Winnipeg crews respond to fires on Manitoba Avenue, Century Street
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WPFS) were called to a house fire in the 600 block of Manitoba Avenue on Friday at 10:02 p.m. According to a media release, all occupants exited the house safely before crews arrived. One individual was assessed by paramedics and no transportation to the hospital was required. Two dogs were located and the City of Winnipeg's Animal Service Agency responded to help. The fire was declared under control 20 minutes later. Winnipeg crews responded to another report of a fire at a commercial building in the 400 block of Century Street. Crews responded at 4:13 a.m., with the fire declared under control at 4:40 a.m. Both fires are under investigation.

Encampment catches fire on downtown riverbank
A Winnipeg firetruck is shown in an undated photo. No injuries are being reported after several temporary structures and debris caught fire Friday afternoon. Just before 4:50 p.m., Winnipeg fire crews were called to Assiniboine Avenue for an encampment fire along the riverbank. The city says crews found several temporary structures and debris on fire. It was quickly brought under control 15 minutes later. No injuries were reported.
