Three Clemson football starters named 2025 Walter Camp Preseason All-Americans
Clemson ties Alabama, Texas, Penn State and Indiana for teams with most players named Walter Camp Preseason All-Americans. Three Clemson Tigers players were named 2025 Walter Camp Preseason All-Americans Tuesday, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced. Two players were chosen as First Team selections: quarterback Cade Klubnik and defensive tackle Peter Woods. Defensive lineman T.J. Parker was a Second Team selection. The Tigers had the most players of any ACC program on the Walter Camp Preseason All-America Team and tied Alabama, Texas, Penn State and Indiana with the most players nationally. Klubnik, projected by ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft heading into this season, was the only quarterback named a First Team selection. The Austin, Texas, native had a breakout season a year ago, throwing for 3,639 yards and 36 touchdowns to six interceptions. He rushed for another 463 yards and seven touchdowns. At 6-foot-3, 315 pounds, Woods enters his junior season after starting 10 games in 2024 and is another projected first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Woods had 26 tackles (18 solo), 8.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and a forced fumble last season. In two years at Clemson, Woods is credited by Dabo Swinney and the Tigers' coaching staff with 59 tackles (11 for loss) and two forced fumbles in 23 games. Joining Woods as First Team defensive line selections on the 2025 Walter Camp Preseason All-America Team are Dylan Stewart of South Carolina, Colin Simmons of Texas, and Zane Durant of Penn State. The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Parker started all 14 games at defensive end in 2024 and is also considered a consensus top 5-10 first-round pick in next year's NFL Draft as one of the top pass rushers in college football. Parker had 57 tackles (34 solo), 19.5 tackles for loss and 11.0 sacks last season en route to earning Second Team All-ACC honors. In two years at Clemson, Parker is credited by the coaching staff with 105 tackles (32 for loss), 16.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and three pass breakups over 27 games. Three Alabama football players named 2025 Walter Camp Preseason All-Americans
Alabama ties Clemson, Texas, Penn State, Indiana for most players on Walter Camp Preseason All-America Teams. Three Alabama football players were named 2025 Walter Camp Preseason All-Americans Tuesday, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced. Two Alabama players were First Team selections: wide receiver Ryan Williams and offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor. Tim Keenan III was a Second Team selection on defense. Alabama tied Ohio State, Clemson, Texas, Penn State and Indiana with the most players selected as preseason All-Americans. The SEC had the most players named to the Preseason All-America Team with 16, followed by the Big Ten with 15. Williams became a star as an electric 17-year-old freshman last year and led Alabama with 865 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He caught 48 passes, highlighted by a dazzling catch-and-run touchdown in the Crimson Tide's 41-34 victory over Georgia on Sept. 28 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Williams is joined by Ohio State sophomore sensation Jeremiah Smith as First Team selections at wide receiver. At 6-foot-7, 360 pounds, Proctor started all but two games at left tackle in 2024 and is widely considered a consensus first-round pick in next year's NFL Draft as one of the top offensive linemen in college football. He earned All-SEC honors a season ago. Joining Proctor as First Team offensive line selections on the Camp Preseason All-America Team are the Miami Hurricanes' Francis Mauigoa, the Utah Utes' Spencer Fano, and Boise State's Kage Casey. Keenan played in all 13 games last season and had 12 starts at defensive line.
