Police pushing ‘safe exchange zones' amid dozens of Facebook Marketplace thefts

Facebook Marketplace thefts are trending in the area, leading police to highlight spots around the city aimed at making those exchanges safer. So far this year, there have been 40 instances where people have lost money on Facebook Marketplace in Dayton. Several firefighters extinguished a house fire in Dayton early Friday morning. 'My house is on fire!' she yelled. 'Oh my god, oh my god.' The dispatcher asked where the fire was. 'It's the stove in the kitchen, the kitchen, the kitchen!' she answered. We will see warm temperatures today before chances for rain increase this weekend. Ritz says temperatures could reach the upper 80s. We will also see more clouds than sun. Part of the region is under an Air Quality Alert today. This means ozone levels may approach or exceed unhealthy standards, according to Ritz. To reduce ozone levels, you can do the following: Carpool Refuel your vehicle Do not idle your vehicle Mow your lawn during the evening hours and avoid using gas-powered lawn equipment. Ritz says it could be a wet Father's Day weekend. Scattered showers and storms are possible late Friday afternoon into early evening. There is a level 1 of 4 (marginal) risk to the north. According to Storm Center 7 Weather Specialist Nick Dunn, this outlook highlights the threat of rainfall that can lead to flash flooding. While heavy rainfall is not expected to impact everyone in the Miami Valley, those who do get rain could see flooding issues if the rainfall is repetitive over the same areas.
