Steelers Could Be In Play For Commanders WR Terry McLaurin
Steelers Could Be In Play For Commanders WR Terry McLaurin originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Washington Commanders' star wideout Terry McLaurin is entering the final year of his deal and is ready to sign another contract extension. Advertisement That sounds great for Commanders fans. The only problem is that the team doesn't seem as eager, and it's gotten to the point of "frustration" for McLaurin. "I've been pretty frustrated, I'm not going to lie," he said, per NBC4 Washington's JP Finlay. "Everything that has transpired up until this point has been disappointing and frustrating. I want to continue my career here. I've created my life here. My wife and I bought our first home here. This has been somewhere I've always wanted to be." McLaurin was the No. 76 overall pick in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. He signed a three-year, $68.2 million extension in 2022 and would like to continue and finish his career with the Commanders franchise. With training camp approaching, McLaurin says he's still "undecided" on if he'll attend just yet. Advertisement "Honestly, I haven't decided that yet, I'm trying to take things day by day," he said. "I think that's the disappointing part where I was hoping up until this point things would clear up a lot more than they have and so I haven't made that decision yet and I'm just going to see how the rest of this week goes and take it day by day and go from there." In six seasons and 97 games, the former Buckeye has posted 6,379 yards on 460 catches with 38 touchdowns. If McLaurin and the team can't come to terms on a new deal then the Commanders could be forced to make a trade rather than lose him in free agency next season. That opens the door for the Steelers to make an offer that could pair McLaurin with D.K. Metcalf, who Pittsburgh acquired earlier this offseason via a trade with Seattle. Bandra station crackdown: ₹500 fine for spitting, littering as officials tighten cleanliness norms
MUMBAI: As the Bandra railway station plays host to the colourful Station Mahotsav, launched on July 5, railway authorities have decided to clamp down on a far less festive issue—spitting and littering. A recent inspection by senior Western Railway (WR) officials has revived the long-standing demand for stricter enforcement of cleanliness norms at this 19th-century Grade I heritage site. Mumbai, India - July 12, 2025: The railways will be levying fines on people who litter or spit inside rail premises at Bandra in Mumbai, India, on Wednesday, July 12, 2025. (Photo by Satish Bate/ Hindustan Times) (Hindustan Times) The move comes after officials, during a routine visit amid the ongoing celebrations, spotted fresh paan stains marring the freshly scrubbed walls of the building, which dates back to 1888 in Victorian Era. Despite Bandra station being decked up with cultural programmes, exhibitions and artistic competitions, its visual charm was undercut by tell-tale signs of civic apathy. 'We found red stains on walls even though contractors had been asked to ensure the building remained spotless during the festival,' a senior WR official told this newspaper. 'We are now introducing a dedicated receipt book for ticket checkers to issue ₹500 fines to those caught spitting or littering. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has also been asked to take action against offenders.' The revised fine of ₹500, up from ₹200 earlier, was officially notified in February. According to WR officials, between April 2024 and January 2025, over 2,300 cases of spitting and littering were registered, amounting to nearly ₹6 lakh in fines collected. The Commercial Department is compiling further data to assess the behavioural trends and improve enforcement. The decision to revive enforcement was formally taken at the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) meeting held on July 10, where passenger representatives raised concerns about hygiene, beggars, loiterers, and train punctuality. 'We urged railway officials to penalise those who deface public spaces. WR also informed us that additional CCTVs are being installed inside trains to deter unwanted elements,' said Rajiv Singhal, DRUCC member. Sources confirmed that Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Pankaj Singh had personally visited Bandra station and expressed displeasure over the state of maintenance. He reportedly pulled up the cleaning contractors for shabby upkeep of platforms and toilets. One of the recurring complaints, officials said, was that insufficient cleaning manpower and careless littering by commuters were making the job harder. 'To cut costs, contractors are deploying fewer cleaning staff, which is affecting station hygiene. Corners of platforms and track ends are often neglected. We will now focus on catching people who litter, to help maintain higher standards of cleanliness,' a senior official said. Bandra Station Mahotsav: Blending heritage with celebration Launched on July 5, the Bandra Station Mahotsav has turned the bustling transit hub into a venue of cultural celebration. The festival kicked off with a vibrant performance by a troupe of African drummers and includes a series of competitions and exhibitions designed to spotlight the station's legacy and community connections. As part of the festivities: A commemorative postal cover will be released on July 27 at the closing ceremony. Cultural performances by local artists, vlog-making contests, and art competitions have been organised. The 'Purani Yaadein' contest invites citizens to share photos, videos, and voice clips of their cherished memories connected to the station. Creative submissions under Art & Craft include drawings, paintings, digital artwork, and clay models inspired by the station's heritage. The final date for submissions across events is July 20, while the closing ceremony on July 27 will also mark the official inauguration of the postal cover. A legacy worth preserving Declared a Grade I heritage structure under the Maharashtra Government's 1995 heritage regulations, Bandra Station is a rare architectural blend of Victorian Gothic and Indian styles. Originally opened in 1864, the current heritage station building was constructed in 1888. Its gabled roofs, pointed arches and ornate detailing continue to charm thousands of commuters who pass through its portals daily.

