Home burglary prevented Joe Burrow from making this massive $3 million purchase

Joe Burrow had to postpone his crime-fighting days in Gotham. The Bengals quarterback said he passed on buying a $3 million replica Batmobile following a robbery at his Ohio home last December. 'I didn't end up getting the Batmobile because I just had other things I wanted to deal with at that point,' Burrow said on Netflix's 'Quarterback' series. Advertisement 3 Joe Burrow in June 2025. Kareem Elgazzar-Imagn Images Burrow made waves last year when he revealed in the first episode of the in-season 'Hard Knocks' that he bought a fully scaled Batmobile, which retailed at $2.99 million, per ESPN. He told receiver Tee Higgins in the episode — which aired Dec. 3 after a Week 13 loss to the Steelers — he made the purchase but he would not receive it for a year. This break-in happened during a high-profile string of robberies at the homes of NFL players, including Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. A gang of Chilean migrants were accused of stealing $300,000 in luxury goods and posted photos with the merchandise, before being indicted in federal court in Cincinnati. 'When that gets violated people find out where you live, all these different things. Not everybody's failures at their job are in front of the whole world. It's every vulnerable position to be in. I put myself in that position because I love it. I don't like the other part of it.' 3 Joe Burrow's Ohio home was broken into in December 2024. 'That's the only part I'm upset about — all my business is out there,' he said. 'I got news vans camped out by the house. It sucks. So, we'll see if I end up moving. The whole world knows where I live now. That hasn't been really fun to deal with.'

Diontae Johnson Addresses Controversial Tenure With Ravens Before 2025 NFL Season

Diontae Johnson Addresses Controversial Tenure With Ravens Before 2025 NFL Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Cleveland Browns wide receiver Diontae Johnson will play for his third AFC North team in the 2025 NFL season. After spending the first five seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Johnson shared the 2024 season between the Carolina Panthers, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. Advertisement It was with the Ravens that one of his biggest controversies to date happened. The 28-year-old wide receiver refused to enter last season's Week 13 duel against the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Fans at M&T Bank Stadium on Dec. 1, where the temperature was 41 degrees at kickoff, saw Johnson refusing to enter the game after Rashod Bateman exited with an injury. Johnson declined, which resulted in a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team and his subsequent waiving. He blamed the temperature for his decision, which could have hurt his performance. Advertisement "It was cold," Johnson said. "So, I'm on the sideline, just standing there, just going to the heater, back and forth, just waiting to hear my name called. So, end of third [quarter], going into the fourth over there, they're like, 'Tae, we need you.' I'm like, 'Nah.' To me, I'm thinking, 'I don't think it's a good idea for me,' because I was thinking about, like, my legs. I don't want to go out there and put bad stuff on film. "And it's not like I didn't want to go in the game. But you've got to think, like, leading up to this point, I'd been through so much. ... I'd checked out mentally. I was like, 'Whatever happens, happens.' I was just rolling with the punches at that time. So, I told them I wasn't going in. I was like, 'I understand what you're saying, but I'm not going to go in.' So, I just sat on the bench, and that's when they suspended me." Johnson played four games with the Ravens, recording one reception on five targets for six yards and no touchdowns. Johnson was waived and then signed with the Texans. He played one game for them, catching two passes for 12 yards and no touchdowns. He's now set to start a new era with the Browns, but the memory of that December game is still fresh. Diontae Johnson: I "checked out mentally" before refusing to enter game for Ravens

Browns wide receiver Diontae Johnson is coming off a rough season that saw him spend time with three teams and get suspended for detrimental conduct in one stop. That was in Baltimore and the Ravens suspended him for refusing to enter a Week 13 game against the Eagles. Johnson explained on the Sport and Suits podcast that he was 'checked out mentally' because he had not played before the team asked him to enter the game for the first time in the fourth quarter. 'I wasn't getting into like no run plays, no like passing plays,' Johnson said. 'No nothing. It was cold, I'm on the sideline just standing there like just going to the heater back and forth just waiting to hear my name called. End of third, going into the fourth they're like 'Tay, we need you.' I'm like 'Nah, I don't think it's a good idea for me.' Like I was already thinking about my legs, I don't want to go out there and put bad stuff on film. It's not like I didn't want to go into the game, but leading up to this point I'd already been through so much.' Johnson was not productive in Baltimore, Carolina or Houston, which left him short on options before agreeing to sign a one-year deal with the Browns. If he can't turn things back around in 2025, his market will be even colder than that day in Baltimore.

