Watch: Trailer for Netflix series shows former Vikings QB Kirk Cousins' 2024 season
Netflix has slowly emerged as the premier place for in-depth, behind-the-scenes looks at the NFL, with its series Wide Receiver and Quarterback. On Monday, the trailer for their new season of Quarterback was released, and within it, there were some interesting parts that Vikings fans may find worth watching. While he may not be with the team anymore, Kirk Cousins remains in the hearts and minds of Minnesota fans. Cousins left the team in free agency in 2024 when he signed with the Atlanta Falcons. The show covers that season and will be covered, and as the trailer shows, it will include the shock of the Falcons selecting Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Cousin gives his reaction to the pick in the trailer, which is shortened, but his entire thoughts will be seen on the show. Also on the show, for Vikings fans, is an in-depth viewing of the return of Cousins to Minnesota in 2024. The Falcons lost to the Vikings, so they can enjoy that game again, as well as Justin Jefferson leaving Justin Simmons looking confused on his long touchdown in the game. It may not directly have a Vikings focus, but there is still a lot for the fans to enjoy.

Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase behind surprising name in new rankings
Most would likely agree that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase should be in the conversation as the NFL's top overall wideout. Chase, after all, achieved the rare Triple Crown feat last year, catching 127 passes for 1,708 yards and 17 scores. Advertisement Some, it seems, are more comfortable just slotting him into the top three. Over at Pro Football Focus, Trevor Sikkema ranks Chase behind A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles and Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, writing the following: "The 2024 triple crown winner — first in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns — excelled in several areas, but his work after the catch stood out most. He gained 800 yards after the catch last season and leads all receivers with 1,788 yards after the catch since 2022." RELATED: Bengals rookie Shemar Stewart remains out with contract dispute It's elite company for Chase, but listing him third feels like it almost does a disservice to his growth as a player. He's made a point to improve across the board as the years ago by, picking up the ability to be a threat not just on the boundary, but from the slot and otherwise. Advertisement Either way, it's sort of splitting hairs once the rankings get into the top three. No team in the NFL would complain about having any of the top three on a roster and Chase's massive contract extension speaks to how the Bengals and Joe Burrow view him. Scott Hanson: Travis Hunter should focus on WR, spotlight as DB
Scott Hanson: Travis Hunter should focus on WR, spotlight as DB The 'NFL Red Zone' host spoke to Yahoo Sports' Woody Wommack about this year's draft, the players he's most excited to see at the pro level and his own personal plans for 2025. Scott joined Yahoo Sports on behalf of Lowe's. View more Video Transcript Here with Scott Hansen joining us on behalf of Lowe's and the amazing green room that Lowe's put together. Advertisement This thing's crazy. Woody, good to be with you here. Yes, indeed, in the NFL draft Green Room built by Lowe's. Millions of football fans trust Lowe's with their homes. The NFL trusts Lowe's to build the, uh, the delivery room, if you will, for the birth of, of NFL careers. It's very exciting. I mean, we know you've been paying attention to the draft process. Give us a player you're excited to see that maybe on Sundays, you know, if, if you're hosting a certain show, you'll be talking about him. Let's start with a guy who's not gonna have a very long wait before he gets that phone call and Travis Hunter. Advertisement We have not seen a player like him come into the NFL in a long while, maybe ever. He says he can play both ways full time. I'm, I'm a bit skeptical that he can do it full time at the highest level. I'm a bit skeptical that whoever drafts him. We'll use him in that capacity, but I'll tell you this, I absolutely think we'll be showing him on red zone impacting the game on both sides of the football. I would play him at wide receiver. I would, I would make him practice at wide receiver, learn the playbook, learn dynamic NFL route running and let his physical gifts dominate the game on the offensive side of the football and then. Advertisement I would take him and say, Travis, you got 10 snaps, 12 snaps. We get to 3rd and 8, 3rd and 10. When we're on defense, you're going in the game and there's Justin Jefferson, cover him. There's Aman Ras Saint Brown, cover him. There's CD Lamb, cover him one on one. You don't need to know the defense for that. Follow that cat all the way around the field. How awesome would that be to be a two-way player in that. Capacity. That would be incredible. That's like, hey, look, you got your coaching hat. I know you play. It's easy to do it from the armchair. OK, so you mentioned red zone. So wait, are you officially back? Advertisement Well we know we haven't heard any announcements. Yes, many people are speculating there have been reports, some inaccurate, some semi-accurate out there. All I can share with you is, uh, negotiations are ongoing. The NFL has told me they want me back. I certainly want to be back as host of Red Zone. 16 seasons of what's been called the greatest football show there is. We have to come to an agreement and we're, we're not there yet, but negotiations are ongoing and I'm, I'm very hopeful. So I don't know how much you've dug in. I'm sure you've done a ton of research on the draft, but you're up there day 4 to 7. Advertisement Is there a name that. It's called and you're like, oh, I know like you're, you're puka the cos of the world or something that you've got your eye on. I haven't identified anyone just yet. I think you need to see the fit with the player. The, the interesting thing about day three is rounds 4 through 7, just because you see the dreams come true of the big name prospects who everyone's been talking about in the first round quarterbacks and, and the big edge rush, pass rushers and whatnot on night one. 4 through 7. That's where you build a team. That's where you build a playoff contender, build a playoff team, build a Super Bowl team. Advertisement It, it'll be fun to see it happen right here in Green Bay. All right, thanks for hanging out with us on behalf of Lois. We love it. Great energy so we got so much, you know, it's football, man. If you can't get fired up about this, what are we doing? Good to be with you, Woody.
