Kajol on 'Maa': It was very draining as an actor
Picture Credit: X Bollywood star Kajol, who is all pepped up for the release of her upcoming film 'Maa', said that working in the horror movie was emotionally exhausting to her due to the intense and constant high-pitch tension required in every scene. This is not the first time Kajol's playing a mother on screen. The actress first played a mother in 'Kabhi Kushi Khabhie Gham...' in 2001, she was then seen essaying the characters in projects such as 'We Are Family,' 'Helicopter Eela', 'Tribhanga' and 'Salaam Venky'. However, playing a mother in 'Maa' was different for Kajol and it did take more from her emotionally than the other roles she played before. "It took a lot from me because of the fact that it's a horror film." She shared that she is not a horror fan herself, which made her unprepared for the emotional demands of the genre. "I didn't realise that when I would be doing a horror film, there would be such a pitch to the entire film because I am not a horror watcher. So I didn't realise that there was this certain pitch to every horror film that's there. That there's an emotional pitch and especially when it's so tight, you know, there's so much happening." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Transform Your Child's Confidence with Our Public Speaking Program Planet Spark Book Now Undo Kajol said that as an actor, "you always have to be at almost like a really high alert level." Kajol said: "And yes, it was very, very draining as an actor also. Very emotionally draining as an actor to constantly keep that pitch 24x7 all the time in every shot." "Maa" is a mythological horror film directed by Vishal Furia. The film stars Kajol in the title role, alongside Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma. It tells the story about Ambika, and how after her husband dies due to a supernatural cause, she and her daughter visit his hometown, only to discover a demonic curse that puts their lives at risk. This Famous 2000s Rom-Com Star Is Headed For Divorce After 15 Years Of Marriage
It's over for Dermot Mulroney and Prima Apollinaare. According to ABC News, Dermot filed for divorce from Prima on Monday, June 23, citing irreconcilable differences. The actor, best known for his roles in My Best Friend's Wedding, Friends, and Zodiac, had been married to the musician for 15 years. They share two children, daughters Mabel Ray, 17, and Sally June, 15. Dermot married Prima, who previously went by Tharita Cutulle, in 2010. It was his second marriage behind Catherine Keener, whom he split from in 2007 after 17 years of marriage and one son, Clyde Keener Mulroney, 26. In court documents, Dermot reportedly requested joint physical and legal custody of their kids. People reported that he also asked for spousal support and for the court to deny Prima from receiving it from him — however a source refuted those claims. "No one is asking for anything," the insider told People, "and no one is denying anything. They are not arguing over the children nor money." According to the source, their split is "amicable." "They used mediators, not lawyers, as they are friends and this is amicable," the source shared. "They were advised to file this way." The divorce comes just over a year after the two made a rare appearance for the Fox game show We Are Family. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dermot gushed over how "fun" it was to perform with Prima on the show. "We both like to do karaoke together and we both like music so much," Prima added. "It was actually, for me, it was really an amazing experience to be on television and singing. Of course, with my husband, I play with him all the time in the house. We all play instruments. We have harps, guitars, ukulele, pianos, you name it. So we're all musicians, but to actually do it and just have people winning money is also very rewarding. I've been singing since I was very little and music is my heart. So it was a great experience. They made it so easy for us. We had so much fun. I wish we could do it again." Dermot Mulroney files for divorce from Prima Apollinaare after nearly 15 years
Dermot Mulroney is ready to start a new chapter of his life. According to TMZ, the 61-year-old 'My Best Friend's Wedding' actor filed for a 'standard dissolution of marriage' from his wife, Prima Apollinaare, on June 21 in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The couple were married for nearly 15 years and share two kids — Mabel Ray, 17, and Sally June, 15. Court documents obtained by TMZ revealed that the 'Young Guns' actor requested joint physical and legal custody of their two daughters, but asked the court to deny support payments for Apollinaare. Instead, Mulroney is asking the court to grant him spousal support for the two children. People later reported that 'neither side is asking for anything, and no one is denying anything.' The outlet clarified that the estranged couple aren't arguing over the children, aren't concerned about finances, and reportedly used mediators instead of lawyers. 'They are friends and this is amicable and they were advised to file this way,' People reported. According to USA Today, Mulroney failed to disclose the couple's official date of separation, but cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for the divorce. As for the couple's assets, Mulroney has stated that 'all community earnings and accumulation during marriage through the date of separation' will be considered community property, per People. Mulroney and Apollinaare started dating in 2008 — one year after his divorce from Catherine Keener. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Mabel Ray, later that year before welcoming their second daughter, Sally June, in 2009. They tied the knot in December 2010. The divorce comes more than a year after Mulroney and Apollinaare appeared together on Fox's game show 'We Are Family.' Apollinaare, an Italian-born singer-songwriter, sang 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow' by the Shirelles before Mulroney, a professional cellist, joined her for a duet of 'Islands in the Stream' by Dolly Parton. After Mulroney's identity was revealed, Apollinaare revealed that they've been together for 19 years. The couple opened up about the experience in a February 2024 interview with Entertainment Weekly. 'They knew Prima's music and put together that we are this sort of secret couple even though we've been together for 20 years. Kind of a stealth Hollywood couple,' Mulroney said of the couple's duet. Apollinaare added that the pair 'like to do karaoke together and we both like music so much.' 'It is great to come out and then turn to your own spouse and sing right into their face. That was unusual. I have to say, really, really fun,' Mulroney continued. In addition to his two daughters with Apollinaare, Mulroney also shares a son Clyde, born in 1997, with Keener.

Dermot Mulroney Files for Divorce From Wife Prima Apollinaare, Asks for Spousal Support
Dermot Mulroney has filed for divorce from his wife, Prima Apollinaare, after nearly 15 years of marriage. The 61-year-old actor submitted a dissolution of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, to a Los Angeles County Superior Court on June 21, documents obtained by show. He did not include an exact date of separation and simply wrote TBD. Mulroney and Apollinaare, a musician, tied the knot on December 9, 2010. They share two children together: 17-year-old Mabel Ray Mulroney and 15-year-old Sally June Mulroney. In the documents, the 'Chicago Fire' star requested joint legal and physical custody of their daughters. He is also asking the court to terminate spousal support for Apollinaare and grant him spousal support, instead. Their division of assets and property will be determined at a later date. In addition to his daughters, Mulroney is a father to 26-year-old son Clyde Mulroney, whom he shares with ex-wife and actor Catherine Keener. The two actors were married from 1990 to 2007. Mulroney and Apollinaare appeared together on the Fox game show 'We Are Family' in February 2024, according to Entertainment Weekly. Apollinaare participated in the Season 1 finale of the show, which highlighted the singing talents of celebrity relatives as contestants guessed their true identities. In the episode, Apollinaare performed 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow' by The Shirelles before her husband secretly joined her for a duet of 'Islands in the Stream' by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. Apollinaare's identity was revealed later in the episode when Mulroney came out on stage and sang with her again. Speaking about their time on the show, Mulroney told EW, 'It was such an amazing phone call to get that the show reached out to us. They knew Prima's music and put together that we are this sort of secret couple even though we've been together for 20 years. Kind of a stealth Hollywood couple. So it really works perfectly for this show.' Apollinaare said they agreed to be on 'We Are Family' when they learned it featured contestants like nurses and first responders who could win money. 'We both like to do karaoke together and we both like music so much. It was actually, for me, it was really an amazing experience to be on television and singing. Of course with my husband, I play with him all the time in the house,' she shared. Late last year, Mulroney booked a starring role on 'Chicago Fire,' which films in the Windy City, as Chief Dom Pascal. The show wrapped its 13th season in May.
