The first season of the BBC Two show - written by Kyla Harris and Lee Getty - followed a 30-year-old disabled Canadian woman called Freya (Kyla) as she moved to London to live with her fiancé Abe (Darren Boyd), but as she cannot find an appropriate personal assistant to provide constant care for her, she enlists her best friend Jo (Elena Saurel) to take the job. ‌ It received critical acclaim, for its approach to disabilities and how it highlighted the difficulties wheelchair users face on a daily basis. ‌ In the new season - which is set in London - viewers will follow Freya and Abe on their "high-stress" wedding planning journey, and the audience will learn that the couple's views on marriage - and their visions for the ceremony - do not always match. Freya and Abe's plans are complicated further by her agents, The Olivias (Emma Sidi and Hanako Footman) - who get the couple to do a wedding-themed content creation campaign focused on disability inclusion. Viewers will also see Abe address his complicated history with Jo, as well as his trust issues after he sees Freya and her assistant together. Village Roadshow's Alix Jaffe Joins Miramax as Television President

Village Roadshow's Alix Jaffe is joining Miramax as the studio's new president of television on March 31. Jaffe, who will report directly to Miramax CEO Jonathan Glickman, will be responsible for overseeing the company's teams in Los Angeles, London and Doha, Qatar. Senior vice president Mirsada Abdool Raman will report to Jaffe. 'I'm thrilled to join Jon and the incredible team at Miramax,' Jaffe said in a Tuesday statement. 'I have long admired their rich catalog and look forward to creating bold new shows, developing fresh original content and telling stories that push boundaries and resonate with audiences around the world.' Jaffe brings over two decades of experience in TV development and production, most recently serving as Village Roadshow Entertainment Group's executive vice president of television. Additionally, she built strategic partnerships with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison and Bryan Cranston's Moonshot Entertainment and her projects have found success on all major platforms, including Prime Video, Apple TV+, AMC, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+ and Roku. Prior to Village Roadshow, Jaffe was president of Greg Garcia's production company Amigos de Garcia, where she executive produced 'The Guest Book' (TBS) and 'The Millers' (CBS). She has also held key leadership positions at CBS, including vice president of current programs, where she worked on series such as 'Blue Bloods,' 'How I Met Your Mother,' 'Numb3rs' and the launch of 'Survivor.' 'The combination of Alix's razor-sharp creative instincts, deep talent relationships and her expertise in nurturing both existing IP and original content creates an extraordinary opportunity for Miramax TV,' Glickman said. 'With the strength of Miramax's iconic library, she is uniquely positioned to drive innovative storytelling, elevate our global business and lead us in delivering the highest-quality talent and stories to audiences worldwide.' Miramax's recent TV credits include 'The Gentleman,' which was renewed for a second season at Netflix that will begin production in April, 'Zero Day' starring Robert De Niro and 'Wednesday' starring Jenna Ortega. On the film side, Miramax greenlit a sequel to 'The Beekeeper' with Jason Statham returning along with Timo Tjahjanto directing, and dropped the fourth installment of the Bridget Jones franchise, 'Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,' which grossed $111.3 million internationally, as well as indie hit 'Strange Darling.' Upcoming projects include the Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst and Peter Dinklage-led 'Roofman,' which premieres Oct. 3, the next installment in the 'Scary Movie' franchise, which premieres Summer 2026, Colman Domingo's directorial debut 'Scandalous,' which stars Sydney Sweeney, and David Jonsson and Drew Hancock's 'The Faculty' remake.
