Dayton Flyers to play at UC for first time since 2010
The Dayton Flyers will face the Cincinnati Bearcats at Fifth Third Arena for the first time in 15 years. Richmond has red hair and green eyes and was last seen wearing black pants and a black hoodie. Man arrested, accused of sex offence with child under 10-years-old
A man was arrested Friday by Miamisburg police after they investigated a report saying there was a potential offense, according to the Miamisburg Police Department. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] The man, 56-year-old Michael Wootan, is charged with two counts of gross sexual imposition and two counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material, both of which are felonies. Police say they received a report concerning a sex offence with a child under the age of 10. An investigation led to a warrant for a house on the 300 block of Richard Street. Officer shoots armed man after he runs from them; Police to provide update
Police are expected to provide an update on Thursday's officer-involved shooting this afternoon. As News Center 7 previously reported, the shooting happened at Miller and Hoover avenues around 1:15 p.m., just feet from the Dayton city limit. Dayton Police Chief Kamran Afzal said his officers were working 'targeted enforcement' with the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Aviation Unit. Afzal said that is where a man in a pickup truck was blocking officers' way, and they told him to get out of the way. According to Chief Afzal, the man had a gun. 'At some point, he does get out of the vehicle with what appears to be a handgun in his right hand and runs. The officers engage him at that point, and one of our officers does discharge his handgun,' the chief said. Afzal said the man who was shot is at the hospital in 'stable' condition.
