What's On Montreal: Take a trip to Japan, meet your favourite celebs at Comiccon, dance to some blues

What's On Montreal's Lauren Fernandez has you covered with all your weekend activities across the Montreal area for the weekend. From food, to music, and even fundraising, there's a lot of ways to make the most of your weekend. Take a trip to Japan without having to leave the city at the Matsuri Festival happening on July 5 to 6. Expect delicious food, entertainment, and activities all weekend long at The Japanese Canadian Culture Centre of Montreal. On Sunday, it will also be Japan's turn to light Montreal's skies at the Loto-Quebec International Fireworks Competition. If you're looking to dance the night away, head to the West Island Blues Festival in DDO on Saturday. Enjoy live music out in the community until 11 p.m. on July 5. For jaw-dropping, creative, and colourful performances, check out the Montréal Complètement Cirque festival. From July 3 to 13, various streets around the city will become the stage for the high-flying circus festival. Fans of pop culture should head to the Palais des congrès for Montreal Comiccon. From July 4 to 6, meet celebrity guests from your favourite films and series, such as William Shatner and Elijah Wood. Or you can give back while being active at Le Week-end pour combattre le cancer. The event takes place on Sunday in Vaudreuil-Dorion, and participants can walk or ride in support of the Segal Cancer Centre.
