Driver seriously injured after exiting vehicle following crash in Barrhaven

A driver suffered serious injuries after being struck by another vehicle following a crash in Barrhaven early Saturday morning.
Ottawa police say they responded to a single-vehicle accident on Fallowfield Road east of Woodroffe Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Police say the driver exited the vehicle and was struck by another car that left the scene westbound towards Woodroffe Avenue. The driver was alone in the vehicle.
They were taken to hospital with serious injuries, police say.
Fallowfield was closed for several hours Saturday morning as officers investigated the collision. It has since re-opened.
