From One Floor To A Rs 30 Crore Fortress: Inside Anil Kapoor's European-Style Juhu Abode

Last Updated: Anil Kapoor's Juhu house is made from years of his hardwork and love. The European style house is a testament of love and legacy. Anil Kapoor's journey from a struggling actor to a Bollywood icon is no secret, but what many may not know is that his most cherished project wasn't on a film set, but within the walls of his family home in Mumbai's Juhu. The actor, known for his enduring energy and timeless appeal, once made a silent promise to himself: he would only propose to long-time partner Sunita Kapoor when he could afford a house of his own. Decades later, that promise stands tall as the Kapoors now own the entire building where their story began. In an interview with Asian Paints' Where the Heart Is, Anil recalled the early days of their life together. After co-producing the TV show Hum Paanch with his brother Boney Kapoor, Anil saved enough to purchase his first apartment in the building he still calls home. It was a defining moment – marked not just by ownership, but by fatherhood. 'When Sonam was born, we stepped into this house for the first time," he reminisced. 'Every brick of this place holds my blood, sweat, and years of struggle. There's no shortcut, just sheer hard work." From One Floor to an Entire Building What began as a modest single-floor purchase eventually transformed into a four-storey private residence. 'People convert bungalows into buildings; I did the opposite," Anil quipped. As his career soared, he bought the remaining floors one by one, turning his apartment into an urban sanctuary layered with warmth and memory. Timeless Charm Meets Sacred Corners Anil and Sunita's home is a masterclass in understated elegance. The entrance is intimate yet grand, framed with lush foliage and antique artefacts. One of the most beloved spots in the house is their serene temple corner – a small sanctum featuring a framed idol of Lord Ganesha and a traditional seating area for prayers, creating an aura of spiritual calm amid a bustling city. The home's pièce de résistance is Anil's personal den – a London-inspired escape styled with European accents. Renaissance-era paintings, a vintage chandelier, and a rich colour palette add a regal warmth to the space. Large Maharaja sofas and a circular wooden table evoke comfort with sophistication. The rooftop terrace, meanwhile, is a tropical dream. It houses patio furniture, a sleek bar counter, and a skyline view, making it perfect for intimate gatherings or quiet family evenings. An in-house gym keeps the ever-youthful star's fitness routine on track. Property Value and Global Footprint Valued at approximately Rs 30 crore in 2000, Anil Kapoor's Juhu residence now spans around 10,000 sq ft. According to GQ and Lifestyle Asia, the actor's net worth stands at Rs 134 crore. He also owns prime properties in London, Dubai, and Southern California. A Modern Contrast: Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor's Sleek Bachelor Pad A short walk from Anil's bungalow lies his son Harsh Varrdhan 's sea-facing apartment – a strikingly modern space that reflects the new-age aesthetic of Bollywood's next-gen. Minimalist and tech-forward, Harsh's home features dark tones, wall-to-wall DVDs, and an integrated projector screen that turns his living room into a private cinema. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor (@harshvarrdhankapoor) top videos View all What truly sets Harsh's space apart? A dedicated room for his extensive sneaker collection – every pair meticulously arranged in what can only be described as a sneakerhead's dream. And with a sprawling balcony that opens out to the Arabian Sea, the apartment blends indulgence with introspection. The Kapoor residences may be worlds apart in design, but they share the same emotional DNA – heritage, purpose, and personality. One is a living chronicle of decades-long hustle and love; the other, a contemporary ode to passion and individuality. Together, they stand as powerful reflections of a family that continues to evolve across generations and design philosophies. ‘Home was this ship': Inside Jim Sarbh's not-so-minimalist Spanish beach villa

If Jim Sarbh's sprawling Delhi mansion in the series Made in Heaven had you drooling, his Spanish Villa in Maharashtra's Dahanu is straight out of an architect's dreams. In an episode of Where the Heart Is on Asian Paints YouTube channel, the Padmaavat actor took us on a tour of his beachfront abode. Let's take a look. As the video begins, Sarbh reveals that the stunning Colonial-style mansion is a family property. His father was the captain of a cargo ship, and by the time he was two, he had 'sailed all over the world.' His nomadic lifestyle made him feel like he belonged to every place that he lived in, yet he felt like an 'alien' in all. 'Home was this ship,' he shared as he introduced his villa. The villa features wide arches, open spaces, and courtyards – surrounded by a large garden. A grand staircase leads you to an outdoor swimming pool on the first floor, with fantastic views of the sea. An open home through and through, the actor's hospitality and love for hosting are evident in the warmth that echoes off the house's walls. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW VIDEO Not a fan of minimalism, as it has taken away 'an eye for design', Sarbh has decorated his space with cabinets and ornaments that are full of character. His favourite area in the house? The verandah, where he can get the feeling of being 'inside and outside' at the same time. Favourite time of the day, however, is the evening, when the water recedes and allows an opportunity to walk across the mud flats. He added that the property's highlight is its proximity to the beach. The heritage property boasts a strong theme of preservation as well, with Sarbh revealing that the home has been lovingly cared for by him and his family for decades, which is visibly apparent in the way the paint on the woodwork and layers on the walls shine with lustre.
