Roman Reigns Return Update: Why the Tribal Chief is absent from WWE

Roman Reigns (Image Source: Getty) It has been months since we last saw Roman Reigns on WWE television, leaving fans to wonder what the future holds for the Tribal Chief. His final appearance came just after WrestleMania 41, when he was attacked in a surprise post-show attack by Seth Rollins , Paul Heyman, and Bron Breakker. After that, Reigns has vanished, and it has people wondering if he's permanently out or if he's gearing up for a huge return. He hasn't been seen for months in WWE, and according to sources backstage, that absence is being planned as just that, and WWE is hoping to turn his absence into excitement for his anticipated return this summer. Roman Reigns set for WWE SummerSlam 2025? Here's who he might battle on his return

Image via WWE Roman Reigns 's last appearance on WWE television programming came on the RAW after WrestleMania 41. The Tribal Chief was taken out of commission by Seth Rollins and his new accomplice, Bron Breakker. Since that night, he has been absent from TV while being spotted in outside appearances. However, in a new update by WrestleVotes, it was stated that Reigns will make his return before SummerSlam. The report stated, "Roman Reigns is set to return to WWE before SummerSlam. Preparations for his comeback have already begun, including merchandising and marketing efforts." With The OTC's return reportedly on the horizon, here are three opponents that he could face at the Biggest Party of the Summer this year: 3. Bron Breakker During Roman Reigns' last televised appearance in WWE, he was destroyed by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker, both of whom cemented their alliance with Reigns' former Wiseman, Paul Heyman. It can be expected that he would go after them, but Rollins would ask his cohort to take care of The OTC. This would set up a huge 'Spear vs Spear' match at SummerSlam, while also being the biggest match to date for the rising career of Breakker, who could produce a hard-hitting match against Reigns. 2. CM Punk CM Punk has called out Roman Reigns on numerous occasions ever since he came back to WWE in 2023. The Best in the World was also engaged in a feud with Reigns heading into WrestleMania 41. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Vaastu Complaint: 2/3/4 BHK Homes: Hiranandani Fortune City Hiranandani Fortune City Enquire Now Undo He slithered Paul Heyman to his side for the match as part of the favor owed to him. This could see Reigns going after Punk after returning, blaming him for the tensions between Heyman and himself that prevailed, setting the stage for their epic clash at WWE SummerSlam this year. 1. Seth Rollins The one true blockbuster match for Roman Reigns at this year's history making SummerSlam would be against none other than his most storied rival in WWE, Seth "Freakin" Rollins. The Visionary is on his most powerful run in the company and snatched Reigns' trusted companion, Paul Heyman, at WrestleMania 41. As mentioned, he also took him out on the RAW after Mania and has been firing shots at him. The OTC's return could see him go right after Rollins and have his chance at revenge in a one-on-one match at WWE SummerSlam. Also read: Who has AEW star Mercedes Mone dated? History in the Making: Legendary star can set new WWE SummerSlam milestone

Image via WWE WWE will be creating history with its second biggest show of the year, SummerSlam, this year. It will be the first time in more than three decades that the event will be a two-night show. It is scheduled to take place on August 2nd and 3rd, at MetLife Stadium, in New Jersey, and will look to be game-changing for the Stamford-based promotion. Moreover, on the same night, a veteran WWE superstar, who is still part of the active roster, is also eyeing a history-making achievement after more than two decades in the business. Which veteran can set a new record at WWE SummerSlam? At the WWE SummerSlam Kickoff show held at Fanatics Fest, WWE legend Randy Orton revealed that he is currently tied with The Undertaker for most SummerSlam appearances at 16. He aimed to break the record and envisioned facing his arch-nemesis, John Cena, for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the first-ever two-night SummerSlam event this year. Orton said, "I did win my very first world championship at SummerSlam in 2004 and I went on to compete in sixteen SummerSlams so far, that has me tied for the most SummerSlam matches in the history of the WWE, tied with the one-and-only Undertaker. So, at SummerSlam will be my record-setting match. I tell you what, I see me leaving MetLife Stadium with gold around my waist [Michael] Cole, and I'm gonna fight John Cena, I'm gonna do it at MetLife, I'm gonna have all these beautiful New Yorkers there cheering my ass on. " SummerSlam Kickoff: June 21, 2025 Randy Orton's first appearance at SummerSlam came in 2004, where he became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history. Since then, he has competed in top showdowns at the event against the likes of Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan and John Cena. Moreover, it is expected that The Viper would compete at this year's event as well. Orton is currently scheduled to face Cody Rhodes in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament at WWE Night of Champions. Should he be able to defeat Rhodes, he will earn himself a World Championship match at SummerSlam while setting the new record of most appearances at the show. Triple H Comments On Cardi B's Potential In-Ring Role at WWE SummerSlam 2025

Triple H believes Cardi B would be difficult to stop if she decides to step into a WWE ring. Cardi B is set to host the first-ever two-night WWE SummerSlam this year, taking place on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. As a New York native, Cardi B is expected to draw major attention to the show, which is just weeks away. Advertisement During an interview with Billboard, Triple H discussed Cardi B's involvement at WWE SummerSlam. When asked about Cardi B's role at SummerSlam, and whether fans might see her get physical in the ring, Triple H explained that anything is possible. Triple H comments on Cardi B's role at SummerSlam 'Well, let me answer the second part of it first. So can you see her … I don't know if anybody can control Cardi B, let me just start with that. So if she wants to, I think it's going to be hard to talk her out of it. And then what can we expect? Who the hell knows. The one thing I know about Cardi is, whatever she's going to do, is what she's going to do. And you're sort of kind of just hanging on to the tiger's tail a little bit there.' 'So she's a lot of fun to work with, has been so far with this. She's excited to do it. I think, as everybody knows, she's a big fan and has, you know, talked a lot about the business over the years and all that stuff and comments on it a lot. So when you work with people like that, it's exciting. We'll see, we'll see where that goes.' Advertisement 'But we're thrilled to be working with her. You know, there's a lot of artists out there across so many different things now that are just, they're fans and looking to come in and do things with us, and we'll vet through them and try to figure out the ones that can do the most and be a positive for our fan base, and just help to expand the product out beyond the realm of just just wrestling fans, and get the rest of the world into what we're doing.'