Diontae Johnson admits he refused to enter a game because he was cold

Baltimore was too cold for former Ravens receiver Diontae Johnson. Perhaps the weather in, uh, Cleveland will be more agreeable for one of the Browns' newest pass-catchers. In a recent interview with the Sports & Suits podcast, Johnson confessed that he refused to enter a game for the Ravens last season because he was cold. "End of the third going into the fourth, they were like, 'Tae, we need you,'" Johnson said. "I was like, 'Nah, I don't think it's a good idea for me.' Like, my legs are already ice cold and I didn't wanna go out there and put bad stuff on film." According to the National Weather Service, the Baltimore area experienced a high of 44 degrees and a low of 21 degrees on Dec. 1, 2024, the date of the game in question: a Ravens Week 13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. CLEVELAND BROWNS NEWS: Team had dramatic 2025 draft. How does rookie class look? Johnson went on to say that his business decision was the reason the Ravens, who had acquired him at the trade deadline from the Carolina Panthers earlier in the season, suspended him for one game. Baltimore waived him a week after he served his suspension, and the Houston Texans claimed him a few days later. The former Raven didn't stick in Houston long. He also told Sports & Suits that the Texans prioritized their younger guys for playing time after he joined the team. Before long, Johnson said he "checked out mentally." "After that, they said I was a distraction and they released me," the veteran said. Houston waived Johnson after Week 18, and the Ravens re-claimed the wideout. But he was ineligible to play the remainder of the postseason and became a free agent after Baltimore lost their divisional round playoff game. In April, Johnson signed a one-year, $1.17 million deal with the Browns. According to data collected by the National Weather Service, average temperatures in Cleveland during the fall months of the football season — between September and November — have hovered around four degrees colder than Baltimore since 2000. Browns wide receiver Diontae Johnson predicts Kenny Pickett will get first shot as team's starting QB

The Cleveland Browns have a four-pronged quarterback competition this offseason, complete with a pair of rookies, the backup quarterback of last season's Super Bowl champs and a 40-year-old veteran who already temporarily rescued the franchise once as NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2023. With Deshaun Watson still recovering from the Achilles tear he suffered this past January, the spotlight is on Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders, Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco. Advertisement Wide receiver Diontae Johnson, a one-time Pro Bowler who signed with the Browns this spring, has a prediction for which quarterback will come out on top this summer. "I think they are going to roll with Kenny for right now," Johnson said while appearing on the "Sports and Suits" podcast earlier this month. "I've been seeing Kenny going like right now with the ones. Then Joe will come in," Johnson said. "I think they are probably going to roll with [Kenny] just to see like he's coming off a season with Philly and having a Super Bowl. So, I think they are going to stick with him through the preseason. Then you know they can live with Joe and what he brings to the table." Johnson is hoping to turn the page after a 2024 campaign that was memorable for all the wrong reasons. He split time with three teams: the Carolina Panthers, the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. He made headlines in his second stop when the Ravens suspended him one game for refusing to enter a Week 13 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Johnson's best days came in Pittsburgh, where he spent 2019-23. Advertisement Johnson and Pickett were Steelers teammates for two seasons from 2022-23. During that span, Pickett went 14-10 as the starter, and Johnson caught a total of 137 passes for 1,599 yards and five touchdowns. The Steelers drafted Pickett out of University of Pittsburgh with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2022 draft. Pickett got the first chance to succeed a newly-retired Ben Roethlisberger but, despite his winning record, posted a meager 13:13 touchdown-to-interception ratio in his two seasons as QB1. Pittsburgh moved on from Pickett ahead of the 2024 season, trading him to the Philadelphia Eagles that offseason. The Steelers, meanwhile, entered last season with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in their quarterback room, neither of whom are still with the team. Pickett backed up Eagles star Jalen Hurts, appearing in five games during a Super Bowl season. He completed 25-of-42 passes (59.5%) while recording 291 yards through the air, two touchdowns and one interception. He won his only start of the season, a 41-7 drubbing of the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys. Advertisement Pickett even got to take the field in the Super Bowl, stepping in for garbage time snaps during the Eagles' blowout victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. He took his ring with him to Cleveland in March when the Browns traded for him in exchange for quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and the 2025 fifth-round pick Cleveland had acquired from Detroit. Pickett is only 27 years old. He could be next in an increasingly-long line of former first-round quarterbacks finding success in the second and third acts of their NFL careers. But in order for Johnson's summer prediction to come true, Pickett will have to beat out a still-strong-armed Flacco, plus a 2024 Heisman Trophy finalist in Gabriel as well as Sanders, last year's Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.
