'Men in Blazers' Is on The 100 Best Podcasts of All Time
Sports A chance meeting between Roger Bennett, a freelance journalist, and Michael Davies, producer of the U.S. version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? , during the peak of its popularity, gave birth to North America's most influential soccer podcast. At the 2006 wedding where they crossed paths, the British expats bonded over their frustration that these nuptials took place during that year's World Cup final, between France and Italy; in 2010, they turned their freewheeling gabfests about the games into a show, Men in Blazers . Since then, Men in Blazers has interviewed everyone from Alex Morgan to decorated manager José Mourinho to actor Matthew McConaughey about the world's most popular sport. While Davies, now the executive producer of Jeopardy! and NFL Network's Good Morning Football , has taken a step back, Bennett's humorous bent and wide-ranging cultural references continue to define the brand. On recent episodes, he compared Erling Haaland's power to 'what Kendrick Lamar devotes to a diss track,' and told young adult novelist and Liverpool fan John Green that former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is 'so charismatic, that you don't mind admitting that you like him. It's like saying you cheer for scarlet fever every time you read The Velveteen Rabbit. ' (Bennett supports Everton F.C.; Green laughed.) Bennett is now CEO of the Men in Blazers Media Network, whose talent roster includes former U.S. Women's National Team player Sam Mewis and former men's player Herculez Gomez. In January the company received a $15 million investment to ramp up for the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Jeremy Clarkson to host Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? spin-off series
TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson is to host a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? spin-off called Millionaire Hot Seat. The new show, which will air on ITV, will see contestants sit in a queue around the hot seat, which faces Clarkson and allows the players to answer questions to climb the money ladder. As soon as they get a question wrong, contestants are out, and the value of the top prize drops. Contestants also have the opportunity to pass and stay in the game, but they will go to the back of the queue - meaning they may not return to the hot seat, where they have to be sitting to win the top prize. Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment and Daytime Commissioning at ITV, said: " Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? has reached 18 million viewers on ITV so far this year alone. "Commissioning a new spin-off format to further capitalise on the brand's success and popularity was a no-brainer, especially with Millionaire Hot Seat already doing so well in other territories also." The show, which will be produced by Stellify Media in the UK, is already popular in Australia - with more than 2,500 episodes airing. Along with the new spin-off, ITV has also commissioned 19 further episodes of the traditional Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? including seven celebrity specials. A date for the show's release is yet to be announced. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? has seen 40 series up to 2025.

Chris Tarrant explained his decision to step away from the world of showbiz after 52 years during Tuesday's instalment of Good Morning Britain. At the end of last year, broadcaster Chris Tarrant announced his retirement from television following an impressive 52-year career on-air. His television debut came in 1972 as a newsreader for ATV Today. Yet most viewers will recognise Chris from his lengthy stint hosting the gameshow Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Chris fronted the beloved programme for 16 years, launching with its first episode in 1998 before choosing to depart in 2014. During Tuesday's edition of Good Morning Britain, the 78-year-old chatted with hosts Charlotte Hawkins and Richard Madeley regarding his choice to withdraw from the entertainment industry. Charlotte enquired: "A lot of people will be thinking, 'Well, hold on, we haven't seen Chris Tarrant on TV for ages!', Why is that?" He responded: "I used to work like a dog, for years. I lost five really good mates, my sort of age, over about 12 months. I just thought, well, you know, I'm about the same age, I've worked very hard all my life. "I thought, do I really want to spend the rest of my life, whether that's a year, 10 years, 20 years or whatever, do I want to spend it in radio studios and TV studios? No, I don't. So I just pop in now to plug my book and then go home again." The 78-year-old informed the two hosts that he now leads a 'really nice' existence and is thoroughly enjoying it, reports the Mirror. Richard highlighted that Chris often gets incited to take part in reality shows, curious to know whether or not people would ever see him on one. When Charlotte suggested he join the I'm A Celeb line-up, Chris firmly disagreed with the idea. His response was firm as he commented: "No, I really wouldn't. I just couldn't stand it, I really couldn't. I don't want to lie with my head covered in maggots and them going down my trousers, no thanks." As the interview began to wind down, Richard told Chris that viewers miss his presence on television, while Charlotte teased her co-star about a name confusion incident during his appearance on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? She revealed: "You (Richard) kept calling Jeremy (Clarkson) Chris by mistake! So there you go, that's how much he missed you." Chris responded with: "When you do a show like that, one of the briefings, know the name of the host! It's very important."
