Seth Rogen's Wild Ride Continues in Vulgar Trailer for SAUSAGE PARTY: FOODTOPIA Season 2 — GeekTyrant

If you thought Sausage Party maxed out the insanity back in 2016 and with the first season Sausage Party: Foodtopia , think again, because it's back for Season 2, and the new trailer is a foul-mouthed, food-fueled fever dream that somehow turns the dial up even higher. In Season 2 of the animated series, 'exiled from home, Frank, Barry, and Sammy soon find themselves in New Foodland, a shining utopia for food and humans alike. 'But beneath the city's glossy fridges and cheery smiles lies a dark secret that threatens the entirety of sentient food society.' The trailer is bonkers with its full-on profanity-laced musical numbers, talking tacos with attitude, and existential hot dogs having meltdowns. And of course dialogue like, 'It was the best of times, it was the wurst of times.' The returning voice cast includes Seth Rogen, Will Forte, Edward Norton, Michael Cera, Sam Richardson, Ruth Negga, Yassir Lester, and David Krumholtz are all back in the mix. But Season 2 also comes with some fresh seasoning with new cast members including Marion Cotillard, Jillian Bell, Martin Starr, Melissa Villaseñor, Patti Harrison, Haley Joel Osment, and Andre Braugher. The series is once again run by Sausage Party vets Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter, who co-wrote the original film with Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Conrad Vernon returns to direct, continuing his streak of animated food-based chaos. If the first season was any indication, this new chapter will be absurd, wildly inappropriate, and probably weirdly heartfelt. Season 2 of Sausage Party: Foodtopia hits Prime Video on August 13th.

John Cena Speaks Out on COYOTE VS. ACME Being Saved: 'I'm Glad It's Out of the Dusty Box' — GeekTyrant

For a while it looked like Coyote vs. Acme would be another casualty of WB's corporate write-offs, but after months of fans rallying and behind the scenes wrangling, the animated/live-action hybrid film is officially back on track for a theatrical release. Now, star John Cena is finally opening up about what it feels like to see the project pulled back from the brink. Speaking with ScreenRant, Cena shared how rewarding it was to see Coyote vs. Acme finally get the shot it deserves. 'Rewarding, certainly for everybody a part of the project. Anytime you put your heart and soul into something and it gets shelved, it is tough. Again, it ain't my sandbox, so I completely understand those decisions, but the fact that companies could talk together and the movie could get shown. 'We do what we do to try to entertain, and I know the audiences that were able to see Coyote vs. Acme were entertained. So hopefully that audience grows larger… I just saw it for the first time very recently. It's a bunch of fun and man, I'm glad it's out of the dusty box.' For those who've followed the story, it's been a frustrating ride. Coyote vs. Acme is a finished film from Warner Bros. that was quietly canceled last year, written off for tax purposes just like Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt . What made this one sting even more is that it was reportedly good. Test screenings scored high, and the cast, which includes Cena and SNL alum Will Forte, were proud of what they made. But none of that seemed to matter until Ketchup Entertainment stepped in, securing the film's rights with a nearly $50 million deal and giving it a second chance. Forte, who's been one of the more vocal voices on the matter, didn't mince words when discussing how it felt to watch the project be cast aside. 'My thoughts are that it's f-cking bullsh-t. It is such a delightful movie. It deserves so much better…I can't tell you possibly why the decision was made to not release it, but it makes my blood boil. I don't want people to forget what they did to us.' But now that the film is officially back, Forte's tone has shifted, at least a little. 'I never thought it would happen so it just came out of nowhere and I'm so thrilled. Thank you Ketchup Entertainment, I'm so excited for people to see this movie. I'm gonna promote the crap out of it, just tell me what you want me to do and I'll go, I'll do whatever — go to the top of Mount Everest, I'm there.' Still, even with the comeback, Forte made sure to underline the emotional toll the shelving took on the cast and crew: 'Don't let us make this thing that we fall in love with and then not show it,' he said. There's no official release date yet, but with distribution locked in and stars like Cena and Forte ready to go full Road Runner on the promo trail, it's only a matter of time before Coyote vs. Acme finally gets its moment.

