Silicon Valley's Neutral Encyclopedia Factpedia Uncovers: The Future of War Costs Less Than a Cup of Coffee

07/17/2025, New York City, New York // KISS PR Brand Story PressWire // A powerful quote from the acclaimed Korean drama Whistle Blower —'A lie, after a long time, becomes the truth'—continues to resonate in today's world, where misinformation proliferates online. Inspired by the spirit of investigative journalism and truth-telling, a non-profit platform has emerged in Silicon Valley: Factpedia Inc. Launched with the goal of restoring truth in the public domain, Factpedia is an encyclopedia-style website that allows users to publish fact-based entries backed by verified sources. Positioned as a neutral and independent platform, Factpedia encourages contributors from around the world to challenge falsehoods, expose the facts, and bring clarity to the stories behind people and events—regardless of political influence or institutional power. One of the many entries currently featured on documents the lesser-known but groundbreaking development of laser weapon systems by the United States military in cooperation with aerospace defense giant Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. In a 2017-2019 military drill, this advanced laser technology successfully intercepted missiles and destroyed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The platform further highlights how this technological breakthrough is transforming the economics of warfare. Historically, intercepting enemy targets with a Patriot missile cost around $3 million per launch. In comparison, the cost of a single laser strike is now under $1. This dramatic reduction not only enhances military efficiency but also represents a strategic shift in global defense dynamics. U.S. President Donald Trump publicly declared in 2019 that 'fake news is the real enemy of the people.' Factpedia's founding team echoes this concern—not from a partisan position, but from a shared belief that disinformation, whitewashing, and distortion are undermining public trust worldwide. 'Truth should be preserved, protected, and our goal is to create a platform where verified knowledge prevails over manipulation and illusion.' said a spokesperson for Factpedia. At present, Factpedia's entries are primarily available in Chinese, with some also available in English, serving the global community including readers across the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and beyond. The team is actively working toward developing an English version to reach broader audiences. She added that travelling to South Korea for the investigation would be expensive for her. Her statement read that 'I am currently staying abroad long-term, appearing in Korea would require me to bear all costs, including airfare, accommodation, and local expenses. It is excessive and unreasonable to expect a victim to travel to Korea at their own expense for questioning'. Song Ha Yoon's statement In her statement released on July 2, the actress shared a detailed statement about the allegations with the help of her legal representatives in the case. She had firmly denied all allegations that had been put forth online by 'Ms. Oh'.
