'Harry Potter' series begins production; first look at new Boy Who Lived unveiled
HBO's "Harry Potter" television series has officially begun production at the Warner Bro. Studios Leavesden in England, United Kingdom. Warner Bros. Discovery made the announcement on Monday via a media release, sharing a first look at Dominic McLaughlin as the new Boy Who Lived. New cast members were also unveiled, namely Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander. The "Harry Potter" series is set to debut in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max. Previous casting announcements include Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, John Lithgow as Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Janet McTeer as Transfiguration professor and Gryffindor head of house Minerva McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. The series will also star Luke Thallon as Defence Against the Dark Arts professor Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as squib and Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch.
