'In my dating era': Isla Fisher opens up about new single life amid shock divorce from Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen

Aussie movie star Isla Fisher has shared a major update about her dating life amid her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen days after making a rare appearance at Wimbledon. Fisher, 49, and Baron Cohen, 53, announced their separation in April last year via a joint statement on social media. "After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down," the former couple wrote alongside a photo of themselves in tennis whites. Fisher, a prolific Instagram user, often shares small hints about her new single life via her humorous Instagram story posts. 'Me in my dating era trying to be normal,' she wrote via Instagram on Friday alongside a video of a cockatoo appearing to dance to Earth, Wind & Fire's disco hit September. The funny clip comes days after Fisher stepped out looking glamorous in a plunging floral dress for day one of the Wimbledon tennis grand slam. Fisher looked positively ageless in a Monique Lhuillier lemon-printed corset dress that retails for a whopping $4,703. The Wedding Crashers star accessorised the pricey outfit with Jimmy Choo sandals, an Aspinal of London mini leather Paris bag and a pair of aviator sunglasses. Fisher and her ex-husband confirmed they had finalised their reported AU$250 million divorce last month. 'Our divorce has now been finalised,' the pair wrote in a message published jointly on their social media accounts. 'We are proud of all we've achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children.' The former couple, who share three children, previously split their time between homes in Sydney, London and Los Angeles after their 2010 wedding in Paris. 'It's the most difficult thing that I've been through and I've learnt so much about myself in the process,' Fisher said earlier this year in a rare interview. 'I never imagined my family being separated but we are committed and loving parents.'

Lacrosse. On the Chicago River. Yes, on a boat. Premier Lacrosse players hit the river

Along white boundary lines, onlookers watched closely through their sunglasses. Lacrosse sticks in hand, players readied themselves as a remix of Earth, Wind & Fire's 'September' blared over speakers. Skyscrapers crept by slowly. Down below, neon green kayaks paddled along. The whistle sounded. Athletes moved. So did the field. Downtown Chicago doubled as an arena Thursday for a series of afternoon lacrosse games along the Chicago River. The catch? Game play was on — yes, on — the river, moving over gentle currents, under drawbridges and parallel with touring architecture boats. Situated on a retrofitted Chicago River Boat, the stunt acted as a welcome event for a Premier Lacrosse League series taking place at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium in Evanston on Friday and Saturday. The league previewed the series skipper-style in partnership with Whirlpool, the home appliance company headquartered in Chicago. 'It's awesome to be immersed in (the city) right now,' player Kylie Ohmiller said before the action started Thursday. '(We're) literally in the middle of the river right now.' Ohmiller was one of eleven professional lacrosse players who went mobile with their sport for the afternoon. Athletes represented both the Premier Lacrosse League and the Women's Lacrosse League. Ohmiller plays for the New York Charging in the women's league. From Long Island, New York, the 28-year-old has played lacrosse since the third grade. Always on land, though. 'It's crazy. … I've been playing lacrosse for 20 years now, and I've never done it on a boat,' she said. 'This is a first.' Boat play took shape in the form of three-by-three exhibition games. The players' field for the day was a slab of turf placed on the deck of a riverboat. Black netting bordered the makeshift field, just as a precaution for any rogue lacrosse balls. But players, for the most part, deftly avoided the watery out-of-bounds, a testament to their athletic prowess. Games were condensed, fast-paced and despite taking place on a moving target, competitive. 'It's unbelievable,' said Trevor Baptiste, who plays for the New York Atlas in the Premier Lacrosse League. Asked how he prepared for the exhibition series, Baptise said nothing specific. If anything, just adopting the mindset of 'aim small, miss small,' he said. Two brothers — Paul and Mike Rabil — launched the Premier Lacrosse League seven years ago. This week marked the first time the league has come to the Chicago area since its first season in 2019. Paul Rabil said the Premier Lacrosse League has been working to get back to Chicago for years. And what better way than a quintessential Chicago boat tour. 'To do something as big as … playing lacrosse on a boat? That impact, I think, will ripple through the city,' Paul said. For Premier Lacrosse's first few seasons, the league operated on a touring model where teams didn't have geographic affiliations. But for the last couple of years, the league has reconfigured gameplay around a few major 'home' markets, including Boston, Philadelphia and California. Chicago isn't on that list but Paul hopes that someday, it will be. 'It's a matter of when, not if,' he said. After a few rounds of games, Josh Barrow with the Premier Lacrosse League, who moonlit as referee for the afternoon, stood at the edge of the field. 'We've had some close games,' Barrow said, clad in a white and black striped jersey. Barrow, who has worked with Premier Lacrosse since the league's founding, called the event 'epic.' 'This is one of those kind of pinch-me moments,' he said. He did admit, though, that there were a few calls he made that could have gone the other way. One standing rule: Any balls that went into the river counted as a lost point. '(There were) a few goals that were argumentative,' he said. If only there was instant replay.

