London weather: 'Killer' heatwave to hit 36C in hottest-ever start for Wimbledon
The start of this year's Wimbledon Tennis Championships is set to be the hottest in the tournament's 147-year history. Forecasters are expecting temperatures in the capital to rise during the week as the All England Club opens its doors to spectators. The mercury will soar each day into the high 20s and low 30s, before peaking at a scorching 36C during the start of the grand slam in south-west London. Monday's weather is expected to be 7C hotter than the warmest start to The Championships so far on June 25, 2001, when 29.3 (87.4) was recorded at Kew Gardens, the nearest observation site to the stadium. Such temperatures would also beat the tournament's record high of 35.7C on July 1, 2015. It comes as an amber heat health alert is issued for London and other parts of the UK from Friday until Tuesday. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issued the alert covering the East Midlands, South East, South West, East of England and London. The agency has warned that significant impacts are likely across health and social care services, including an increase in demand, during the alert period. An amber alert was previously issued for all regions in England on June 19, the first time it had been used since September 2023. On the same day the UK recorded its warmest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching 32.2C in Kew, west London, before heatwaves were declared across England and Wales. Wimbledon matches could be suspended, with a 'Heat Rule' in operation for players. It allows a ten minute break to be taken between the second and third set when the heat stress index is at or above 30.1C (86.2F). Staff are also on standby to treat fans should they begin to suffer in the crowd, with 350 volunteer first-aiders, nurses, paramedics and doctors on site throughout the event. The city has already seen several prolonged periods of heat over the last few weeks, a pattern the Met Office said was likely to continue. 'There are signs of more widely settled weather during the second half of July, however this signal is very tentative,' the forecaster said. 'Temperatures are expected to be above average for most areas, especially towards the southeast where there will be an ongoing chance of some very warm or hot conditions at times.' Saturday was the hottest day of the year so far with temperatures rising to 33.2C (91.8F) in the village of Charlwood near London Gatwick Airport. In London, a heatwave is triggered when a location records at least three consecutive days where the daily maximum temperature meets or exceeds 28C (82F).

Inside Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's love story as pair tie the knot
Ahead of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding ceremony in Venice today, let's take a look at their love story so far, from the initial meeting to their lavish engagement The biggest stars have descended upon Venice for a three-day wedding extravaganza as Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez tie the knot. Famous faces such as Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner have been spotted in the Italian city ahead of the nuptials. According to People, the pair hosted a welcome party for their 200 guests in a closed cloister adjacent to the Madonna dell'Orto church on Thursday evening. According to the publication, the bride-to-be wore a gold satin dress, which is a look from Schiaparelli's Spring-Summer 2025 Haute Couture Spring Collection. This will be both Jeff and Lauren's second marriage after splitting from previous spouses, MacKenzie Scott and Patrick Whitesell respectively. Jeff met MacKenzie back in 1992 before tying the knot the following year. They share four children, three sons and a daughter adopted from China. Meanwhile, Lauren was married to Patrick from 2005 to 2019. Ahead of Jeff and Lauren getting married today (June 27), let's take a look at their love story from how they first met to their lavish engagement… First meeting The loved-up pair first met in 2016 when Lauren was introduced to Jeff by her now former husband Patrick at an Apple release party for the film, Manchester by the Sea. In 2018, the businessman hired Lauren's company, Black Ops Aviation to film a promotional video for his rocket company, Blue Origin. On January 6 2019, Jeff announced his divorce from ex-wife MacKenzie and just three days later, rumours began swirling of his new relationship after the pair were pictured together several times. Lauren filed from divorce from Patrick in April of that year also. A source told People at the time: 'Lauren and Jeff have been spending a lot of time together over the last year and especially the past few months. At first, it was socially at parties… here and there. But their time together has definitely seemed to evolve.' Going public Jeff and Lauren reportedly decided to move in together in late January 2019. In one of their first major outings together, the couple were seen packing on the PDA at the Men's Finals Day of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. During their first year together, the two didn't waste any time and travelled the world together, often being seen out in St. Tropez, New York and St. Barts. In December 2019, Jeff reportedly threw his ladylove two star-studded parties to celebrate her milestone 50th birthday. The first event was said to be an intimate dinner for family while the second was a huge birthday bash. The guest list included Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, Scooter Braun and Diane Von Furstenberg. Lavish engagement Jeff proposed to Lauren in May 2023 on his $500 million yacht named Koru. After a few days of speculation, a source close to the couple confirmed the news to People. They said: 'He proposed last week. They're on cloud nine — so happy and madly in love. Her engagement ring is beyond stunning. And huge! She keeps playing with it and looking at it.' Two months after the engagement, the two threw a massive engagement party on the Amazon founder's yacht on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

