Gina Rodriguez is pregnant, expecting baby No. 2 with husband Joe LoCicero

The couple's news comes six years after they tied the knot in 2019. Rodriguez and LoCicero first met in 2016 when the actor played a stripper during season two of 'Jane the Virgin.' Turns out, when Rodriguez and LoCicero met a second time, she didn't even recognize him. 'He came in through the door and I was like, 'Good God!' and I fell into his eyeballs,' she gushed to Bust Magazine in 2017. 'On the fourth day [that we saw each other at the gym], he asked me out, and I have been dating him ever since. While talking to Cosmopolitan in 2019, Rodriguez opened up about what makes their relationship different. She admitted that dating the 'Bold and the Beautiful' actor was a 'new experience for me because I put myself first.' 8 Gina Rodriguez and Joe LoCicero. 'For so long, I put every man in front of me,' Rodriguez explained. 'As a successful woman, it's so hard because of our cultural norms that, like, the man has to be the breadwinner! And the man has to be the more powerful one. It was so difficult for me to find a man who didn't want me to dim my light for his ego.' In 2022, LoCicero sweetly celebrated the news of becoming a father for the first time. 'The love of my life is now carrying the new love of my life inside of her!' he captioned an Instagram video of spiritual guru Sadhguru talking about kids. 'I knew it when I met you that I found a man like no other,' she penned on Instagram beneath a series of family photos. 'When I walked down the aisle and you cried tears of joy, I knew I found someone extra special. I knew a great man would make a great dad.' Scott Speedman To Headline ‘RJ Decker' ABC Pilot As He Eyes ‘Grey's Anatomy' Return
EXCLUSIVE: Scott Speedman has been tapped for the lead in RJ Decker, ABC's drama pilot from Elementary creator Rob Doherty based on the 1987 novel Double Whammy by Carl Hiaasen. Speedman will play the title character in the 20th Television pilot, written by Doherty and directed by Paul McGuigan. The casting expands Speedman's existing relationship with ABC and 20th TV through his role as Nick Marsh on Grey's Anatomy. He has been recurring on the ABC/20th TV medical drama after a Season 18 series-regular stint. The RJ Decker casting is not expected to impact that, and I hear the plan is for him to be able to do both should the pilot go to series. He tackles cases that range from slightly odd to outright bizarre with the help of his journalist ex, her police detective wife and a shadowy new benefactor — a woman from his past who could be his greatest ally … or his one-way ticket back to prison. RELATED: Speedman's RJ Decker is described as someone who has charm to spare and the owner of a short fuse and a restless soul. Doherty executive produces the pilot alongside Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman of Timberman-Beverly Productions as well as McGuigan and Hiaasen. 20th Television is the studio. I hear Speedman likely would segue to filming appearances on the upcoming 22nd season of Grey's Anatomy after wrapping RJ Decker. At the time of the Season 21 finale in May, Deadline asked Grey's Anatomy executive producer/showrunner Meg Marinis whether Speedman would be back next season. 'Obviously, deals haven't been made yet, but we love Scott, and his character Nick and Meredith are still together,' she said of one of the show's most popular couples, played by Speedman and Grey's star Ellen Pompeo. 'He was also at the star ceremony supporting Ellen, so it was really great to see. Oh, and the fans were so excited to see him there with her.' RJ Decker is the only pilot ordered by ABC in 2025 so far. Greenlighted in May for midseason 2026 consideration, it feels like a good fit for crime shows with a light tone — and a singular lead — on the network such as High Potential, The Rookie and Will Trent. Felicity alum Speedman most recently starred in the Peacock horror series Teacup. He previously was a lead in the TNT drama series Animal Kingdom and had a major recurring role on Season 3 of Netflix's You. In features, he is known for his work in the Underworld franchise. ‘Washington Black' Trailer: First Look At Sterling K. Brown's Hulu Drama Series
Hulu has released the first trailer for Washington Black, its upcoming limited series based on Esi Edugyan's bestselling novel, starring and executive produced by Sterling K. Brown. Washington Black follows the 19th-century odyssey of George Washington 'Wash' Black, an eleven-year-old boy born on a Barbados sugar plantation, whose prodigious scientific mind sets him on a path of unexpected destiny. With Emmy voting underway, Ramón Rodríguez wants to break barriers for Latinos on TV
A Latino actor has never won an Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a drama series, and 'Will Trent' star Ramón Rodríguez hopes he'll be the one to break that barrier. 'It's a sad and unfortunate reality,' the Puerto Rican actor said. 'It's not why I do what I do, obviously. But does it matter? Of course it does. Because what it does is it gives it a stamp of value.' 'It sort of says, 'Oh wow, this show is critically acclaimed,'' Rodríguez said. It would indicate that Latino actors can lead a television series with 'a compelling story and character.' In the history of the Emmys, only three Latinos have been nominated in that category: Pedro Pascal, who was nominated in 2023 for his starring role in 'The Last of Us;' Jimmy Smits, who was nominated five consecutive times from 1995 to 1999 for his performance in 'NYPD Blue'; and Jose Ferrer in 1953, when the category was just known as 'best actor.' From becoming a leading figure in reinventing police procedurals to starting his own production company 'to tell our stories,' Rodríguez is looking to make a difference at a time when few Latinos are leading TV shows. 'It is scary. ... I place a lot of pressure on myself in terms of wanting to continue to elevate,' Rodríguez said about the 'kind of unspoken' responsibility that comes with being part of the 4% of on-screen TV talent who are Latinos. 'Being Latino and Puerto Rican, there's no doubt that's something I'm very conscious and aware of,' Rodríguez said. 'I'm standing on shoulders of people who've paved that and made it a little easier for me. I'm hoping to make it a little bit easier for those who follow.' 'Will Trent' is based on Karin Slaughter's bestselling books of the same name. It follows a dyslexic orphan who endured physical trauma and abuse as he aged out of the foster care system in Atlanta. The character becomes an intuitive detective at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation who solves cases others can't. 'Will is an underdog,' Rodríguez said. 'All of those things are very loaded, heavy, monumental kind of moments in people's lives.' 'I quickly fell in love with his resilience and his heart, which are kind of deeply buried. I love that about him,' Rodríguez said of his character. Will Trent's beloved sidekick Betty, a pocket-sized Chihuahua he reluctantly adopted in Season 1, is perhaps the one character who can always tap into the harsh detective's soft side. 'There's such a beautiful story there that sort of says so much about who Will is,' Rodríguez said. Despite mixed reviews from critics, audiences have shown up for 'Will Trent,' which will start filming its fourth season later this summer, according to Rodríguez. The series, which airs on ABC and streams on Hulu and Disney+, amassed an average of 11.6 million viewers across multiple platforms during the 2024-25 season, according to Nielsen, which puts 'Will Trent' among the 10 most watched TV shows on prime time. 'The writers do a fantastic job of balancing comedy and drama,' Rodríguez said. 'That's a hard thing to do.' As the actor who plays Will Trent and the show's executive producer, Rodríguez said he is heavily involved in every aspect of bringing this character to life. He recalled shedding his ' Nuyorican' accent to create a dialect reflective of his character's unique experiences and developing Will Trent's signature look: a retro three-piece suit that serves almost like a protective armor for a character who struggles to show his vulnerable side. 'He's very different than any other character I've portrayed, which is exciting,' said Rodríguez, who is also known for playing memorable characters in TV shows including 'The Wire,' 'Day Break' and 'The Affair.' Season 4 of 'Will Trent' is expected to air on ABC early next year, Rodríguez said.
