ITV Coronation Street issues ‘be vigilant' warning to soap fans using social med
Coronation Street has issued warnings to fans in a social media statement. It has become known to people behind the scenes at the soap that fans are falling victim to another type of scam. Back at the start of this year, both Corrie and Emmerdale accounts shared on social media platform X that scammers were pretending to be stars from the shows. The statement said: 'Please be aware that actors from both Coronation Street and Emmerdale are currently being impersonated by scammers across all social media platforms. 'No cast member will ever directly request money for messages, meetings or any kind of personal interaction on social media. 'We are aware these sophisticated impersonations can include deep-fake footage (where it appears to be the actor talking but isn't) and personal messages which seem to be realistic and in character. We urge everybody to be vigilant. Please report any concerns to the relevant platform.' They concluded: 'The legitimate way of meeting with real members of the cast is via official 'meet and greet' events run by ITV Star Tours.' This time, audience members are being targeted by con artists pretending to be from the Coronation Street casting department – claiming to offer them a part in their favourite soap. Metro understands that fans of Emmerdale have been approached too. To warn people about the cruel trick, the Corrie X account once again shared a message online, this time saying: 'We are aware that there are some accounts impersonating the Casting department at Coronation Street on social media platforms. 'Our Casting team only uses official methods of communication, this does not involve direct messages on Twitter or any other social media. 'Please be careful when communicating online and report any concerns to the relevant platform.' This comes after Emmerdale favourite Lisa Riley told her fans not to believe AI bots pretending to be her online. The actress, 48, is best known for her role as Mandy Dingle, said on Instagram: 'Hello everybody, it's Lisa here. Now, I have to keep reiterating this, please, and please listen.' 'If something is not on my page – and my page is blue-ticked – then it is not real,' she stated, referencing the social media network's notable person verification system. 'It is AI pretending to be me, and there is nothing I can do about it. It's a hoax, it's a scam and it's a lie. 'So please, I'm begging you, don't click on it, don't believe it, don't read it, don't give it any attention. It's not true. More Trending 'I have to keep reiterating this because I am inundated with people saying that I'm attached to things that I'm not. So please, if it's not on my page, it's not real and I have not endorsed anything of that like.' She concluded: 'Listen to what I'm saying, and don't take it as the truth because it's not. From me to you, I'm so sorry that it's going on because it's not real and I have to keep telling you guys this. 'But just don't believe it. It's a hoax and a scam. It's not the truth, thank you for listening.' View More » This article was originally published on 17th June 2025. EastEnders' Linda Carter makes life-changing decision after 11 years
EastEnders' Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) makes the life-changing decision to call time on her 11 years as landlady of The Queen Vic next week, but there's one obstacle standing in the way of her plan – her mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe). Linda has been co-owner of the Walford boozer since she and then-husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) debuted on the BBC soap at the end of 2013. She currently owns The Vic with Elaine, who came on board in 2023, buying Mick's share from his new wife Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) following his presumed drowning. Recently, recovering alcoholic Linda has been struggling to run the pub single-handedly, as Elaine has been behaving erratically since her split from husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) earlier this month. With rumours currently swirling that previous landlady Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is poised to take the reins of the Vic once more, there are tense scenes next week when Linda tells her mum she wants to sell her half of the pub. Reeling from the bombshell, Elaine tries to convince Linda to rethink her decision, but a furious argument breaks out. After Linda retreats to the café, she bumps into George, who encourages her to see the situation from her mum's point of view. But when Elaine spies their conversation, she becomes convinced they are plotting behind her back. Trying to take charge of the situation, Elaine meets with a bank manager, but it doesn't go to plan, and so later puts a proposal to her grandson Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) to become a silent partner, but he refuses. Feeling deflated and emotional, Elaine loses it in The Vic and orders all the punters out, before getting into another blazing row with Linda – but the stress of recent events becomes too much, and she suddenly collapses. Elaine later tries to play her collapse off as a panic attack, but it's clear something more is at play. Felling guilty, Linda reasons she should keep her share of The Vic for Elaine's sake, but Johnny is adamant she should sell – but as they return to the bar, Elaine has collapsed again. Is Elaine OK, or could this be part of a plan to stop Linda selling her share? More Trending Of course, this is not the first time Linda has sold the boozer – back in 2020, Sharon Watts (Letita Dean) bought it from her and Mick, as he sought to get his beloved L away from the temptation of alcohol. However, following Linda's subsequent affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood), she convinced Sharon to sell the pub back to her and Mick, realising it was what they needed to get their marriage back on track. Will this be last orders for Carter/Knight era of The Vic? View More » EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 30 June at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer. Much-loved Corrie couple get back together in emotional turn of events
Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) was a man on a mission in tonight's Coronation Street. The character discovered a few days ago that ex-partner Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) has dementia. The couple split shortly after Debbie learnt about her diagnosis, as she convinced herself that Ronnie would be better off with someone else. With a plan formed in his head, Ronnie defiantly made his way to Debbie's hotel with only one goal – get back with her. Ronnie pointed out that Debbie has so many people around her that love and want to support her, and that pushing them away wouldn't work. Debbie broke down to Ronnie at this point, telling him that she's terrified about the future. Holding her hands, Ronnie reassured Debbie and said that he will be there for her every step of the way and when they reach points that seem harder than others, he'll feel worried like Debbie, because he doesn't want her feeling completely on her own. Debbie got back with Ronnie after declaring her love for him. The cobbles resident has struggled to accept support from people in the wake of her health news, so letting Ronnie back in was a huge step. The couple decided to celebrate that evening with drinks in the Bistro. They sat alongside Kevin (Michael Le Vell), Abi (Sally Carman) and Carl (Johnathan Howard), who all reminded Debbie that they were here for her as well. More Trending Though fans have been worried that Debbie would be killed off in the coming months, star Sue Devaney has set minds at rest by confirming that this isn't the case at all. Speaking to Lorraine recently, she said: 'We wanted to do the diagnosis and get that sorted and then do the journey of living with dementia… 'She's not going anywhere yet! Emmerdale confirms mystery new romance for Kim
Kim Tate (Claire King) appears to be ready to move forward in the world of romance in Emmerdale. Over Christmas, Kim lost her partner Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), who died after having a heart attack. Because Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) returned at the same time, Kim's focus so far in 2025 has predominantly been on him. Convinced that Joe was hiding something, Kim attempted to find out his secrets by hiding an audio bug in his room. Kim's plan failed, meaning she didn't learn that Joe was plotting to steal Caleb Miligan's (William Ash) kidney. In recent weeks, Kim has acted as an advice giver for other people in Home Farm, rather than being at the centre of the drama herself. She was on hand to offer her thoughts on Dawn Taylor's (Olivia Bromley) affair with Joe, and also tried to support Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) after his marriage broke down. Things look set to change for Kim soon, as tonight's episode saw her acting suspiciously. In the lounge, Kim was listening to Joe, who believes someone is trying to blackmail him. It was obvious Joe was troubled by the fact someone had previously been in his bedroom but the problem? Kim wasn't exactly paying attention. More Trending Instead, she was focused on the fact her phone was pinging. As she sent Joe to the kitchen, Kim wasted no time in sending a somewhat flirty text to someone called Eddie. Corrie 'confirms' who left Gary Windass for dead in early ITVX release
The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Coronation Street that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Gary Windass (Mikey North) is lying unconscious in a hospital bed in Coronation Street, and the person responsible for putting him there has seemingly been confirmed. A couple of days ago, multiple young Weatherfield residents arrived at the Alahan household for a party. Things ended up taking a turn for the worse, however, when Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) decided to take hallucinogenic drugs. When DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) arrived at the party, Summer and Nina made a quick escape to avoid being caught under the influence of illegal substances. When they arrived back at the cafe later that night, they were both distraught, having clearly witnessed something traumatic. Nina and Summer have found themselves in a confusing situation ever since. The two girls are certain something happened that night but without any evidence and the fact they were on drugs, proving it seems nigh-on impossible. Nina only ended up going to the police station tonight because of Roy Cropper (David Neilson). In Seb's memorial garden, Nina reflected on what happened and revealed she pushed a man who fell to the floor, and she knows it happened because the noise of his head hitting the ground reminded her of the night Seb was attacked. At the station, Nina opened up to Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) but he gently pointed out that he doesn't have enough concrete information to conduct an investigation. When she mentioned Summer being involved though, Kit realised he was able to dig a little deeper into things. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? That afternoon, Roy, Nina, Summer and Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) stood in the station awaiting news from Kit. The detective confirmed that currently, he cannot find anything that confirms someone is in hospital after falling and hitting his head. More Trending This left Nina in a panicked state. As far as she was concerned, the man falling and hitting his head did happen, and she couldn't understand why everything suggested otherwise. But we know, of course, that Nina is right.
