently in Washington and have been closely involved in the process of getting Ramaphosa and Trump around a table.