The True Story Behind 'Trainwreck: The Real Project X'

For the people of Haren, a small town in the Netherlands, the 21st night of September is significant (and it has nothing to do with the music of Earth, Wind & Fire). Nearly 13 years ago, the town made international news when thousands of people showed up to celebrate a 16-year-old's birthday after the party invite went viral on Facebook. It was chaos: Rioting injured at least 36 people, and dozens were arrested. In Trainwreck: The Real Project X, out July 8, Netflix explores the making of the party as part of its series on disasters in recent history. It features the birthday girl, Merthe Marije Weusthuis, who is speaking about the party for the first time in 12 years, YouTubers who filmed the party, and local government officials who tried to prevent the party from getting out of hand. 'I am 28 now, and after all these years, I've finally decided to tell this story,' Weusthuis wrote on Instagram when she shared a trailer of the Netflix doc. 'Despite the renewed scrutiny, harassment, and opinions I'm already preparing for, I'll at least have spoken in my own voice.' Here's how the party went viral. A public Facebook event Weusthuis created a public Facebook event for her 16th birthday on Facebook and invited 78 people. As she invited friends, those friends also invited their friends, and it went viral. When 17,000 people RSVP-ed as attending, she deleted the event. But an 18-year-old man named Jorik Clarck created a copycat event, framed as a surprise birthday party for Weusthuis. It contained references to a popular 2012 movie Project X about a high school party that spun out of control. 'I made her Facebook famous,' Jorik brags in Trainwreck. A friend of Weusthuis who was connected to Jorik on Facebook gave her his number. Her father called Jorik and begged him to take down the event, saying he was concerned for his family's safety because people were climbing over their fence and taking pictures of their house. Jorik didn't want to jeopardize Weusthuis's safety so he deleted his event. Then, another copycat event came up. When Weusthuis reached out to the admins, urging them to delete the event, they blew her off. As it became clear that this party was going to happen no matter what, local officials started to brainstorm ways to keep it contained. Chris Garrit, the night in the nearby city of Groningen (actually a government official in charge of supervising the city's nightlife) tells Netflix that he wanted to designate space outside Haren for the party, complete with music and a stage, but Haren's mayor wouldn't allow it. He just wanted to broadcast that the party was cancelled. Weusthuis tells Netflix that she was worried that revelers would burn down her house like in the Project X movie. The day of the party By September 21, about 350,000 people had RSVP-ed as attending the event. Weusthuis sought refuge at an aunt's house outside of Haren. The doc contains lots of footage of the rowdy crowd. With booze in hand, they chanted 'Where's the party? The party is here!' Boomboxes blasted music on the street. Police were on high alert for any hijinx, and started closing off streets near the house. A riot broke out. Some footage in the doc shows officers clubbing unruly revelers. People broke car windows and shoplifted. In the film, a journalist covering the event recalls how he returned to his car to find footprints on the windshield, a window smashed, and a brick on the passenger seat. 'I've kept the brick as a souvenir,' he says. The mayor of Haren, Rob Bats, came under fire for his failure to contain the party, and he ended up resigning. Why so many people wanted to go to a stranger's party At a time when so much socializing was done on social media, people seemed to be excited about a chance to gather in person, and Project X, which was released in March 2012, resonated with and inspired teens. Project X did inspire other real-life parties that spun out of control, from a 2012 rave in Houston, Texas, that resulted in one death to a 2014 party in Canadian Lakes, Michigan, that resulted in several hospitalizations. Weusthuis says she thinks it's a very human instinct to want to go to the party. She totally understands that many teenagers eagerly await the moment when they can drink legally and go to parties. 'I don't think most people who came to the party were intending to riot or commit a crime,' Weusthuis says in the doc. 'I think a lot of people came because they wanted a party. I think it's a normal inherent thing in teenagers around that age, that they want to rebel, take their freedom, express their personalities.' The movie ends with her saying, 'I definitely would have gone if it wasn't my party.'
