SPML Infra bags Rs 385 crore water infrastructure project in Rajasthan
SPML Infra Limited, one of India's top water infrastructure companies, has secured a major project worth ₹385 crore under the Government of India's flagship Jal Jeevan Mission. This ambitious project, known as the Water Production and Supply System for the Kekri-Sarwar Sector Package-III in Ajmer, Rajasthan, is a critical step towards enhancing rural water infrastructure. It also includes a 10-year Operation and Maintenance contract, ensuring the long-term sustainability and efficiency of the system.
The Kekri Water Supply Scheme, funded under the Jal Jeevan Mission, aims to provide safe and reliable drinking water to every household in the Kekri-Sarwar region. This initiative will upgrade the existing water supply framework by drawing water from the Bisalpur Dam and channeling it through newly built infrastructure, significantly improving water availability in Ajmer district.

Central to this project is the development of a high-capacity 160 MLD Water Treatment Plant at Kekri, which will meet stringent quality standards. The project also includes the construction of two major Clear Water Reservoirs with a combined storage capacity of 37.75 MLD, ensuring uninterrupted water supply. A 58.675-kilometer-long MS pipeline will be laid to connect the treatment plant to Nasirabad, forming a resilient transmission network.
To boost operational control, SPML Infra will integrate advanced pumping systems, electrical and mechanical equipment, and a full SCADA monitoring system for real-time management. In addition, civil infrastructure work such as new office buildings and staff quarters will be developed to support smooth project execution and operations.
This project not only underlines SPML Infra's leadership in water infrastructure but also plays a vital role in supporting the Indian government's mission to deliver clean drinking water across rural India. Through modern engineering and long-term maintenance, the initiative is set to transform the water landscape of the Kekri-Sarwar region and enhance the quality of life for thousands of residents.
