PSG defenders Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez to miss remainder of the Club World Cup
PSG have been hit with a double whammy as Willian Pacho (23) and Lucas Hernandez (29) will both miss the remainder of the Club World Cup. The Ecuador international centre-back and the France left-back have both received red cards during Les Parisiens' quarter-finals 2-0 win against Bayern Munich. Anthony Taylor gave Pacho his marching orders after he fouled Leon Goretzka and he did the same to Hernandez when the former Bayern Munich defender had elbowed Raphael Guerreiro in the face. FIFA's Disciplinary Committee has opted to hand the two culprits a two-game ban, which means their Club World Cup is effectively over. PSG can still appeal the decision. Champions League winners PSG will face Real Madrid in the second semi-final this Wednesday at East Rutherford's MetLife Stadium. Should they defeat Los Merengues, PSG will face Chelsea or Fluminense in the final. GFFN | Bastien Cheval

Jamal Musiala breaks foot in horrifying incident during Club World Cup
The football world has taken a collective gasp after watching Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala suffer a horrifying foot injury during his side's Club World Cup clash with Paris Saint-Germain. Musiala's leg got caught under PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma when he challenged for a ball at the byline just before half time. PSG defender Willian Pacho edged Musiala out of the contest as Donnarumma came diving onto the ball, inadvertently landing awkwardly on Musiala's leg. Musiala screamed in agony with an unnaturally oriented foot as he laid on the ground. Players from both teams were distraught at the sickening sight, so much so that Donnarumma dropped to one knee in tears. The goalkeeper went down on one knee and turned away with his gloves over his face as teammates consoled him. Musiala was stretchered off the ground and taken straight to hospital. Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany didn't have all the answers about the injury after the match, but knew they wouldn't be good. 'It didn't look good, I don't know,' he said. 'It looks like an ankle injury of some type, but I'm not going to make a diagnosis here.' It was a horrific incident that ultimately overshadowed PSG's win, which has set them up for a semi-final clash with Real Madrid. Désiré Doué scored in the 78th minute despite PSG being two men down after a pair of late red cards and Bayern throwing everyone forward. Ousmane Dembélé then added an insurance goal deep into stoppage time to send the French powerhouse to the semis. Dembélé, whose goal was set up by Achraf Hakimi's brilliant dribbling through five Bayern defenders, celebrated by sitting with his legs crossed to honor Liverpool player Diogo Jota, who was killed along with his brother in a car crash early Thursday. A moment of silence was held before the opening kick. PSG broke a scoreless deadlock when João Neves stole the ball from Harry Kane near the halfway line to send the French team sprinting toward the Bayern goal. Neves got the ball back off a give-and-go and found Doué lurking just outside the top of the area. His left-footed shot caught Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer flat-footed as it skidded inside the right post. PSG had to hold on for dear life to preserve the win after Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernández were both sent off with red cards. Pacho was called for a reckless challenge and Hernandez earned red for doling out an elbow. Bayern had two apparent goals flagged for offside, including a header by Kane. In the waning seconds, the German club was awarded a penalty kick, only to have it waved off after a video review.