Nation's No. 2 WR Names Two SEC Powerhouses as Leaders in Recruitment
Nation's No. 2 WR Names Two SEC Powerhouses as Leaders in Recruitment originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The LSU Tigers have a case for being the foremost receiver developers in college football. Billy Napier's Florida Gators are going toe-to-toe with them for one of the best recruits in the country at that position, five-star Easton Royal. Advertisement 'LSU and Florida are at the top for Rivals' 2027 No. 2 WR Easton Royal, he tells @samspiegs,' Rivals wrote Tuesday on X. ''Those are definitely the two schools leading right now.'' Royal registered 1,149 all-purpose yards and 14 total touchdowns as a sophomore at New Orleans' Brother Martin High School. He also ran a 10.38-second 100-meter dash on the track this past season. He's tabbed as the No. 3 receiver in 247Sports' composite rankings, behind only Ohio State Buckeyes commit Jamier Brown (No. 1) and Monshun Sales (No. 2). According to that same recruiting service, the Gators haven't yet offered Royal, who does have SEC offers from Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M. At the moment, Florida's lone Class of 2027 wideout pledge is three-star Tramond Collins. Florida Gators head coach Billy Bush-Imagn Images Rivals ranked Royal as the No. 6 overall performer at the Under Armour Future 50 late last month. Another in that bunch included fellow Louisianan and No. 1 Class of 2027 quarterback Elijah Haven, who's also expressed interest in joining Napier's program. Haven is also interested in LSU and Ohio State. Advertisement Four-star receivers Julius Jones and Osani Gayles, respectively ranked No. 56 and No. 50 in 247Sports' Class of 2027 composite rankings, also stood out at the event. Florida has offered both. From dumping ground to depot: Mumbai's first Vande Bharat rail depot to come up near Ram Mandir station
MUMBAI: A neglected patch of railway land strewn with debris between Jogeshwari and Ram Mandir stations is set for a major upgrade. Western Railway (WR) has identified this site—currently a dumping ground for muck, abandoned coaches, and rail material—as the location for Mumbai's first dedicated depot for the new-generation Vande Bharat and Vande Sleeper trains. Mumbai, India - June 28, 2025: An exclusive maintenance depot for Vande Bharat trains will be set up between Ram Mandir and Jogeshwari stations on the east Mumbai, India, on Saturday, June 28, 2025. (Photo by Satish Bate/ Hindustan Times) (Hindustan Times) Senior WR officials confirmed that preliminary work on the project will begin shortly. Once operational, the depot will initially cater to 5–10 trains and eventually expand to service and stable up to 50 high-speed trains. These Vande series trains, designed to run at speeds of up to 160 kmph, are part of Indian Railways' push to modernise and reduce travel times on key intercity routes. 'We have identified a six acre land parcel between Jogeshwari and Ram Mandir stations. This will be a dedicated facility for the Vande series. Our infrastructure is nearly ready for 160 kmph operations, and the Jogeshwari Terminus project is progressing well too,' said Ashok Kumar Misra, General Manager, WR. The Indian Railways has asked both Western and Central Railway to identify locations exclusively for Vande Bharat depots. While Central Railway has shortlisted Wadi Bunder near CSMT, WR has chosen the stretch adjoining the Western Express Highway for ease of connectivity and expansion. Currently, the site bears signs of neglect, with rundown coaches, overgrown vegetation, and construction debris. However, once cleared, the area has the potential to be developed into a full-fledged stabling and maintenance depot. WR has already earmarked land in Sabarmati and Indore for similar depots. The depot's proximity to the upcoming Jogeshwari Terminus is strategic. Scheduled to open later this year, this will be Mumbai's first greenfield rail terminus in over three decades—after the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT). Built at a cost of ₹ 77 crore, the terminus will feature three platforms (one island and one home platform), each 600 metres long and capable of handling 24-coach trains. Equipped with parking zones for autos and cabs, it is expected to decongest overloaded terminals like Dadar, Bandra, and Mumbai Central. At least 24 long-distance trains to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi are expected to be operated from this station daily. Sources said the depot's development will increase the likelihood of Vande Bharat trains originating from Jogeshwari, especially as the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor prepares for 160 kmph operations by August. While the Vande Bharat and Sleeper variants are approved for these speeds, older premium trains like the Rajdhani and Shatabdi will need special permissions to run faster. 'The larger vision is to shift passengers from short-haul flights by offering overnight rail journeys—like Mumbai to Delhi or Indore in just 10–12 hours. Once more Vande trains are introduced, this will become a reality,' Misra added. He also said work on the sixth line between Kandivali and Borivali is likely to finish by December. Though the sixth line from Bandra Terminus to Kandivali exists, delays in shifting utilities and clearing encroachments pushed the deadline. The railway is also planning a major expansion on the Virar-Dahanu stretch, with Palghar being developed into a hub and rail connectivity extended to the upcoming Vadhavan Port.