Another heatwave will hit London this weekend – with temperatures soaring to 35C
Oh, you thought London was hot last weekend? Well, gird your loins – it's about to turn even hotter. After a few days of relief, the Met Office has forecast that London will heat up once again over the next few days, reaching 29C on Saturday, 31C on Sunday and rising to an absolutely blistering temperature of 35C on Monday, June 30. It'll be the hottest start to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in its 147 year history. According to the forecast, Monday's peak heat of 35C won't hit until around 4pm and it'll stay that hot until around 7-8pm, so you'll have plenty of time to bask in the blazing sun after work. But that also means that Londoners are also in for a sweaty night of sleep. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued amber heat health alert for the capital in anticipation of the boiling temperatures. It kicks in at 12pm on Friday, June 27 and lasts until Tuesday, July 1. In its outlook for Sunday to Tuesday, the Met Office describes the weather as: 'Staying largely dry with good spells of sunshine into next week. Turning increasingly very warm or hot, and humid. Some warm nights to come too. Light winds.' Things are set to cool down on Wednesday and Thursday, with a nice and bearable high of 25C predicted for the city. Looking a little further ahead, BBC weather predicts that there could be some thunderstorms later next week. It says: 'Whilst some rain or showers are possible across the south and east, longer drier spells are more likely, under the influence of higher pressure. There is also the chance of some occasional very warm, perhaps locally hot weather, as brief bursts of hotter air encroach from the continent, but probably fairly short-lived and perhaps also accompanied by a few thunderstorms at times.' See what the heatwave has in store for the rest of the UK here. Staying cool in the city Wondering how on earth you're going to cope in the heat? Let us help you out. London is awash with lidos and open-air pools that are perfect for a cool down. There are also loads of beautiful beer gardens where you can hydrate with a nice cold pint, lots of shaded woodlands to wander through and plenty of big, air-conditioned attractions, like the Tate Modern and British Museum, if you want to get out of the sun completely.

What The Cool Girls Are Wearing To Wimbledon 2025: The Dress Code Explained And 10 Outfit Ideas
With the Wimbledon Tennis Championships beginning on Monday 30 June, anticipation is mounting as Carlos Alcaraz eyes up a third consecutive victory, and young British hopefuls Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu return to compete on home turf. But beyond the drama on the court, Wimbledon has established itself alongside Ascot as one of sport's most stylish events, drawing (almost) as much attention for its outfits as the match results. The tradition of Wimbledon Whites sees many guests opt for crisp linen suits and tennis-inspired pleated skirts and V-necks, with the event's signature green and purple shades also popular. This year, attendees may also nod to 20 years of Ralph Lauren's partnership with the Championship and choose preppy pieces from its mainline and Polo collection. If you're in need of some outfit inspiration, look to fashion's best dressed guests. A Wimbledon regular, resident Cool Girl Alexa Chung never gets it wrong, whether choosing mannish tailoring in a white shorts suit or a khaki cotton blouse and mid-blue jeans, or a beige cable knit cardigan and cream A-line skirt. Pinstripes are a mainstay, with Poppy Delevingne wearing a cream pinstripe blazer, wide-leg trousers and shirt as a guest of Ralph Lauren last summer, while Sienna Miller chose a sky blue belted tailored linen suit also by the brand in 2023. Model Mimi Labouchere teamed a blue and white pinstripe shirt dress with a cream knit and top-handle handbag to attend the event last year. Ever ahead of the curve, Jourdann Dunn looked radiant in a butter yellow cable knit jumper and satin skirt to attend Wimbledon in 2023, with Lila Moss equally resplendent in a floor-length powder blue slip dress. Making an unexpected cameo last summer, Margot Robbie stunned in an asymmetric Alaïa white and black polka dot stretch midi dress complete with matching Le Teckel shoulder bag and black leather peep toe heels. The ever chic Keira Knightley chose monochrome Chanel in a white cotton one-shouldered layered dress with bow detail, worn with a boater hat, slingbacks and quilted handbag, all from the brand. Lean into boyish style like models Constance Jablonski and Edie Campbell, who respectively chose an oversized double breasted jacket, white denim and loafers and a taupe trouser suit worn over a white tee when attending as guests last year. Green remains a favourite shade, with Amelia Windsor pairing a shirt dress with a khaki trench coat