Moving beyond standalone restaurants, the chain has begun experimenting with unconventional locations such as airports, military bases, theme parks, food courts, and convenience stores that bring high traffic. To ensure success, it's also attracting high-ranking, multi-unit franchise candidates. Recently, Wienerschnitzel made a significant step in its expansion agenda by partnering with Walmart (WMT) to open six new franchisee-operated restaurants by fall 2025. US hot dog franchise Wienerschnitzel has secured a deal to establish seven new restaurants in Norfolk and Richmond in the state of Virginia, marking its entry into the East Coast market. The expansion is led by Leon Dickey, who previously owned and operated multiple McDonald's restaurants in the Tidewater market. Dickey stated: 'Wienerschnitzel immediately stuck out to me for its unique positioning and operational efficiencies, and I knew I wanted to be the one to bring it to Virginia. 'The brand has an extremely loyal following out West, and I believe it's perfectly poised to resonate with guests here as well. 'There's nothing like it in the market — and I'm confident that the combination of craveable menu items and its scaleable model will set us up for long-term success.'
