New Balance's 'most comfortable shoes ever' are half price

The New Balance WRPD Runner Shoes have been reduced by up to 50% in the sportswear brand's end-of-season sale, with prices now starting from just £70 instead of £140 New Balance has dropped prices of several items in a huge end-of-season sale, with discounts reaching up to 50%. Shoppers are raving about one particular pair of trainers that are hailed "the most comfortable shoes ever" by many, now reduced from £140 to £70. The Unisex WRPD Runner Shoes, usually retailing at £140, can now be snapped up in shades like black, grey, dark moss, and seasalt/navy for £70. Other colours have seen a drop to £84, offering customers savings between 40% and 50%. Desgined in a standard width and available in sizes ranging from UK 3.5 to 16.5, these runners feature a "fluid design" and "sculpted contours". For those who put comfort first, the Skechers Summits Sneakers (£75) are unisex with an easy-wearing slip-on design. The hands-free design adds comfort and convenience to shoppers who want to get ready and go in minutes. Meanwhile, Schuh is also hosting a sale with discounts going up to 60%, which bargain hunters can check out online. The WRPD runners by New Balance have earned an impressive average rating of 4.7 out of five, with numerous reviews praising their comfort. As reported by MyLondon, one satisfied customer shared: "They are extremely comfortable, the best I ever had. As there are half size number I could find the perfect fit for mine." Another happy buyer said: "I really liked these sneakers, I only wear this brand and this model is the most comfortable. They look stylish. All my friends liked them, I will recommend and buy more." A glowing five-star review exclaims: "Purchase now. I love this so much that I bought it twice (two different colours). The most comfortable shoe ever and I own a large selection of gym shoes." Another pleased buyer shared their experience: "I love them, they are very cool and comfortable. I wore them all day at Disney and my feet felt great." However, a different perspective was offered by another customer who observed: "Comfy to walk in but in no way could they be considered running shoes." Meanwhile, another shopper added their two pence: "Look good but not that comfortable, to be fair I normally wear 1080's and they are the best for comfort." Unlike other trainers on the market, the WRPD Runner has a conceptual design with a combination of exaggerated proportions and minimalist restraint. New Balance described the footwear: "This new silhouette suggests a sense of fluid motion, with the sculpted contours of a full-length FuelCell midsole and an array of wavy accents surrounding an understated knit upper." The FuelCell midsole is designed to "deliver propulsive feel to help drive you forward". For those interested in browsing further, the full New Balance sale can be found online. Additionally, the WRPD Running Shoes are up for grabs at £84 on ASOS.

New Balance's ABZORB 2000 is Already a Sold Out Success, But It's Just Warming Up

Charlotte Lee is a veteran designer behind some of New Balance's best sneakers, and it's looking like she's onto another sold-out success with the ABZORB 2000 (AUD$260). Her greatest hits include the WRPD Runner, 530, 1000, and viral 1906L sneaker loafer, but she spent three times longer designing the ABZORB 2000 than a typical New Balance lifestyle sneaker. With a sold-out first release on 12th of June 2025, it's looking like it was time well spent. This new futuristic model takes off from where the James Lee and Yue Wu designed New Balance 9060 left off. That 'retrofuturism' 9060 sneaker appeared out of thin air and emerged as a successful model for the brand, and while it's hard to dismiss how much it has done for changing the narrative around chunky dad shoes, the ABZORB 2000 walks a different path with a hoast of futuristic touches. It looks to channel a little too much Nike Air Max Scorpion at first glance, but this is all New Balance. Lee turned to abandoned NB technology known as ABZORB SBS for inspiration, but it's not the only piece of technology. She also leaned on the virutal reality tool 'Gravity Sketch' to look at the model in 3D and bring intricate details to areas of the shoe, best seen in the screen-printed upper that serves a function by reducing the amount of TPU waste that would traditionally go into a design like this. Let's take a closer look! New Balance ABZORB 2000 | Image: Supplied / New Balance The launch colour—Still Water with Blue Agate—is a highlight, but as Riley Jones from WWD rightly pointed out, it looks like it's out of a video game. 'We wanted something that felt futuristic and progressive but still rooted in our DNA,' said Paul Kaseumsouk, general manager of lifestyle inline and speed at New Balance, in an interview with Footwear News. 'It's about evolving the brand's aesthetic without losing what makes it distinct. You can still find subtle nods to our heritage in the detailing and craftsmanship, but the overall design was meant to break the mold and signal a bold step forward.' Interestingly, this is the first 2000s-inspired silhouette for Lee. 'I was like, 'Is this really the right shoe for me to be doing?' And actually everyone got to saying, 'Yeah, because you're taking a new spin on it, keep on going,'' she said in an interview with WWD. 'Then at the end, I kind of stood back and was like, 'Wow. Yeah, OK.'' No big names, stars, celebrities, influencers. It was simply shared in a post by Brazilian stylist Gustavo Soares to his 10,000 followers before it was picked up by sneaker publishers and later in Milan Design Week in partnership with retailer Slam Jam. The next move, however, will be bigger. Chicago's Joe Freshgoods is cooking up an all-over pink pair, and while details are scarce, expect to see more of these during the upcoming Paris Fashion Week from Tuesday June 24th to Sunday June 29th 2025. Stay tuned for more collaborations of the New Balance A and GR colourways to roll-out as the ABZORB 2000 hits retailers and online stores around the world in the coming months. 2 New Drops From AURALEE x New Balance & NN.07 x Sebago Are The Collabs We Didn't Know We Needed

