Why Orlando Bloom And Katy Perry Called Off Their Engagement

Sadly, after almost ten years together, for six of which they were engaged, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have announced that they have broken up. A joint statement released by their respective representatives reads: 'Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.' According to People's sources, their relationship had been 'breaking down' for months. Speculation reached fever pitch around the time of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's €40 million Venice wedding, which only Orlando attended despite both of them being close friends with the billionaire couple. Apparently, one source of tension (rather awkwardly) was the Blue Origin space trip Katy fronted in April, which was largely lambasted by the media. 'From day one, Orlando didn't think going on the Blue Origin mission was a good idea, and knew she would face backlash,' a source told The Sun. And according to People's sources, issues in the relationship were also exacerbated by the poor reaction to Perry's 143 album, particularly her single 'Woman's World'. The exes first met while fighting over a burger at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016. They started dating shortly after before going on a break in 2017. Things quickly turned serious when they reunited in 2018, with Orlando proposing to Katy on Valentine's Day in 2019. Apparently, their wedding was scheduled to take place the following year, but their wedding plans were scarpered by the pandemic. In August 2020, Katy and Orlando welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom in 2023. (Photo: IMAGO) Orlando and Katy were spotted together in Australia, where Katy was on tour, in late June days before the Venice wedding, which initially caused some confusion as to whether the break up rumours were true. But, as the joint statement confirms, they were simply together for the sake of their four-year-old daughter. Of course, Orlando also has a healthy co-parenting arrangement with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr, who he was with for six years in total and married in 2010. The pair ended their relationship in 2013 and share a 14-year-old son called Flynn, who lives primarily with Miranda and her husband, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel. The couple have three additional sons Hart, Myles and Pierre. It's thought that Orlando and Katy will both still primarily reside in LA, where Miranda and Evan also live, so it should not be too difficult an adjustment moving forward.

Is Orlando Bloom Attending Lauren Sanchez And Jeff Bezos' Venice Wedding Without Katy Perry?

It's been two and half months since Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez, Aisha Bowe, Kerianne Flynn, Gayle King and Amanda Nguyen spent 11 minutes in space on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin flight. The faux feminist marketing of the rocket launch was so intensive and the landing so emotional that it seemed to bind the passengers together in a sisterhood – especially Sanchez and Perry. Lauren Sanchez's Parisian hen party in May was case in point. The 'Woman's World' singer was right by her side on the trip, along with a few other familiar faces including Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Eva Longoria. All of whom, until recently, were expected at Sanchez's wedding to Amazon chairman, Blue Origin founder and world's third richest man, Jeff Bezos, in Venice on Friday. Sadly, amid rumours that Perry and her long-term fiancé Orlando Bloom have broken up after seven years together, it looks like she won't be coming. So large and expansive is their wedding that they have reportedly booked out the entire city for their six-day ceremony. Their nuptials have caused a great deal of controversy in Venice, with a No Space for Bezos activist group threatening to fill the canals with inflatable crocodiles to block celebrity guests from entering. As a result, the couple have reportedly moved the ceremony from the 16th century Scuola della Misericordia to Arsenale, a historic complex of shipyards surrounded by walls. It's definitely one to watch this weekend as protests around the Italian city are almost inevitable. Protesters say the event risks turning the world heritage site, which continues to suffer from the effects of excessive tourism, into 'a playground for the rich'. Which is a hard point to disprove when you consider that 95, yes 95, private planes are expected to land at the city's airport in the coming days to accommodate the arrival of the all-star guest list. Around 200 wedding guests are expected with household names like Elon Musk, Kim Kardashian, Ivanka Trump and Leonardo DiCaprio expected to arrive before the 27 June. Apparently, despite their 10 minutes sat in the stars together, it's Orlando Bloom who is attending the wedding rather than Perry. On 24 June, TMZ reported that Bloom was getting ready to fly to Venice. 'He's the life of the party,' the source said. 'He's gonna hit the dance floor hard.' The report also revealed that 'all indications are [Bloom is] now a single man'. Perry, on the other hand, is rumoured to be missing the wedding because of her tour schedule. Bloom and Perry were recently spotted in Perth with their daughter, but it sounds as though Bloom won't be there for long. Meanwhile, Perry is due to perform in Adelaide all weekend so won't be at the wedding. Despite conflicting reports and the fact they were recently spotted in Australia together, it looks like Perry and Bloom's relationship is on the rocks. The pair have been engaged since 2019, but on 13 June, a source told People the pair were 'pretty much done' adding they 'don't really see them being able to turn things around'. The source continued: 'It's been breaking down the last couple of months and isn't looking good.' Adding more fuel to the fire, during a recent appearance at a gay club night in Melbourne, Australia, Perry could be seen singing without her signature ruby engagement ring. Bloom proposed to Perry on Valentine's Day 2019 with a gorgeous flower ring - rumoured to be worth a staggering $5million - but instead, she switched the showstopper ring for a plain silver band. The news that Bloom is attending Bezos and Sanchez's wedding without a +1 has done nothing to quash the rumours. Apparently, one source of tension for the couple (rather awkwardly) was the Blue Origin space trip, which was largely lambasted by the media. '[Bloom] complains about her going to space, and then wants to go to the wedding of the people who made it possible for her to do this in the first place,' the source added. 'That's difficult for her to accept. They're already spiralling and now the wedding is another thing that they have to fight about.' Katy Perry wows Perth on Lifetimes Tour