and Aspinal Mayfair bag while Ikram Abdi Omar referenced the traditions of Wimbledon in green and white striped shirt and trousers with a navy blazer and white court shoes. If you're feeling overwhelmed, follow the example of Shalom Brune-Franklin and Ella Richards and choose perennially stylish navy worn top to toe. The actor and model each chose long line cotton dresses with coordinating cable knit jumpers to attend Wimbledon last year. The shade is easily accessorised with black, cream, metallic or tan and monochromatic pieces can be effortlessly reworked for other summer occasions or a workwear wardrobe. With so many avenues to pursue, are there any rules to consider when attending Wimbledon? While players must wear all-white, there is no official dress code for spectators and guests, but some items are not allowed: torn jeans, running vests, sport shorts and dirty trainers. Bags must not exceed 40cm x 30cm x 30cm in size and are limited to one per person. Guests may not wear clothing bearing political statements, offensive language or large designer logos. Oversized hats are not allowed to prevent obscuring other guests' views. In general, the dress code is smart daywear, particularly if you'll be watching from Centre Court or Court Number One. If you're watching from the Royal Box, men should wear a jacket and tie, while women are asked to dress in below-the-knee dresses, ankle-length jumpsuits or trouser suits. Yes, denim is allowed, though without any rips or tears. In order to meet the smart daywear recommendation, opt for a darker wash and a more fitted silhouette. Trainers, flats and heels are all permitted, though trainers and sneakers must be clean and presentable. Heels of any height may be worn, though if you're queuing for a ticket, observing from Murray Mound or planning to explore the grounds, opt for a flat, wedge, small kitten heel or block heel for comfort. Gain the advantage as Wimbledon's best dressed and see our Cool Girl guide to outfits below. Wimbledon begins on Monday 30 June with the Ladies' Singles Final on Saturday 12 July and the Men's Singles Final on Sunday 13 July. While the Wimbledon Public Ballot is now closed, anyone can queue each day for a Show Court or Grounds ticket sold on a best available, one per person, non-transferable basis. See the official Wimbledon site for details. Hospitality packages are available via Seat Unique and Keith Prowse. ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. Charles Leclerc and Alexandra Saint Mleux Relationship Timeline
It's not a secret that Formula 1 is full of some of the world's most eligible bachelors, I mean, have you seen Lewis Hamilton? But it's also a hub for some super adorable couples, like F1 driver Charles Leclerc and Alexandra Saint Mleux. Didn't realize your F1 crush was spoken for? Well, that might be because since Charles and Alexandra, an influencer and Rhode ambassador, were first spotted together in late 2023, they've mostly avoided attending public events as a couple and only walked a few red carpets together. They also rarely post about each other on social media, choosing instead to keep their romance private. Need to know more? Here's a breakdown of Charles Leclerc and Alexandra Saint Mleux's relationship timeline. Fans started suspecting that something was going on between Charles and Alexandra in early 2023, after the two were spotted together at Paris Fashion Week. At the time, Alexandra's social media was reportedly private and Charles didn't address the speculation until a few months later. Charles eventually put all the rumors to rest, confirming that he was dating someone in an interview in May of 2023. Though he didn't name Alexandra at the time, the two made their debut as a couple a few months later. The duo indulged in some light PDA while attending Day 8 of the 2023 Wimbledon Tennis Championships. The two sat next to fellow F1 driver Pierre Gasly and his girlfriend Francisca Gomes. Alexandra and Charles looked all loved up at the Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers in Los Angeles. Charles and Alexandra continued their relationship tour, appearing together at the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague basketball game between AS Moncao and Olympiacos Piraeus. They were snapped sitting on the sidelines enjoying the game. Again, not a hugely romantic outing, but also one very deliberately captured on camera. Cute alert! In April of 2024, Charles announced that he had adopted a puppy with an adorable Instagram post. The carousel of pics mostly featured 'baby Leo' living his best puppy life, but one shot in particular shows him attempting to chew what looks like a woman's hand. Could it be Alexandra? (All signs point to: yes.) Meanwhile, Alexandra posted a TikTok video of her snuggling up to her new fur baby. And she and their pup have been F1 regulars ever since. After watching Charles win the Monaco Grand Prix for the very first time, Alexandra joined her partner at the official Gala Dinner—a rare red carpet outing for the two. She also appears briefly in Charles' official YouTube vlog of the race. If this Instagram carousel is anything to go by, it looks like Alexandra and Charles celebrated the holidays together in Mexico last year. While she made sure to keep her boyfriend off her grid, you can see their sweet family photo (Leo included!) on the second slide. The duo arrived hand-in-hand at a screening of F1 The Movie in Monaco, showing the public that they're still going strong. Sadly, Leo was not invited.