Wherever you look, there are footwear collabs galore! And we aren't complaining one bit! From a fashionable merger of East and West, to the long-awaited reunion of land and sea – these are the killer kicks that will be landing in stores this week! AURALEE x New Balance 475 During Paris Fashion Week's Spring/Summer 2025 show, Japanese designer Ryota Iwai and his brand AURALEE unveiled yet another New Balance partnership. AURALEE is releasing a new collaboration with the 475 silhouette, which will come in two colours, following the WRPD Runner and new 990v4 colourways. One of the most classic training shoes of the last few decades, New Balance's 475 was first created in the middle of the 1980s. In addition to being made of nylon for breathability and a suede upper for a luxurious touch, the shoe has a dual-density, compression-moulded EVA for extra cushioning. The new 475 has more support and grip thanks to its tougher outsole and slightly higher-profile midsole. One of the colourways adopts a light green colour blocking, while the other adopts an earthy colour scheme with brown and grey tones. Iwai-san, the designer, discusses how the partnership complements the new collection in a quote. 'For much of the collection we took a more direct vintage and almost preppy inspiration and likewise took a similar approach to the shoes. 'We wanted to accent the already vintage-inspired notes of the model, with a well-worn, aged, sun-tinged-like feel for the materials and also incorporate and modernise it with our signature colouring to create something with one foot in the past and one in the present. Something like a discovered deadstock shoe today or one discovered years into the future.' The AURALEE x New Balance 475 collaboration will be available for purchase on 16th May via their respective websites. Each pair is available for JP¥26,400 (~RM772). NN.07 x Sebago Docksides Portland Reuniting with heritage footwear manufacturer Sebago for their second collaboration, NN.07 is bringing a sophisticated update to their iconic Docksides Portland boat shoe. The vintage boat shoe is infused with NN.07's Scandinavian elegance, drawing inspiration from Portland, Maine's coastal style and boating heritage. The updated model retains the practical design elements for which Sebago is renowned while sporting crisp white leather uppers that are subtly textured like a crocodile. The uppers, which are made of high-quality cow leather, have a water-resistant finish to protect against moisture, and the rubber soles provide a firm grip on slick surfaces. The rubber soles are embossed with a Docksides callout and cast in the same soft cream colour as the body for a primarily monochromatic aesthetic. Additionally, the hand-sewn shoes have a classic rawhide lacing system, and the woven wordmark labels on the lateral panel add a subtle pop of bright blue. The most recent partnership between NN.07 and Sebago comes after the brand's 2024 Scandinavian leather version of the Sebago Dan Loafer. The hand-sewn shoes were made using high-quality materials and a water-repellent finish, just like the Docksides. The NN.07 x Sebago Docksides Portland will hit the shelves on 15th May, and can be purchased at NN.07 flagship stores as well as its online store.