A pop extravaganza took place at RAC arena Sunday night as thousands of loyal 'KatyCats' assembled in anticipation of superstar Katy Perry's The Lifetimes Tour, for the first of her two Perth shows. The atmosphere was electric as fans sported costumes from the singer's iconic outfits as an ode to their favourite hits. The pop queen didn't hold back in delivering the spectacle crowds were expecting, ensuring every facet of the show went the extra mile to impress. From riding a gargantuan mechanical butterfly across the arena to being propelled through the air on aerial lines — all while belting out songs — Perry confirmed her status as a seasoned pop icon. Opening with song Artificial (feat JID) set the tone for the AI-themed show, featuring Perry in a video game world fighting the villainous AI technology known as 'main-frame'. As the audience was sucked into her vortex via larger-than-life visuals, the singer rose from the depths of the infinity-shaped stage, dressed in a futuristic robot-inspired costume complete with thigh-high metallic boots. If it all sounds a little gimmicky, that's because it was, aligning with the over-the-top fantastical worlds Perry seeks to create with each tour. Fans were mesmerised by the epic visuals, jaw-dropping set design and multiple costumes changes, bursting into song alongside mega hits Woman's World, California Gurls, Teenage Dream and latest dance anthem Lifetimes. Taking time to interact and connect with fans, the singer accepted posters and gifts from the crowd, including a pack of Tim Tams that she shared with two young fans on stage — her signature quirky charm on full display. The show is the star's fifth world tour in promotion of her seventh studio album, titled 143. While the singer experienced backlash after the recent Blue Origin space flight that has extended to criticism of The Lifetimes Tour's themes, Perry maintains her messaging of acceptance and belonging throughout the show, that originally garnered her millions of fans on the brink of her 2011 California Dreams Tour. Any criticisms were clearly left behind as the audience couldn't get enough of Perry's stage presence and powerhouse vocals. With an encore of much loved hit Firework to end the show, fans were left feeling sky high. 4 stars

Former Young & Restless Star Daniel Goddard Says His Time on the Show ‘Amounted to Nothing'

Daniel Goddard is well-known among The Young and the Restless fans for his roles as Cane Ashby and Caleb Atkinson. Recently, the actor made a shocking revelation years after leaving the show, stating that his time there brought him nothing. Here is everything you need to know about Goddard's latest statement regarding the popular soap opera. Daniel Goddard, a former star of The Young and the Restless, recently began portraying Professor Henry Dalton on General Hospital. In a recent interview with Woman's World, Goddard discussed his new role and reflected on his time on The Young and the Restless. He mentioned that he had stepped away from acting but was invited to audition for the role of Jack Brennan on General Hospital. However, at the time, he was focused on his business ventures. The 53-year-old also shared that it was difficult for him to get back to auditioning after stepping away from acting. He said, 'I had a lot of hesitation because I had a lot of fear. Fear of not being good, of failing, of letting down a fanbase.' Goddard added how 'those 12 years or so on Y&R amounted to nothing, because I was back to auditioning.' However, Goddard managed to overpower his fear and had a great time auditioning. He shared, 'When I left, I thought, 'Geez, I missed that!' Because I hadn't auditioned in four years. I had no intention of going back to acting, but it was a moment of awakening for me.' Daniel Goddard discussed the differences between working on both shows. He explained that in The Young and the Restless, actors receive the entire script, which allows them to see what other characters are saying about them. 'I was also always going into the writers' room to read scripts four weeks ahead, so I'd know where the character was going,' he said. On the other hand, in General Hospital, he only receives the pages that include his own character.
