Lorry crashes into car in Wolverhampton after driver taken ill
A lorry crashed into a car in Wolverhampton after the driver of the HGV became unwell behind the wheel. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and an air ambulance attended the scene on Penn Road at 09:14 BST on Friday, where three people were treated. The driver of the car was taken to New Cross Hospital for potentially serious injuries, while a boy was assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene. West Midlands Ambulance Service said the lorry driver had suffered a suspected medical episode and following treatment, was also taken to hospital. Mass brawl on Birmingham bus sees 'person stabbed' as passengers 'fight with weapons'
A police probe is underway into a mass fight on a Birmingham bus involving passengers with 'weapons' and a possible 'stabbing'. West Midlands Police has said its officers were called to 'disorder' and reports a person had been stabbed on a National Express West Midlands bus in Bristol Road South in Northfield at around 1pm on Wednesday (June 25). A group were said to be fighting on the bus and there were also reports of at least one among them suffering knife injuries. A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: 'We were called at 1.12pm to reports of a stabbing on Bristol Road South, Northfield in Birmingham. "One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene. "Upon arrival, no patients were found at the scene requiring treatment and we were stood down as our assistance was no longer required.' Police originally said its officers were called to a 'stabbing on a bus in Northfield' shortly after 1pm. Officers arrived and found nothing but remained in the area to carry out further enquiries and check CCTV footage. 'We were called to reports of a group fighting with weapons on a bus in Bristol Road South at around 1pm. 'Officers swiftly attended but everyone involved had left the bus and the surrounding area. 'An investigation is underway and officers are carrying out enquiries, including a review of CCTV footage. 'We are now asking for any information to establish exactly what happened, and to help us identify those involved. Four seriously injured in crash on Shropshire road
Four people were seriously injured when two cars crashed on a road in collision happened on the A458 at Wollaston just after midnight on Wednesday. Paramedics assessed six people, three from each women and a man from one of the cars were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Firefighters helped to release one of the women from that car, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.A woman in the other car also suffered potentially serious injuries. A teenage boy in that vehicle was not seriously hurt and the driver did not need treatment. The injured people were taken to the Royal Shrewsbury and Royal Stoke University hospitals. Woman dies and man injured in Bridgnorth crash
A woman has died and a man has been injured after the car in which they were travelling crashed with a happened on the A442 near Quatt in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, at about 15:15 BST on Sunday.A passing ambulance crew came across the scene and stopped to help before being joined by more paramedics and an air woman, a passenger, was confirmed dead at the scene, while the driver was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening, West Midlands Ambulance Service said. Baby raced to hospital after ‘being flung from pram' when lorry ploughed into mum & 2 kids before fleeing scene
COPS are hunting for a hit-and-run lorry driver after a baby was knocked out of his pram. The tot was rushed to the Royal Stoke University Hospital following the incident in Tunstall, Staffordshire, this afternoon. A police cordon covering parts of Forster Street and Tower Square remains in place - with initial emergency calls made at 12.10pm. A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to the junction of Forster Street and Tower Square following reports that a lorry had collided with a woman and two young children who were on foot. "We went to the scene with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service. "One of the children was assessed for injuries that are believed to be minor. The child has been taken to hospital as a precaution. "The driver of the lorry did not stay at the scene. A cordon has been put in place on Tower Square and Forster Street while enquiries are carried out in the area." Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision. They should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 291 of 13 June, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111. 2 2
