German Business Expectations Improve as Trade Fears Ease
German companies' economic outlook improved as concern over President Donald Trump's trade policy eased and an imminent boost to public spending buoyed sentiment.
An expectations index by the Ifo institute rose to 88.9 in May from 87.4 the previous month – above the 88 median estimate in a Bloomberg poll of analysts. A measure of current conditions dipped slightly.
