Gill scored a commanding 269 in the first innings but fell 31 runs short of becoming the first Indian to notch up a triple ton in over a decade. "A player's hunger should never die. Two road construction agencies to face action: CS
Patna: The project management group (PMG), headed by chief secretary Amrit Lal Meena, on Wednesday decided to take action against the two agencies involved in the construction of Amas-Darbhanga Express highway and Ram-Janaki Marg, as the work was found unsatisfactory. While the progress of work on the Amas-Darbhanga Express highway was found to be unsatisfactory, the work being done by the agency concerned on the Siwan-Mashrakh section of Ram-Janaki Marg was found to be slow, a govt release said. The PMG meets on the first Wednesday of every month to review the status of the implementation of the central infrastructural projects connected with rail, highways, petroleum and communications and gas connection. Among the decisions taken at the PMG meeting, the DMs of Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Madhepura and Purnia were asked to complete the land acquisition work in the next 100 days with regard to the Patna-Purnia express way. The NHAI said that it would issue the tender for the allotment of the construction work to the selected agency. Further, the land acquisition work connected with the sections of the Raxaul-Haldia and Siliguri-Gorakhpur highways falling in Bihar would also begin soon.
