#SHOWBIZ: Singer Syed Iqbal: 'I'm single but not available'
KUALA LUMPUR: Syed Iqbal Jamalullail, a new singer enjoying success with his song 'Basstamam', has revealed that he was previously married to a woman chosen by his family, but the marriage ended within a year.
The 24-year-old singer and independent preacher said that his marriage took place in 2022 while he was working in Penang, and he remains on good terms with his ex-wife.
Syed Iqbal, who is the younger brother of celebrity preacher Da'i Syed, added that he has not ruled out finding love again.
"Whether I remarry or not, I leave it to God's will. However, for now, I'm 'single but not available'," he said.
Syed recently signed a contract with Islamic music label Masyhur, an imprint of Universal Music Malaysia.
They are currently busy promoting 'Basstamam', a song composed by Amir Hufaz and Wan Saleh, with lyrics by Abdulkarim Al Ali and Wan Saleh.
The song was released on all digital music platforms on May 30, and its music video is available on Masyhur's YouTube channel.