Discipline key for McErlean and Treacy in punishing Rally of Gods
Motorsport There's little, if any need for the Irish crew of Josh McErlean and Eoin Treacy to look for inspiration as they set out on the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece today. Equally familiar as the "Rally of Gods", the 17th stage event that had its ceremonial start beneath the shadows of the Parthenon Thursday evening, is one of most gruelling events of the 14-round WR campaign. McErlean and Treacy already know the depth of the challenge as it's similar in many respects to Rally Italia Sardegna (previous round) where the Kilrea/Killeagh duo spent much of the time sweeping the roads onboard their M-Sport Ford Puma Rally1 after re-joining under Super Rally. As he addressed that experience, he also hinted at future plans. "This year is all about growth. Sardinia was unfortunate for us, but at the same time, we were able to gain so much valuable information for the future - and this season is all about building the full toolkit. Everything we learn here helps us grow stronger for what lies ahead." On the Acropolis (the immediate future) he added, "It's another rally where survival matters. You have got to be smart, Sunday's final leg is longer than usual, so the rally keeps throwing challenges right to the finish.' The Greek terrain is unforgiving and punishing on tyres, allied to its high altitude and searing heat, it's as much a mental test as it is physical. McErlean (who finished eighth last year in a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2) concluded, "Our mindset is all about discipline, learning and managing the rally in the right way.' Over the years, M-Sport Ford has a strong record at the Acropolis with icons Carlos Sainz, the late Colin McRae, Marcus Gronholm and Mikko Hirvonen all victorious. Along with McErlean, Gregoire Munster, Martins Sesks and Jourdan Serderidis complete this weekend's M-Sport quartet. Reigning WR champion Belgian Thierry Neuville won last year's edition where Hyundai Motorsport had a lock-out of the podium places. A repeat performance would certainly be a welcome boost as they bid to halt the Toyota dominance of both championships. Hyundai are 69 points behind in the Manufacturers' title while (Drivers' title) Estonia's Ott Tanak trails series leader Elfyn Evans by 25 points with Neuville 50 points from the summit. Neuville said, " My goal is to outscore my opponents, but I would like to build some momentum and return to the podium.' First off the start line, series leader Elfyn Evans (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1) will again have to sweep the loose gravel from the roads. A one-time 43 points lead is now 19 with team mates Sebastien Ogier (unbeaten on gravel this season) second and Kalle Rovanpera, a double Acropolis winner, one point further behind. The Junior WRC reaches the halfway mark with all nine crews in Hankook shod Ford Fiesta Rally3 Evos tackling the event including Donegal's Eamonn Kelly and his Monaghan co-driver Conor Mohan. Spain's Carlos Sainz (senior) has ended speculation with an announcement that, following "thoughtful reflection" he will not contest the FIA Presidential election later this year. Currently, Mohammed Ben Sulayem (current president) is unopposed for the election that is set to place at the FIA general assembly in Uzbekistan on December 12th. Motorsport Ireland has confirmed that its Motor Sport Council has refused an application from the Galway Motor Club to re-schedule the Galway Rally on September 21st next. The Galway International Rally remains postponed due to the Storm Éowyn last February. Motorsport Ireland has informed the Galway organisers of the council's decision and advised that "International" status are not awarded to one-day events. Given the already congested nature of the Irish motorsport calendar and the proximity of the 2025 Galway International Rally, it's unlikely that the event will be rescheduled. Meanwhile, following his third straight ITRC win of the season Derry's Callum Devine (66 pts) has increased his lead of the NAPA series to twenty points. Donegal trio David Kelly (46pts), Declan Boyle (40pts) and Michael Boyle (37points) have amassed their scores from all four rounds, Devine's total is from three events. In the co-drivers' championship (that will have a new champion) Patrick Walsh (58pts), Andy Hayes (46pts) and Darragh Mullen (43pts) are the current top trio.
