Ridgefest brings summer celebration to downtown Ridgeway
Ridgefest street fair is set to bring two days of community celebration to downtown Ridgeway, with live music, family activities, classic cars, and local shopping taking over Ridge Road North this weekend. The annual street festival, organized by the Downtown Ridgeway BIA, runs July 11 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and July 12 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Roads will be closed from Hershey Road to Hibbard Road beginning Thursday evening, with full closures extending from Wilson Road to Highland Drive during Saturday's events. Friday night's entertainment lineup includes performances by Austin McNeil from 5-6:30 p.m., followed by local rock band Westwind at 7 p.m. and Rock Garden band performing at 9 p.m. The beer tent and concert stage are sponsored by Revel Realty Fort Erie, with food options available from Backroad BBQ and Dog Got It. Saturday will begin early with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Ridgeway Lions Club from 8 a.m. to noon in the Beer Store parking lot at 265 Ridge Rd. N. Kicking off Saturday's packed schedule of activities is the annual car show hosted by Rods and Relics, featuring a wide array of vintage vehicles staged near John Brant School at 143 Ridge Rd. N. Throughout the day, the downtown strip will feature a farmers market and roadside vendors from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. A kids zone will also be set up, including inflatables, face painting, and pony rides. Saturday's live music lineup includes Public House Music Band, who will bring '60s and '70s classic rock covers to the stage from 5-6:30 p.m. while Rene Huard adds blues and soul to the mix from 7-8:30 p.m. A headline act for Saturday has yet to be announced. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Organizers are encouraging attendees to arrive early and plan ahead, as parking will be limited due to street closures.
