Timmy Trumpet Cancels European Shows Following Injury
Australian DJ Timmy Trumpet has been forced to cancel a handful of European dates after being sidelined due to injury. The acclaimed producer broke the news to his fans on Wednesday (July 23) by way of an Instagram post which featured an image of him in a wheelchair and an orthopedic boot. As indicated, Timmy Trumpet will no longer be appearing at his planned show in Sables, France on July 24, and festival slots at Germany's Open Beatz Festival and Belgium's Tomorrowland on July 25 and 27, respectively. Currently, he is scheduled to return to the stage on Aug. 1 as part of Canada's Veld Music Festival. The remainder of his current tour schedule sees him performing myriad shows throughout Europe and North and South America until November. Timmy Trumpet first rose to fame as a trumpet for Australian duo the Stafford Brothers before going solo as a DJ while utilizing live trumpet in his sets. His breakthrough single, 'Freaks,' was released in 2014, with the track – a collaboration with New Zealand's Savage – peaking at No. 3 in Australia and reaching the top ten in a handful of European countries. In 2019, Timmy Trumpet also became the first musician to perform a DJ set in zero gravity, with the achievement made possible thanks to the European Space Agency and German music promoters BigCityBeats. 'It was like no other experience I've ever had before,' he explained at the time. Timmy Trumpet released his debut album, Mad World, in 2020, and has frequently been listed as one of the top DJs in the world by DJ Mag, who listed the Australian at No. 5 in their 2024 list. GloRilla Arrested on Felony Drug Possession Charges Following Burglary of Her Georgia Home
GloRilla (real name Gloria Woods) was arrested in Georgia on Tuesday (July 22) after turning herself in to Forsyth County Jail, where she was charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule one controlled substance. A spokesperson for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office revealed in a statement to Billboard that the arrest was tied to a burglary of GloRilla's home; officers had responded to the break-in around 1:30 a.m. local time on Saturday (July 20). The intruders fled the scene and no injuries were reported to police. GloRilla was not present at the time of the burglary, law enforcement tells Billboard. An extensive investigation surrounding the home was conducted by law enforcement, who sensed a strong odor of narcotics, according to the statement. Task force agents subsequently secured a search warrant for the rapper's home and discovered a 'significant amount of marijuana' in plain view in the master bedroom closet. GloRilla then turned herself in to Forsyth County Jail Tuesday, posted a $22,260 bond and was released the same day. 'The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice,' said Sheriff Ron Freeman in a statement. 'At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.' The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has not named any suspects in the burglary case and no arrests have been made as of press time. Billboard has reached out to reps for GloRilla. GloRilla also ran into legal trouble in Georgia last year when the CMG rapper was arrested on DUI charges in April 2024 in Gwinnett County. More recently, Glo performed during the halftime show at the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis over the weekend. She's also preparing for her inaugural Glo Bash at FedEx Forum in her hometown of Memphis on July 25. 'Instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects , they focus on some cannabis.' Glo continued to clear the air: '1. So no I wasn't busted 2. My house got robbed 3. I wasn't home Long story short my house gets home invaded and Im the only one that gets arrested. So that's tea.' The suspects fled the scene after being met with gunfire by occupants at Glo's home, but no arrest warrants have been issued by police. GloRilla posted a $22,260 bond to secure her release just hours after turning herself in. Glo's attorney, Drew Findling, slammed law enforcement in a statement to Billboard, calling the arrest 'a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become.' On the season premiere last night (Wednesday, July 23) of ABC's Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, contestants Drew Carey and Aisha Tyler were cruising along, until they got to a question about the Hot 100.