Will Forte Says ‘SNL' Should Have ‘Retired' George W. Bush Impressions After Will Ferrell, Admits His Version Was a ‘Letdown': ‘It's Like Trying to Replace the Church Lady'

Will Forte admits Will Ferrell is a tough act to follow. While chatting with fellow 'Saturday Night Live' alum Amy Poehler on her 'Good Hang' podcast, Forte, who joined the show in 2002 after Ferrell's final season, discussed the burden of playing George W. Bush on 'SNL.' More from Variety Amy Poehler Says 'SNL' Actors 'All Played People We Should Not Have... 'It was, like, 17 people, you're trying to get you're stuff on, you're trying to get noticed. And then I got, somehow, the George Bush role.' Although it was a great opportunity to prove himself, Forte explained that impressions were not his strong suit, and that his placement in the role of Bush was 'a match not made in heaven.' On top of that, Ferrell's take on Bush is one of the most iconic impersonations in 'SNL' history, setting Forte's bar impossibly high. 'Will Ferrell was George Bush! He was George W. Bush. He was so good at it. Anybody replacing…it's like trying to replace the Church Lady,' he said in reference to Dana Carvey's immortal 'SNL' character. 'Trying to have somebody else do that…he made it such his own thing. They should have just retired it.' 'But of course, you can't retire the sitting president on 'SNL,'' Forte added. He went on to say that he felt his take on the 43rd president was ultimately a 'letdown.' Forte was on 'SNL' for eight seasons, leaving the show in 2010. Most recently, Forte has appeared in shows such as 'The Four Seasons,' 'The Great North,' 'Bob's Burgers,' 'Sweet Tooth' and 'Clone High.' Amy Poehler Admits to Offensive ‘SNL' Sketches: ‘I Misappropriated … I Appropriated'

Amy Poehler has admitted that some of the sketches on 'Saturday Night Live' were offensive and 'appropriated.' The actor and comedian hosted her former costar Will Forte on her 'Good Hang' podcast this week, and the conversation turned to their mutual former work environment. Forte brought up 'SNL' first, and told Poehler that when he reflects on the show, it is clear that many sketches are 'all about getting a laugh' no matter what. Poehler quickly agreed. 'The part about getting older and being in comedy is you have to figure out: Everything has an expiration date,' she said, before noting that the 'In Memoriam' segment hosted by Tom Hanks during the show's February 2025 50th Anniversary special offered several examples. In one sketch from 2004, Ben Affleck yells at Fred Armisen's character, who appears to be disabled, and Poehler's character tells the actor, 'Oh my god, Ben Affleck just yelled at that mentally challenged guy!' '[It] which was like, 'Here's all the ways we got things wrong. And they showed way inappropriate casting for people. We all played people that we should not have played,' she said of the segment. 'I misappropriated. I appropriated. I didn't know. I did know.' 'It's very real, and the best thing you can do is make repairs, learn from your mistakes, do better – it's all you can do,' Poehler continued. Amy Poehler Says ‘SNL' Actors ‘All Played People We Should Not Have… I Misappropriated, I Appropriated': Everything in Comedy Has an ‘Expiration Date'

Amy Poehler recently took accountability for her problematic 'Saturday Night Live' characters while talking to former cast member Will Forte on her 'Good Hang' podcast. Poehler said that every comedian who has appeared on 'SNL' over the years has 'played people that we should not have played' and 'the part about getting older and being in comedy is you have to, like, figure out, 'Oh, it's like everything has an expiration date.'' 'There was even on ['SNL50'], when they had that segment which was like, 'Here's all the ways we got things wrong,' and they showed way inappropriate casting for people,' Poehler added. 'We all played people that we should not have played. I misappropriated, I appropriated…I didn't know.' The montage of poorly-aged bits includes jokes about sexual harassment and such infamous moments as Adrien Brody sporting dreadlocks and a Jamaican accent. 'Even though these characters, accents and … let's just call them 'ethnic' wigs were unquestionably in poor taste, you all laughed at them,' Tom Hanks said in a winking moment at the audience. 'So if anyone should be canceled, shouldn't it be you, the audience? Something to think about.' Speaking to Forte on her podcast, Poehler added: 'The best thing you can do is make repairs, learn from your mistakes, do better. It's all you can do.'
