Wan Rosdy: A-GC's acknowledgement confirms royal addendum's validity
KUANTAN: Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has reiterated his stand that the royal addendum order concerning Datuk Seri Najib Razak is genuine, following the Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC) acknowledgement of its existence. In a Facebook statement today, Wan Rosdy said the A-GC's stance, whether directly or indirectly, confirms the validity of the royal decree, and reinforces the truth of the affidavit he had submitted to the court earlier. "This further affirms that the affidavit I presented, stating my awareness of the royal addendum, is truthful and not hearsay. "Since the Attorney-General's Chambers has acknowledged the addendum's existence, it is only right that the court proceedings be halted and the decree enforced," he said. Wan Rosdy added that all parties involved, including the A-GC, the judiciary, and the government, must uphold the principle of separation of powers and respect the authority of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Malay Rulers, as enshrined in the Federal Constitution. "Personally, and on behalf of the people of Pahang, I pray that Datuk Seri Najib receives the justice outlined in the royal addendum," he said. On Wednesday, senior federal counsel Shamsul Bolhassan informed the court that the A-GC does not dispute the existence of the royal addendum, which allegedly allows Najib to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest, but is instead challenging the procedure of its submission as new evidence in Najib's ongoing judicial review.

KUANTAN: The newly-launched Aspirasi Pahang 1st marks a vital turning point in steering the east coast state towards becoming a developed and efficiently governed entity. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail described Aspirasi Pahang 1st not merely as a slogan but as a comprehensive state policy encompassing all sectors, which serves as both a vision and an aspiration to elevate Pahang to a higher level. "This aspiration adopts the identity of Pahang, anchored by visionary leadership and driven by all people regardless of background, with the goal of making the state a leader in development, excellent governance, environmental sustainability, and the preservation of values, culture, and religion. "The Pahang Economic Transformation 2025-2030 (PET30) is not just a development plan but a comprehensive transformation strategy based on the state's resource strengths, global market realities, and the aspirations of the people. "We must step out of our comfort zones to act swiftly and responsibly to build a more prosperous Pahang. If the PET30 plan succeeds, it is possible for the state's annual revenue to reach RM2 billion within the next five to ten years," he said. Wan Rosdy said the Aspirasi Pahang 1st will prioritise education, with a focus on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a main career path, while giving equal importance to Artificial Intelligence (AI). He said that civil servants across Pahang will play a larger role by embracing the digital era to make the state more developed, progressive, and competitive. Wan Rosdy said that the aspiration is not solely about pursuing economic growth or physical development, but about improving the quality of life for the people through affordable housing and addressing other essential needs, ensuring no one is left behind. Meanwhile, he told reporters that besides providing further explanations through a series of talks, pamphlets will be distributed statewide to help residents better understand Aspirasi Pahang 1st.

Umno must adopt new strategies to regain lost seats in GE16
KEPALA BATAS: Umno must embrace new strategies to recapture parliamentary seats it lost in previous elections, including Kepala Batas, according to its vice-president Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. He stressed that the party can no longer rely on conventional methods, especially with the changing political landscape influenced by Undi 18. Wan Rosdy highlighted the need for aggressive outreach to younger voters, including students and Pahang-born individuals residing outside the state. 'If we use the same approach, we will get the same results. We must adopt new methods to strengthen public confidence in the government,' he said after officiating the Kepala Batas Umno Division Delegates Meeting. The Kepala Batas parliamentary seat, once held by former Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi from 1978 to 2013, was lost to Perikatan Nasional (PN) in GE15. PN candidate Dr Siti Mastura Muhammad won with a 2,867-vote majority against Umno's Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican. Wan Rosdy urged local Umno members to strategize effectively to reclaim the seat. He dismissed PN's claims of targeting Pahang in GE16, stating that the opposition relies on sentiment rather than ground realities. 'They do not understand Pahang's actual situation. We are working hard to take back seats won by PN,' he said. Earlier, Bersatu Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah stated that PN had outlined plans to defend its seats and aimed to gain control of Pahang in the next general election.
